Ty Warren Cut ! Crumpler, Kaczur, TBC, Stroud cut too

I am thoroughly convinced that our perception of Patriots players are, in all cases, significantly different than BB's perception of the players. Every year there's a cut like this where I'm left surprised. As far as I'm concerned, BB could have really thought that Warren wasn't as consistent and talented as we thought he was. I swear, I don't even want to know what he actually thinks of Brady.

Most of our discussions on this forum are baseless speculation and it is in so many ways hopeless because in the end it seems to me that BB always perceives his players in ways that none of us ever can expect.

I hope warren ends up outside of our division. I can see the phins and bills making a play for him.

I am absolutely shocked and disappointed that the Pats have cut Ty Warren, for a variety of reasons. One of the big ones is that Ty Warren has always been a TEAM guy. He took less to stay with the team a few years ago.

The reports that have come out have said that the Pats didn't even try and re-negotiate with him. Once he failed the physical and conditioning run, that was it.

As for the phrase "going in a different direction". All that means is that they want to go with a different player at LDE. Which is surprising since Ty Warren was their best run stopper, bar none. They must really like Brace and feel he'll be able to handle it with Wilfork and Haynesworth.

Good Luck to Ty Warren. You'll be missed.
I think it became personal between TW and BB. Same thing with Seymour, from what i remember he attended his Grandmothers funeral, going against BB wishes. I think as a HC you can't allow yourself to sap the team of talent because a player may piss you off from time to time. I Never could understand why BB was so angry at Seymour, it was his Grandmother or Grandfather, not someone he hardly knew.

This is the second straight year that Warren has shown up for camp out of shape and immediately hurt himself because he refuses to keep in shape in the offseason. Its got nothing to do with being personal, it has to do with him not being willing to put in the work anymore.

usually I think the whole "if he gets a big contract he won't be hungry" comments are a bunch of crap, but it seems with Warren thats exactly what happened, he got his long term deal and then stopped taking care of himself.

Warren hasnt been a difference make for several years- football maybe isnt the priority it once was-- Pats will be fine without him -

I'm baffled by the responses here. It's been years since Ty Warren was Ty Warren (2007?). He was in a fierce position battle with a lot of big, talented guys, most of whom are younger than he is. The injury just sealed his fate.

I dunno, I think Cunningham would be an end in a 4-3. I think Guyton would probably be the outside guy. He got significantly more playing time than Spikes last year.

fletcher, too......plenty of 4-3 LB flexibility on the roster.....the only real problem would be depth at the DE position and what the pats would do with about a half dozen or so DT's they have on the roster.......deaderick, pryor, favorite, weston, cohen, brace.....

Wow, didn't expect that they need help on defence and they cut Warren.

Ty being cut is a surprise, but not a huge one.

The other cuts are not surprises at all.

Crumpler may be a "veteran mentor" type, but he produced nothing on the field. A dedicated blocking TE can be had for much less than 2.5 million a year. If you just want him to teach, hire him as a coach.

I'm not sure about that, he played on a bad hip which was getting worse for a few years. So he couldn't keep himself in shape hence showing up last year in poor condition. Just cause he pulled a hammy doesn't mean he was in poor shape, that can happen to anyone. If we go back i think his hip started going on him the year after he re-signed. I think it was a degenerative condition, so it got worse as time went on.

P.S. BB is not a Water Walker

Definite possibility. It's possible that we re-sign him to the vet min. and then place him on reserve PUP. Makes for a nice reinforcement mid-season.

PS- Warren could possibly use a walker soon- good luck

No, the fact that he pulled a hammy doesn't mean he was in bad shape, but the fact that he failed his physical and his conditioning test, as well as was described as being in bad shape, does.

Bill Belichick wants guys who live, eat and breathe football. Football obviously isn't all that high on Ty Warren's priorities anymore, and there's nothing wrong with that in and of itself, it just means hes probably not going to be a great football player anymore.

I hope this team is still aggresive even with the Asomugha news and makes another move.

I think he had a torn hip labrum, your right in that it wasnt that bad at first but the tear got worse over time. I think they might have been pissed at him for not getting it taken care of right after the 2009 season and be ready for the start of the 2010 season, or at least contribute at some point in the season. Instead he waited til the start of training camp and decied to get it done then, it was bad timing on his part.
