On vacation now so will not be attending another camp until later next week.
What about your responsibilities here? ;)

Nice write-up. Looking forward to more when you're back.

My argument is this: why squeeze one more year out of a vet at the expense of losing what might be an elite TE with his entire career ahead of him?

Crumpler had all of last season to set an example and to teach the ins and outs of being a professional TE. Honestly what would another year do?

Gronk has proven himself very capable and has kept his nose clean.

We already have a fully stocked RB corp, WR corp, DL, etc. and I still think we will go with 4 TE.

Great report. Thanks!

At this point, as in any year, we can project a lot more than 53 guys who will deserve roster spots. Indeed, we can estimate that more than 53 will deserve roster spots AND stay healthy enough to claim them. Some of those guys get cut every year even so.

didnt see anything mentioned about Tate. Was he there, how did he look?

Vereen is below Ridley in the depth?

I wonder if this might simply be a function of Ridley being signed and Vereen not yet. I.e. a that between two rookies at the same position we will be giving more reps to the one that we have signed for now. Seems like a way for the team to send a message to get your ass signed.

Umm.. Brace is on the Active/PUP. So not sure how he could be practicing..

Vereen isn't signed yet, so again, how can he be practicing..

Has Crumpler actually reported yet? I didn't think he had..

Yes, I'm not sure how Vereen can be placed somewhere on a depth chart when he isn't even signed yet, and hasn't hit the field.

Great thread, great post. Thanks for the info!

I would hate to see Crumpler gone but would understand.

Really appreciate the training camp reports, always a favourite.

I have high hopes for Price this year so i am really rooting for him.

For some reason i think with the addition of Chad, branch and tate could be on the chopping block and i am leaning a little bit towards branch as cutting him would also free up some cash.

Really hope the rookies are signed by practice tomorrow and we can get a good look. My focus is really on Solder, Ras I and Mallett

OP: Great stuff as always.

Solid Photos, you must have a nice camera;)

That is correct. According to Rodak & Reiss, neither Crumpler nor Vereen were seen in practice today. Brace and Deaderick also did not participate in practice but were working on strength and conditioning drills on the sideline. Tough to gauge attitude based on that I'd say.

I thought hanging out at training camp was vacation!

Glad you like them. Took over 150 photos yesterday. I'll try to upload more of them today into an album and post a link.

Thanks for the fotos Flyboy....Was going to TC today but not sure they will practice outdoors with the weather being iffy.....probably have to wait til I get back home....

Appreciate the reports from the guys who made it to camp.....keep em coming !

Question for TC observers... the boxes on the field (they look to be about 5 ft on a side) with a X in the middle. What are those used for? They can be seen on pic 10 of this series: Patriots Training Camp - Day 1

At this point I think I know what Brace looks like.

He was in attendance but was not part of the practice (e.g., not in pads).

Also I did not say anything about Vereen. Only about Ridley.

Can you expand on that? What did you see to make you feel he was an attitude issue?

Near the end of the practice, the D made a mental error and had to run a lap around the field. The entire corp went, except for Brace who was standing there until the coaches barked at him to join his teammates.

Maybe he thought that because of his active/PUP status he would be except, and this would be a honest mistake, except for the body language he exhibited when told to catch up with everyone else.

Perhaps I am nitpicking or making too much of it, but I just thought there was too much "I" and not enough "team" in his demeanor.
