Check out the "news and notes" in the NFL section. There's one called "Patriots: Seau to return in 2007?" Evidently, he wants to. I say Welcome back, Junior!

Agreed. Count me among the skeptical when they brought him. But he was pretty stout in there, especially against the run. Plus, he's a Pats kind of guy: smart, intense and dedicated. I would have liked to have seen his tears of joy on the field in Miami after the Pats win Superbowl XLI.

He didnt say that he will return to the Patriots. He is l;eaving options opened. I hpe we re sign him, but seeing as he wants a Super Bowl ring, it appears that going back to the Chargers, for him, might be a good gamble....It is difficult choice for him, San Diego, a team that has not won a Super Bowl, but has possibilities, or a three time winner, also with strong possibilities.

I really hopr he stays here. His presence is a POSITIVE whether he is on the field or on the sideline, or in the locker room.

Hell, I would offer him a player/coach status to get him to stay.

With one of the better linebacking cores, with featured Shawne Merriman, who says San Diego would want him? They didn't want him two years ago when he went to Miami. Why now?

They copuld easily admit their mistake and then go after him, and he lives in SD, I believe.
San Diego letting Seau walk is as much of a mistake as New England cutting McGinest.

The only other surviving player from his draft is Matt Stover.

San Diego is absolutely stacked at linebacker.

You have to wonder about his durability though, I mean isn't this the third straight season he has ended on the IR? Gotta love his effort/intensity but at some point the body just cant keep up with the mind.

He would have to be a part time role player. We can't kid ourselves that he will start all season with his injury history. Put him in the Ted Johnson run stuffer role on first downs and goal lines.
