Brady in town; will lead workouts

I wonder who was guarding Slater on that throw ... Ty Warren?

There was a picture posted on ESPNboston.com showing players in Tees and shorts. It is safe to deduce from that, that there were no scrimmages. I would guess team drills and route-runnings were the order of the day.

actually you'd be wrong, as brady has done most of the same things rivers has, but they don't ever call him or peyton on it...even before peyton won a ring, when he was throwing his olinemen under the bus or yelling at teammates on the sidelines, the fickle media didn't care......because rivers is an easier target, because no one's going to care if a charger is attakced by the media......

espn back then went all fox news on him lol
My perspective is that Rivers acted like a spoiled brat early in his career and gained a reputation. I don't remember the specifics but his backbiting with Cutler comes to mind.
I don't know where you get that Brady has done the things that Rivers gained a bad reputation for, because it just hasn't happened.
Manning gets a pass for some reason I don't understand. I agree with you there.

The one time Slater was thrown a proper pass in a game that wasn't just a heave from Brady was the Texans game where Wes got hurt.

Think it was 4th and 10 and he caught one from Hoyer that was thrown behind him. He got nailed and kept hold of it. Unfortunately for him, Neal was called for Holding. Then Edelman converted 4th and 20 :D

Solder doesn't look much bigger than Brady in that shot.

Slater may not be much of a wide receiver, but the guy can run. He's probably the fastest guy on the team -- I'd bet it's between him, Price, and McCourty.

That Tom Brady guy is a complete ******* sissy. Sliding down waterslides and posing with sick children. Dude needs to rape or drive over somebody to up his street cred.

Well... Bardy is in the foreground. That does help. Also brady is a pretty tall dude no?

He's tall, but in the pic it does appear that the estimated 4" difference between them is a lot slighter. I believe Tom is a bit under 6'5", approx 6'4 1/2".

I do imagine that the foreground factor adds to that, but I really can't say, as I don't really know much about photography (although it is probably more 'common-sense' than photography I would assume, I don't know)

The height difference doesn't show up that much but i'm also talking about his overall size...he doesn't look very bulky even when compared to Brady.

I think he will definately need to add some muscle to handle the more powerful rushers in the league

Brady's soundbites make me think:

1. Brady was the coach-in-charge, deciding what was done in what order.
2. One of the people he asked for advice about what to do was Bruschi, who was indeed present.

If I were Brady, I'd say to a few trusted guys (captains, ex-captains, etc.) "Here's what I'm thinking of doing. What might I be overlooking?" and then incorporate some of their suggestions, iterating that process 2 or 3 times. That should be enough to make the workouts useful without ridiculously overburdening him doing the coaches' job.

NFL measurements of height and weight are generally incorrect. Unless people actually believe Wilfork is 320lbs.

This made me happy.

For one thing, it's as if Brady and the Pats were channeling their inner Belichick.

And a lot of the player-run work-outs have the feel of showing off, like look at us, we're working hard, tell the world. This has the feel of business-as-usual. Which is exactly what I'd expect.

Inner Belichik? LMFAO

Its how they all learned how to do business......

Inner Belichik......some people are @$%$&*$#$! hilarious

Speaking of Belichick, he rode all 50 miles in Tommy's cycling event down the cape this year. Second season in a row coach has shown up to support his QB.

I didn't read anywhere that Tedy was at the workouts. Considering Tom locked the media out I'd doubt it. I read there were a few private trainers in attendance.

Tom did make mention of Bru when he spoke to reporters last evening but that was because Tedy played on one of the teams in the Best Buddies game at Harvard. Media was welcome there. Breer was supposed to play but he couldn't get back from St. Louis. They were nearly all at the bike races today and some of them rode. Amazing what a lockout will do for coverage of and participation in your charity event - Tom noted attendance and participation was way up. This event should be sold out annually...

I meant the way they are locking out the media during their workouts, which is what the link was about.

But glad it amused you somehow :p

Just for kicks, if Brady is not 6'4 1/2", then what is he??

If Solder isn't around 6'8 1/2", then what is he??

As far as Wilfork goes, his current weight of "325" simply has not ever been updated since the combine results, which listed him at 323, and were taken down to the last 1/8 of an inch and pound by professional measurements that we have all seen take place in underwear and t-shirts. Here is a link from the draft scouts of 2004, in his last yr at the University of Miami.

*Vince Wilfork | Miami, DT : 2004 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile

Yes, there are some guys that have gotten bigger/smaller in their NFL tenure, but at the same time---they don't just pull these numbers out of the sky either. They may not always be 100% spot on entirely down to the exact pound, but they of course give us a general idea as they were taken professionally.
