6'8 Vollmer
6'8" Solder
350+lbs Cannon

This team seems to be completely changing their O-line style.

Chrisr Carter OLB is the top available player on Kiper's board.

For all the Herzlich fans, an honest question: if he hadn't played locally, what would have made him leap out at you as a Pats pick? He doesn't seem to fit the physical prototype, plus they're in excellent shape at ILB. I just don't see it.

I like him and foresee him being a STEAL circa 2-3 years

How many turnovers did the offense have against the Ravens in 09? Did the defense throw a pick on the opening drive and drop a TD pass against the Jets last year? Did the defense turn the ball over on Downs in there own end in a botched fake punt?

Totally agree. The defense is adequate and will be fine. Our PO losses was more the fault of the offense (gameplan, pass protection, etc) than the defense.

If you don't properly diagnose the problem, you never will solve it.

herzlich fits in our SB window and will only get BETTER

muscle memory ppl.

we get him he can play ST

easy to option to PUP and IR w/ a Cancer "problem" he needs to go to IR b/c of problem x. Fake or Real

We've always had pretty tall tackles in BB's time here, right back to Tom Ashworth. Vollmer and Solder are just the proto-types that have never been about before. They're just as agile and mobile as others we've had.

Cannon is very different though, without question.

3 years from now I'm predicting we love this draft, and i won't be surprised if every player picked so far is still on the roster with 4 of the 6 contributing significantly. I actually like this draft and think they have done well, add in the extra picks to the mix next year and they are really extending the window for this team for years and years.

Solder-Starting OT

Ras I-Dowling-Starting DB, not sure if he moves to safety.

Vereen-Regular in the RB rotation and producing significantly.

Ridley-Unsure about, will have to battle to stick.

Mallett-About as good a developmental project as you could get, he has all the tools, plenty of time, and no pressure at all.

Cannon-Should start at OG when he returns.

Good job. Bummed about no pass rusher but you can't have everything.

Stupid question: Any chance this kid was drafted as a OL to DL conversion project? He sure has the size.

OK! We get it, you love you some Herzlich.....stop giving your post count steroids.

I love the pick...... Top-50 talent (won't play this year likely, but his cancer is very treatable). He was a second rounder aside from the cancer. Pick for the future, and a good one.

I think BB has more respect for the D then the everyone else does. We don't need to get younger there. We need to get healthier and more experienced. Perhaps a FA or two, but what we need on D won't be addressed in the draft this year.

This year is CLEARLY about the running game and OL in general.

Cannon 35th in Gosselin's top 100.

No, he is a very good offensive lineman, IF he checks out medically, I would be shocked if he is not the starting gaurd in Miami come opening night.

Cannon is likely Neal's replacement, this year or next.

Individually the picks are fine, but I think its the way the draft unfolded that people don't like. Especially the Ridley pick in the 3rd. Back to back RB's just doesn't make a ton of sense.

I predicted our first 6 picks would be 2xOL, CB, possible RB, OLB or DE (only if a real stud is available early) and trade.

so, I was close.

My first 6 picks was CB/WR, LB, RB, 2 OL, QB. Only missed on one (positionwise). My last two picks are Romeus and Herzlich

Fusco's still on the board. Come on Bill.

His immune system will take a beating during treatment. I hope he doesn't get Pneumonia or some other infection in the next few months. If he recovers and gets healthy I won't care if he doesn't pan out as a draft pick. Get well Marcus.

I think he was drafted to replace Mankins and I think Belichik looked at the way the eagles built their OL, huge, and decided it was time to move to a mammoth OL, and it doesn't appear he has been sacrificing too much athleticism in doing so. There is a good chance he has rebuilt 3/5 of their OL for the future and will have to address Center in the next draft.
