LeShoure would have been a much better value pick over Vereen, they need a lead back type like LeShoure and Vereen isn't the answer. He could have been picked in the 3rd maybe even 4th round and I personally think DeMarco Murray is more of a home run hitter than Vereen. I just don't get some of these picks they're making. I know we have to wait and see how these players develop but I was much more excited last year when they picked Gronkowski, Hernandez and Cunningham in the second round because I knew they would make an impact early, these players that they're picking in the second don't seem to have that type of upside. I don't hate the picks they've made but they could be doing much better.

Runs hard and low to the ground. Mayock noted the pass-catching and blocking ability, called Leshoure "soft"

LeShoure = Maroney II

NO thank you.. Dances to much

Vereen put up 31 reps of 225. Beastly.

As a card-carrying member of the anti-Leshoure brigade from the beginning, I'll just quote myself from 3 days ago:

The more I look at my little list above, the more I find Shane Vereen emerging as the best all-around skill/value package.

I don't understand a lot of this picks either, but i think BB is probably a better drafter than I so i gotta trust him. I liked Leshoure too, Vereen is a beast though

I really like everything I've seen from Vereen. Not sure where that leaves Woodhead though

Hopefully with a longer, healthier career as a valuable situational player.

I can't disagree more.

I'll take Vereen over Leshoure for the Pats offense every single time. Vereen is a weapon with speed and shiftiness, he can catch passes, and pass block. He's a complete player. Not quite as electric as Best last year, but with better size at 5'11 210 lbs so he can take the NFL pounding better. He also runs low to the ground and doesn't shy away from contact either so I wouldn't discount him on the inside. Vereen is a good complementary back to BJGE and a guy who's like another wide receiver when he's on the field.

Something must be wrong. I don't totally hate this pick. Kinda meh, but not @#$%.

I also disagree. I was hoping that we wouldn't go after LeShoure, so I'm happy that they took Vereen. Maybe a little early, but you can't complain at all. Vereen compliments BJGE.

love it. I was pissed we passed on Ingram, but this is a nice 2nd choice. However i did think he was gonna be a 3rd rounder. Feel we reached a little. All these analysts are saying he cant be "the guy" but i think he can do it all. not the biggest guy, but him and woodhead with BGE backing him up (where he belongs) we should be fine. Some scouts are saying hes better than Javid Best, just didnt get alot of reps. Feel like we needed a guy that can do it all run and catch. get a little to predictable with either BGE or Woodhead. anyway....LOVE IT.

Why do they need a lead back? We're a RB by committee team, who now has the ability to shift our style from one drive to the next... even one play to the next. It's intriguing.

Double TE, Double RB packages.....what?

sorry, i just blew your mind.

Actually Vereen = Faulk

and Ridley alternates with BJGE

Woodhead is a change of pace/odd alignment guy

also avoiding drafting a OG means that they must be confident of moving someone they have to G, and/or that Mankins will be back.

Exactly my thoughts when watching him play, I follow the Big 10 and never have liked LeShoure at all. I've been on Vereen since Feb, my thought was somewhere in Rd 2-3 Pats would consider him. I also love Ridley, never got much pub but when you watch him play and read his scouting reports the only thing he lacks is experience and for a RB more tred is better for the style of RB he is.

I think a lot of teams were put off with Leshoure's abrasive personality. Apparently he is a bit of a cancer in the locker room.

I like Shane's speed and cutting ability as well as his pass catching ability.

IF he can pick up the blitz and pass protect, he is a super solid addition to the team and a dangerous third down weapon.

LeShoure is Maroney. Vereen is Kevin Faulk who can run inside. Take your pick.
