Every year we try. Most years we fail. Time to try again! Why? Because we're gluttons for punishment! And because it sure beats reading about CBA litigation.

The Patriots have 9 picks. Name 9 players you think they might take. That's all there is to it. You can list 9 offensive linemen, only first rounders, no first rounders, whatever you like. Each player actually drafted by the Patriots earns you a point. Any score above 1 is hot stuff.

(Mark Morse has introduced an intriguing new wrinkle this year with a weighted, slotted contest. But I received enough requests for the classic lazy version, I figured I'd post this too. Enter both and give yourself 2 chances to look smart!)

One practical note: to assure that your brilliant guesses are counted, make sure to use full first & last names and spell them right.

Nooooo! I'm getting graded on spellink! :bricks:

Not to nitpick, but wasn't it 10 players we were selecting?

Number of draft picks heading to the draft, last year it was 10.

The Pats have 1a/1b, 2a/2b, 3a/3b, 4, 5, 6 = 9 picks total.

Of course, go figure that the one year (last year) that I don't do the joke all-TE mock, they take two of 'em. . . .

Someone did a joke all Florida Gator draft, then retracted it. Can't remember who...

Do I get any credit if the Eagles end up taking 2/3 of these guys like they did my 2010 picks?

We are now moving on to year Seven still batting .000

Although I did make a "joke" entry last year of 12 guys all named Brandon and got two right which has inspired my actual selections for this year.......

Cameron Jordan, DE California- Size, Strength, Speed
Jordan Cameron, TE USC- just on name and position alone
Jordan Todman, RB UConn- ditto
Tyler Sash, S Iowa- if nothing else, and absolute ST demon
John Moffitt, G Wisconsin- mean, nasty
Anthony Costanzo, OT BC- BC OT, you really can't go wrong
Charles Clay, FB, Tulsa- Swiss army knife in cleats
Jonathan Baldwin, WR Pittsburg- alot of talent and height, may slip into late second early third
Bruce Carter, OLB North Carolina (This guy is going to be a steal for someone in the later rounds, most likely will have to start on the PUP, but is a true sideline to sidline OLB)

I'm still very confused so I'll have to wait until my feet are over the fire. Should I post it before or after my traditional/annual pre-draft round of golf?

Before, spending the day in the rough looking for other golfer's lost balls to add to your collection will not clear your mind and probably just lead to the death of helpless brain cells and critical memory loss.

On a related note, Kevin Na is my new golf hero.

I've been uncharacteristically on the same picks for a while so I doubt I'll be changing now:

DE Cam Jordan
OT Gabe Carimi
OLB Jabaal Sheard
RB Ryan Williams
OG Clint Boling
S Deunta Williams
C Jake Kirkpatrick
CB Richard Sherman
DE Frank Kearse

JJ Watt
Danny Watkins
Allen Bailey
Stefen Wisniewski
James Carpenter
Shane Vereen
Jaiquawn Jarrett
Anthony Sherman
Karl Klug

Nothing fancy, just the first 9 guys of the mock I made (last two are Will Yeatman and Dain Taylor).
