Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Any time someone uses "They haven't won since spygate" or "They haven't won since 2004" as if it's an end-all, you know they've got no argument.

It's true that they've not won the Super Bowl since 2004. They have, however, gone 16-0 and been to a Super Bowl and an AFCCG since then. That's not enough to make us all happy, since we're not Colts fans from the beginning of the decade, but it's enough to put the lie to the sort of nonsense Parker is spouting.

This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great decade. Just not great enuf! :)

Rob Parker's conception was a fluke

Relax it was on First Take no one saw it and anyone who did accidently stop by immediately dismissed it. Anything featuring Skip Bayless cannot be taken seriously. Its about an accurate a show as Sports Dome.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

This guy questions all things Pats-related like he's one of those die-hard Jets fans posting on Jets Insider forum. Not even going to bother watching that video.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

I haven't watched or clicked on any link with those 4 letters since 2007. Have absolutely no idea who this guy Barker is but my guess is he's looking for some attention from the Boston market. Can't imagine he's too proud of what he has to stoop to so he can earn a living.

"Daddy, what did you do at work today?" "Oh, I went on TV and took some cheap shots at a player and I got 100 extra clicks on my website and .50 cents in my pocket."

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Rob Parker is another mediot who has a agenda... he has been anti brady for as long as that show was named cold pizza.. that show needs to go away....

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

From 2005-2010
The Patriots are 73-23, 2nd best in the NFL.
The have scored the most points in the league.
They have allowed the 3rd fewest points in the league.
They are tied for 3rd in playoff wins.

Aside from 01-04 it is by far the most successful period in franchise history.
Sure, we have grown accustomed to setting the bar by championships, but with the bar in any other place (which it is for 31 or 32 teams each year) it has been a very successful 6 years.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Rob Parker is a bigger idiot than Bayless. I don't even watch when that goon comes on 1st and 10

He's a huge Boston hater.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Listening to Rob Parker's remarks, his comments can be seen as being directed at the odds makers, not the Patriots. He isn't necessarily saying that the Patriots are living in the past, but the odds makers [who made the Patriots 8 to 1 favorites to win the Super Bowl]. And to a certain degree [being unrelated], I think the media and others admonish the Patriots of home losses in the playoffs due to their success in the regular season, the youth of the roster, Tom Brady, Belichick and their history of success [which funnels back to Brady and Belichick].

Notice how he says he is annoyed by the Cowboys being the third highest favored to win the Super Bowl next season... he isn't directing that to the Cowboys.

In either case, Rob Parker would be wrong in his assessment.

When setting the odds, don't you think that the odds makers would favor a team that has proven to perform well in the regular season, plays in a fairly weak division and consistently makes the playoffs? Sure, the odds makers could put the Saints up there, but it isn't a given that they will make the playoffs next year [see the Falcons and the rise of the Bucs].

And I suppose I shouldn't say that it is a given that the Patriots will make the playoffs, but for the sake of argument, I am. Point being... you can't win the Super Bowl without going to the Playoffs and the Patriots [IMO] have the best chance of making the playoffs considering the youth, QB and HC.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Point to Rob Parker... having six picks in the first three rounds doesn't mean much of anything.

Picks don't play football.

Players do.

On the topic of the thread:

Rob Parker doesn't substantiate his opinion of 2011 being a fluke for Tom Brady. Stating something doesn't make it a fact. It'd be one thing if he pointed out a late season regression of the rookie tight ends or questions on the offensive line, but no. He doesn't mention any of that... which proves to me that he has an agenda.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

He writes for ESPN New York...nuff said!!!

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Not going to bother giving this clown a click...BUT to say they haven't won "anything" since spygate...they came within three f#cking fluke plays in ONE DRIVE IN ONE DRIVE IN ONE F#CKING DRIVE of winning the SB with an unblemished record....yes, they've sucked in their last few playoff games and have lost three in a row, BUT all they need is for Brady to get his head out of his arse and play well in the playoffs - it may sound trivial, but Brady has never played the way we know he can play and expect him to play...and lost in the playoffs...

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

I don't know how he could predict us to go to the Superbowl before the season began. And then before the playoff game change his mind and pick the Jets to beat us. And then come up with this article which I didn't click on btw. Talk about multpiple personalities. He is all over the place.

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Heh, I thought it said Bob Barker at first. Then I saw the name "Rob Parker" and wondered who the hell he was.

Greetings,
Nothing should EVER be taken seriously by that idiot Rob Parker. This fool said on national television he was sick of the Patriots and hoped the Playoff game versus the Ravens would be a loss and end the Patriots dominance. So much for journalist being "objective"!!
Peace,

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Parker may be right, but his emphasis is wrong. BB has built a finesse team compared to the '01-'04 teams. Smallish skill players vs pounding types like Antowain Smith and Cory Dillon. The defense looks to confuse the QB instead of pounding the QB like back in the day. Its no wonder that the latest version wilts vs more physical teams like the Ravens and Jets.
I fear that Mankins will move on thus removing the most physical presence on offense and the toughness level will be diminished further

Re: "Tom Brady's season a fluke": Rob Parker

Tom Brady's 2010 season may not be a "fluke", because he's had incredible seasons before, but a TD:INT ratio like he had will almost certainly not be duplicated. There's a reason why it was an NFL record. I think it's reasonable to expect Brady to be really, really good in 2011, but not as good as he was in 2010. Hopefully the Pats will improve in other areas to more than make up for it.
