The Packers will beat the Steelers, and this is why.

I also posted a breakdown of every Packers game this season on my Steelers forum. Packers were 1-2 when trailing at halftime and 0-2 when the game was tied at halftime.

If the Packers fall behind early, I like the Steelers to put the pedal to the metal and really bring it hard to finish out. Unlike "letting up" against the Jets.
Do you have a link to that forum so we can take a look?

As for the Packers record when they are not winning at halftime, I wouldn't put much stock in that. Besides the rather small sample size, how does that compare to the 31 other teams in the league? For all we know a .333 winning percentage when trailing at half time may be among the league's best.

If I recall correctly from when the Packers played the Patriots earlier this year Green Bay's worst loss of the season was 4 points (to the Pats). You can look at that one of two ways: that they won't know how to handle being down by a touchdown or more if that should happen; or that they're used to close games so if the Steelers grab a lead they're not going to freak out.

As for the Steelers putting the pedal to the metal and really bringing it hard: careful what you wish for; do you really want to take your chances with those four GB wide receivers getting single coverage against the Steeler defensive backs?

Just saw that Pouncey is out, that's pretty huge.

I still have a sinking feeling that the Steelers pull it out to get #7 and I'll probably have to avoid facebook/going anywhere outside other than work for the next couple weeks. Really sucks living in Steeler nation it's the only reason I couldn't fully enjoy the Jets losing.

As good as GB has been lately and how they should win based upon matchups IMO, I don't really see them blowing Pitt out the water. I see a close game and the advantage goes to Big Ben/Pittsburgh if it's a tight game in the 4th.

Me am also a big Pat Nut...so I agree with PTM..no "expert" breakdown..I just see a whole lot of positives going forward for the Pats if GB wins...

first off, if GB wins it sticks a bag of quick drying cement in "Brayette Farver!!!!"'s nonstop drama mouth....THAT'S a win for Pats fans and everybody else too

secondly,if GB wins then Toey McSnifferblubberblabberguts has to face the realization that not only did Pitt lead from start to finish in the AFC champ game, but GB SHUT his rats OUT at home after a bye, so in reality the Rats had no business even thinking they belonged in this game and Blubbering "This Little Piggy" Cryan will have to endure a lot of direct criticism if he continues his "We're the BEST team in the NFL!!!!!" schtick. Unless the degenerate openly boasts that the "2nd most important game in Jet history!!!!" was actually the Rat Super Bowl, he'll be wearing an entire egg farm on his face all offseason...which he'd probably enjoy.

I've been reading a lot about how BJ Raji and Cullen Jenkins should have field days but the last time the Packers were in the Super Bowl, their defensive line featuring Reggie White and Gilbert Brown was supposed to dominate the opposing offensive line too, but of course they were completely destroyed instead.

If the Steelers run the ball well early and wear down Green Bay's big guys, I think they'll win pretty comfortably.

The Steelers are going to win this game.

1. Packers are wasting time with intra-mural nonsense re pictures. Shows that they are SB rookies.

2. Ben is very good in big games.

3. Experience factor.

4. I don't buy Mike McCarthy in a big spot.

5. Packers struggled to beat a Bears team that didn't have it's top QB and that really isn't that good.

6. That the Steelers only have had to play two playoff games in an edge.

7. I have wagered on the Steelers and I never lose SB bets. Never.

Nothing personal, but I hope you lose this one. Rapesberger and Harrison, in particular, do not deserve to win the Superbowl Championship. Nasty pieces of work.

Pushing my dislike for the Steelers aside, I think the Packers will win the Super Bowl this year and here is why.

The Packers have Aaron Rodgers and some very good receivers. If the OL can protect, Rodgers, like TFB, will pick them apart. Even the Jets had success passing againts the Steelers once they got out of the ground and pound.

Couple that with some defensive play makers. If they can limit the Steelers running game to under 125 yards, they win. I'm not saying that Rapistberger will not have his moments, but without a dominant running game, the Steelers will not win.

Agree? Disagree?

I totally agree and after the Packers performance during the first round of the playoffs I thought the same thing if we faced them. I really do not think the Steelers cant stop Rodgers if he spreads them out. Pitt just is not built to stop the pass *watch the game vs us* but they can shut down Baltimore and the Jets with great run games. It is kinda funny because everyone talks about running the ball and playing great defense is the key to a championship but I think GB will prove this wrong.

If we made it to the superbowl I would have been worried about our match up vs GB as they almost beat us without Arron Rodgers. Troy P will be a key player in this game but they just do not have the third and fourth corners to match up with the Packers.

Pittsburgh did slow down a great spread offense two years ago in the Superbowl so I am sure **** Lebeau will have something up his sleeve and Warner is much like Rodgers minus the running:D

ULTIMATE PACKERS BREAKDOWN!!! PACKERS WEEK! SUPER BOWL EDITION!!!!!!!!!!

I don't see Pouncey as a huge factor. Legursky is a solid back up C and he's had two weeks to practice with the first team.

Should be a close game in my view.

But the Steelers will win this one.

I don't think Legursky will be awful, but Raji would have been a tough match-up even for Pouncey. The Steelers OL wasn't great even with Pouncey, so they'll have to step up. Agree that it will be a close game.
