Roger Goodell needs to **** off. This guy is a disgrace and one of the worst commissioners in sports history imo. Look at the amount of garbage that has gone on under his watch.

Let me see.

Fines over a million dollars, loss of a draft pick, for a rules violation.

Destroys the evidence, making the whole thing seem like its some kind of cover up.

If anybody should feel deceived, it the Patriots organization, and fans. We were deceived into thinking this guy was competent enough for his job.

IMO, he did the most damage during Spygate. His actions helped fuel the perception of foul play, and I personally will never forgive him for that.

His over-reactionary style of justice, which appears to mostly cater to media scrutiny, is in a word, pathetic.

As is his need to pander to the media, as he did this week with King sharing the little Roethlisberger non support snippet (that King also butchered) during HIS superbowl week.... I don't care much for DeMaurice Smith, but I can understand why there is no trust between him and this commissioner. Goodell is insecure (which is why he relied on counsel from Polian and Fisher and the self important clowns on the competition committee in dealing with the taping violation) and as a result also indiscreet in his dealings with the media in an effort to paint himself in the best possible light...

Woah. lol That's a little harsh. He has his moments, but saying "he is one of the worst sports commissioners in sports history" seems at tad over exaggerated, don't ya think?

I don't understand why all of a sudden he decided to bring up this old news but THIS definitely doesn't make anyone look good. Him, the League, or BB.

This certainly explains Goodell's snub of the Patriots on the SB podium after the 18 - 0 Patriots lost a last minute heartbreaker to the Giants.
Goodell's actions that day and his comments 3 years later certainly cement my view that the job of Commish is a little too big for Rog.

Goodell is the definition of a corporate toadie. How exactly does one land a 10mill/yr job like this, anyway?

Correct. He hasn't the intellect nor the "touch" for the position. He's in way over his head. It's nothing to be ashamed about. He's simply in a position which requires more than he has. Now, staying in the position when all of the evidence points to the fact that you're overmatched? That is something to be ashamed about.

who really cares about this? **** goodell, he's tryin to act like the good guy and say "ill lower my salary to 1$" when in reality he's all about generating more $$$ for him and the owners that control him by extending the season. Can I blame him for wanting more revenue, of course not. Do not however, put on a front and pretend you aren't all about money. The pats and BB were punished for what they did, I bet BB doesn't give a **** about what goodell has to say.

There must be more behind this than just "Goodell's grudge". I believe Kraft would hold his cards close to his chest until he knows the full story(or most effective way to deal w it).

This type of press effects the team image slash business, market share etc... other organizations have something to gain from this even if its a little. I've seen similar underhanded things working in corporate america. other organizations may be involved.

Just a thought

Also, calling to much attention to a meaningless incident could backfire.

I don't know if anyone saw this but Kraft made some comments recently basically praising Goodell. But he had a great backhanded compliment in there indicating that the owners thought he was an idiot during the interview process:

"His intellect at so many different projects is much greater than we gave him credit for during the interview process,''

Dear Mr Goodell, instead of rehasing a subject that people cant seem to let go over , because of your destroying of tapes that had no bearing on the outcome of games...How bout settle the dispute players and owners.. Make the fans proud and get the cba done not how good you look in peter kings eyes...

Haha good for BB. Goodell sounds like a lkttle school girl here

I love BB but he's a douchebag to everyone else and we really need to win a SB outside of the Spygate cloud just to reinforce legitimacy.

Once again, folks, read post #25.

"THAT WEEK" - - meaning the time before he handed down his penalty. NOT 3-4 months later.

I'm not in favor of how Goodell screwed the Pats, but folks, take some time and read more carefully.

So your saying Goodell came down hard on BB and the Pats because BB "deceived" him?
If true, its petty and he should be above such behavior in his position.

...and why should I believe anything GODell says. I've heard only one side of the story. GODell's side. Pardon me if I don't feel like being gullible. The man is a scumbag. Shame on Kraft for supporting him.

The most powerful man in the NFL was unable to enforce his ruling? We're supposed to buy that?
