My best friend in the world is a HUGE Steelers fan. Given that we live in the NY area, he was invited by MANY Jets fans to go with them to the game on Sunday. (There will be a TON of Jets fans at that game...Jet Blue added flights). He could not bear the thought of being with Jets fans on the way to and from the game and did not want to sit with them at Heinz, as he hates the Jets and NY sports fans in general as much as any sane human being would.

So he offered to buy me a ticket if I would join him at the game.

DONE.

We're going.

Any thoughts on how to handle this? I don't have second favorite teams and if I did, the Steelers would not be it. I sort of like the Saints but even there, it's only because the team and city have been so pathetic for so long that I felt sort of badly for them. And if the Saints were playing the Pats, I'd have many dark thoughts about the Saints, NO and all of the Saints players.

That said, I will be able to root for the Steelers with all my heart given my Jets hate.

Still, this is rare ground for me so I'll take whatever thoughts people want to offer.

Advice? Go and have a good time! Maybe wear something Pats, like a hat or sweatshirt, just so people know the situation you're in.

The way NE Patriot fans luck has been going in the post season, cheer for the Jets and bring them bad luck.

Steal the Angry Fire Elf's helmet if you can and bring it back as a souvenir. Also, make sure and take some photos of Green Beans fans crying after the loss then post them here.

I hope you have a good time, but the trip you describe is unfathomable to me. Given the choice between your trip and a one-way ticket to everlasting damnation in hell, I'd have to think about it for a while - before opting for the latter.

Yeah, I get that, but I enjoy rooting against the Jets (and the Yankees, for that matter) A LOT.

I'll be able to get into Anti-Jets state of mind and really enjoy the game if the Steelers win. And if they lose, well I don't really actually like Steelers, so I wont be all bummed out as if it was a Pats loss.

Again, I know what you mean as a lot of Pats fans have told me that they wont even watch the game.

You're not in a great situation man. Jets lose, Ben could be going for his third . . .
But, ironically, my best friend's a Steelers fan too. I don't know if I could put myself through what you're doing though :p

I think it's great that the Jets will ruin your Sunday in back-to-back weeks :) In all seriousness, you're there to support your friend and have a good time. Enjoy the game.

Count me in that crowd. Sunday night I bought tickets for a 5pm Lightning game. I don't think I will be watching either game, the thought of it still makes me queasy.

That is true but I still have this incomplete feeling in my stomach from Sunday. Only way it will get better is if the Jets lose. I know Steelers going to a SBowl will be tough to take but I do think that the Packers (if they get there) will beat them.

Either way - I want to see the Jetsies lose and see their faces right after that. Knowing they have blown 2 straight opportunities to go to the SuperBowl. I just need that tonic. Can't wait till Sunday night to see a Jet loss.

Please oh please let the Jets lose......I need it for my own health and well being. I want that rat infested organization to NEVER have a chance to even sniff the Lombardi Trophy.

I MIGHT watch the NFCCG, but I'm pretty well in NHL mode right now. I'll probably skip the SB too. Either the Jets or Steelers will be in it. **** that.

Your friend will be happy. The Jets won their SB last Sunday. Their dumbass fans won't know what hit them. Now that would be worth the price of admission. A bunch of scumbag Jets fans crying in terrible towels.

Nice, im going too.

Wishing you a truly miserable time, filled with despair and lasting heartache. :rocker::singing::rocker::singing:

Wave that terrible towel for all it's worth!

Awww, poor Bruno, and your bruised ego. The Jets smacked your boys around, deal with it. Doesn't matter what happens this Sunday because last Sunday the Jets took care of your team and your fan base. I love the fact that you all think you are high and mighty compared to Jets fans. truth is that the vast majority of you are as classless as you make Jets fans out to be. Go ahead, read all the posts about how you hope the Jets lose and that you'd love to see the fan base updet....that's classy. Well, guess what, every Jet fan wants the Jets to get to the SB (duh), but it's been a terrific treat to see most of you suffer. Maybe if most NE fans weren't so obnoxious, I'd feel differently. But, because of your condescending, unclassy ways, this week has been terrific, regardless of what happens on Sunday. It will be doubly delicious if the Jets win, sending the Jets to the SB, and knowing how much that will continue to torment the likes of you.

Why haven't you been banned yet? Mods must've somehow overlooked your nonsense.

Wh should I be banned for speaking the truth? The majority of what I read here is how awful and unclassy Jets fans are, an overgeneraliztion for sure. Just like it's an overgeneralization for me to say that all Pats fans, or all Pats fans that post here are one thing or the other. But, the reality is that many, many fans here complain about Jets fans and how classless they are. How classy is it to hope the Jets lose so that they fan base is upset? That was the point of the post. Why shouldn't I enjoy the fact that your fan base feels badly about the outcome of last Sundays game? The vast majority of you here were sure that the Pats would stomp the Jets - didn't happen. The vast majority of you could help but recite 45-3 like a mantra for weeks -meant nothing in the end, did it?

I just simply stated my opinion and some facts. If that is a banable offense, you've got bigger problems here than coping with a loss to a rival team you thought you'd have your way with.

Why shouldn't Jets fans feel disrespected by the majority if the Pats fan base. It's been clear to me that you all are giddy any time the Jets lose. So, why shouldn't I be giddy when the Pats lose to the Jets?

I have posted here for sometime, and for the most part, have been respectful. I chose to answer posts that were clearly not classy and pointed out some truth.

That's certainly your right. Posting it on a Patriots fans website is another matter entirely, and you're a total ass for doing so.

I have posted here for sometime, and for the most part, have been respectful.

That apparently has ended. You believe in treating what you perceive to be a negative with a negative. No one here appreciates it and we don't need your crap regardless of how "truthful" you think it is. Hopefully you will be banned soon.

Just treat it as you're adding Heinz Field to the list of stadiums you've visited
