WTF really?

This is confusing and annoying at the same time. I mean we had to put up with it why shouldnt they? Is it because they feared us and not the steelers? Or is it because they hate us and respect them? Or maybe they are just scared of the Steelers?

The only thing I can say is hopefully they take themselves out of their own mental game. They have lived on this we are better than the world and we will prove it on sunday now all sudden they respect someone.

Because the Steelers are tough and will ram the ball down their throats. Pittsburgh is not afarid to slug them in the mouth and then do it again. That is not how the Pats play we are not tough enough.

I've had it with this season......so sad to see it end that way, would have been ok to have it end against a class team but against brash mouthed thugs? ugh!!

must regroup and move on to the draft now :(

Brash mouthed thugs? If you want to let what 5 or 6 people say make you think that the remainign players and coaches are all the same, that's your faulty logic.

Go ahead and read the 1 or 2 lines from a press conference that are taken selectively to by reporters to mold the image of a coach and team that they want to portray, but if you did a little leg work and educated yourself on the issue before talking about it (ie. reading a press conference transcript), you'd understand that 95% of the pregame talk coming from the coach mentioned that 2 key people in the Pats organization are the best or among the best at what they do.

One player chose to use expletives to express his distaste for one opposing player and some actions which personally offended him. He's an individual, he can speak his mind. As for the rest of the team...you heard the typical robot answers that the NFL, and apparently Patriots fans, seem to like. But you wouldn't know that, because you choose to get your opinion from a bunch of guys who never played football at the pro or college level and therefore don't have the perspective or knowledge to write about the game of football. Instead, they take a TMZ approach to the game and we get people who think they're football fans acting like teenage girls and getting mad about what they heard someone said. Listen to Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan on Sirius if you want football talk. If you read Peter King, Jason La Canfora, Florio, etc. you're getting the perspective of an atheltic wannabe who couldn;t explain what a 3-technique does if his life depended on it.

Now hold on a second. The Jets talked trash leading up to the Monday night game, and the Patriots went out and bashed them on the field. Just because it did not happen this past Sunday does not mean this Patriots team is undoubtedly "too nice for its own good."
I think I'll take the playoff victory over a regular season game thanks. Who really cares if we're flat track bullies these days? I know I don't anymore.

Pity the team didn't have that fire sunday. Another whooping in the post season really would have shut them up.

Worse, we have now given them enough ammunition to keep yapping for the next decade.

No fire? We let them insult our qb in public like nobody has and let them slap us more on the field. And this in spite of an extra week of preparation. So, in addition to lack of fire, I would say that we were spineless on Sunday.

So what the hell happened in the locker room before the game. Some media reports pointed towards something happening just before the game. Is it just Welker's benching or something else ?

Yup. Steelers are also bullies on the field and will match them physically. There's no need to rile them up. With us and the Colts, Ryan knew that they were the bigger more physical team so he knew his Jets could smash us physically. So it worked to his Jets advantage to bait us into a physical game.

As would I, but I think this Patriots team is inconsistent when it comes to bringing mental toughness and physicality to each and every game. Unfortunately, the inconsistencies flared up at the most inopportune times (e.g. the last two playoff games).

You guys are overexaggerating this stuff.

It's ridiculous.

The story of the game was poor execution by the Patriots. It had very little to do with all the bravado. They heard the same exact crap a few weeks ago before the 45-3 game.

Wow....now there's a man who knows his stuff!....thx Nashville!

This is where having so much success can come back to bite you. Rob knows NE's system, as does Mangini. Rob has likely discussed NE's system's in detail with his brother. Rob's knowledge of NE's system would be greater than 2000-2003, as he worked with Mangini, and he was BB's right hand man before taking the Jets HC job. So, basically BB's own success and this league being the copycat league that it is, has in part lead to NE's recent failures.

This is a total crock of ****. Jets have been trash-talking us because they were afraid of us. They don't have to trash talk the Steelers because they have all the confidence in the world right now.

So much for no trash talk.

Cromartie talking about Hines Ward during an SNY interview tonight...

I don't think he's a dirty player, but I know for a fact that he will hit you while you're not looking.

I don't think he's man enough to hit you when you're looking at him.
