Revis to Pats: "Take the loss like a man"

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

In fairness to Revis, he didn't partake in the complaining about Brady's taunting when asked about it. So at least he is being consistent here. If I hear Cromartie, LT, or Braylen say anything about Deion's comment after all their BS then **** them.

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

Branch was upset because some of the Jets refused to shake hands. A few of them also gave the finger to fans.

Rex got pelted with drinks and snowballs. O well..I really dont get offended by this stuff anymore. It goes both ways. Any fan that really gets upset and cares is a p****. Its football, time to man up.

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

Hey I was here before the season and have taken my fair share of abuse. I think a little gloating is deserved. As far as the celebration crap, you earn that when you win. I never complained about the Pats celebrating I only bring it up when people claim the Jets are classless. Pats have done over the top stuff as well.

This I agree with. Jets won, so they can do whatever the hell they want. I do think Branch made a decent point in that some players were going at it with the fans, but I'm sure those fans were asking for to some degree.

Although lets not pretend the Jets didn't do the same thing Branch did.
"HE POINTED AT OUR SIDELINES AND WAS DISRESPECTFUL!!!! THEY RAN THE SCORE UP ON US, NO CLASS!!!!"

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

So when Jared Allen does his "calf-roping" celebration and Merriman does "lights out"..you really think they are rubbing it in? If you do you are very sensitive. You dont think its just something they celebrate with and get the crowd pumped up after a big play? I think it has a little different meaning when somebody on a opposing team uses it.
As a matter of fact, yes - I do think the primary reason is to rub it in the face of the opposition.

Also, if the purpose is to get the crowd pumped up, then how do you explain them doing it during a road game?

Either all the example are fun celebrations or all are taunting.

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

He isn't wrong. And the Jets don't celebrate like idiots if they don't win.

What does this even mean?

They don't celebrate like idiots if they don't win?

What are you even talking about?

Are you talking about celebrating in a loss?

Have you not watched much Jet football?

They are always celebrating in losses.

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

Seriously??? If someone has a trademark celebration and somebody else on an opposing team does it..its taunting. Think about it.

That's just stupid. What's your IQ?

The fact you are here debating whether or not a celebration is taunting would indicate the above statement is not true - either that or that you yourself fit in the category of your third sentence.

Those were drinks and hot dogs. They were giving Rex food. They were probably hopeful that he would choose them to fill some holes in his bedroom.

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

I didn't like Branch's comments unless they were about something truly classless (i.e. not postgame celebrating).

That being said, Branch made those within a half hour after the game. For Revis to answer on Monday is just stupid. Move on? Uh, Revis, you're the one that needs to move on.

Really- it's hard to understand? The Jets didn't play nighty-nighty night in the endzone or fly around the field with arms out or do back flips at the end of the game when they lost last time.

The Patriots don't bother to complain about the other team's post-game antics if the Patriots win.

Except they did!!!!

LdT was dancing it up out there.

Did you miss it?

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

when merriman did hte lights out dance for celebration, it's ok

when the stupid jets did the stupid airplane dance for celebration, it's ok

when brady points his finger for celebration, it's not ok

what stupid logic is this?

i think revis should tell that to his teammates, last time they lost they whined and complained like they ran up the score, they did it on purpose...

revis should tell his teammates that when the steelers kick their ass this week

I never said that...I actually disagreed with Cromartie

Uh, he was asked the question on Monday so he, uh gave an answer on Monday.

i didnt like branch's comments either and bruschi agrees
4. Deion Branch and trash talk. After the game, receiver Deion Branch talked about some of the Jets showing a lack of class. I'm not with him on this one. I'm sure he felt terribly about the loss, but I think if the Patriots had won this game, they'd have had a similar reaction at the end of the game.

Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes didn't exactly endear themselves to the Patriots with this display at the end of the game, but the fact of the matter is they deserved to celebrate.
In playoff games like this, whether it's against the Colts, Chargers or Jets, there is always a lot of trash talk on the field. It could come from Brady, Vince Wilfork. I was involved with it many times. It happens on the field. Emotions are flying; things are said; and, after you win a game like this, you celebrate. In the playoffs, everything is magnified.

In 2006, when we beat the San Diego Chargers, players stood on the logo and did Shawne Merriman's "Lights Out" dance. In the 45-3 victory over the Jets in the regular season, Patriots players were celebrating by doing the "Jet" around the field with their arms outstretched. So to see the Jets fly their Jets around the field and in the end zone, and Shonn Greene use the football as a pillow because he was putting the Patriots to sleep, that's what you should have expected to see. It was a knockout blow. The game was over. Rex Ryan was right when he said it was the second biggest game in the Jets' franchise history. They deserved to celebrate. It's all within the game, but it's more magnified when it ends a team's season.

I guess so. He danced after the game? Good for him. He needed the practice.

Regardless - who cares what the Jets did after the game? Come on, Deion. Stop complaining.

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

This team should be embarrassed... I can't believe we actually caved to their talk and bravado.

How is this accurate? Your 14-2 with a young team. Your boys fought hard for that, but you want to dismiss it ALL, All they have accomplished, for what?

Your embarrassed? What, they embarrassed you? These guys fought their guts out for you and had a bad day. Now you give up on them because of 1 game.
You really believe any of your boys walked onto that field expecting to lose and not giving a dang what you thought?
They tried, just wasn't their day. You where not out coached, and you were not beaten by a better team.

pats fans actually threw stuff at the jets head coach? wow

Re: "Take the loss like a man"

Revis is right. Why are any Pats players still talking about the game? They got their asses handed to them on their home field, and that's that.
