No Tip of the Hat to the Jets From Me

Amen to that. Best case scenario for me is for the Jets to win next week, and then go down two weeks later to (hopefully) Green Bay - because Chicago's not winning it all, I just don't see it.

My reasoning? I don't think the Jets could beat the Packers, but I think the Steelers could, and I don't want to listen to all the Steelers fans talk about how Roethlisberger is as good of a quarterback as Brady because he has three rings. We have enough nonsense to deal with in here from other fans...believe me, no one needs to listen to that

But should New York win and the Bears end up going...it will be a long offseason here - because as I said I don't see the Bears beating either of the teams playing for the AFC next Sunday.

I would rather deal with the Big Ben comparisons than the Jets even sniffing the SB anyday, anyhow.

I don't know about that...because that comparison is forever. The Jets getting to a Super Bowl and not winning it goes away, especially if they don't make it back. I don't want them to go either, but I think the Steelers are stronger than Green Bay. I don't think Sanchez would fare well against that defense, but I think Pittsburgh would....it's definitely a tough call.

I'm with FCF - no sniffage!!! It's bad enough they might get their smelly little mitts on a new Hunt...

:yeahthat: Plus there are no guarantees the Steelers beat GB, Ben can be so unpredictable. I hope the Steelers play like crap but still manage to chew up the beans and send them home. I don't want the Jets to gain one more inch. That way all they can say is that they beat the Pats, I don't want to see them go on some March To Glory, win or lose. I don't even want then to have another chance, I want them OUT. OUT OUT DAMN GREEN SPOT,OUT:D

Jealousy of what? 2 AFC Championship appearances in a row and 1 SB 0ver 40 years ago. Yeah, I'm just green with envy.

No, we're jealous our coach isn't a loud mouthed degenerate who craves acceptance due to daddy being a complete jerkoff.

Just WAIT until they implode. Rex is going to go from "media darling/straight shooter who tells it like it is" to "egotistical buffoon douchebag" so quickly his head will spin. The New York media turned on Tom Coughlin and were calling for his head because of one miracle 7 minutes of football where the Eagles scored 21 points. They will sharpen their knives for Rex soon enough.

I'm thinking big picture in the event I have the patience to keep doing this for 10 more years. The Brady vs. Roethlisberger threads would be unbearable - and again, the argument wouldn't be able to be thrown out, because unless Brady grabs one more ring they would forever be linked with that similarity.

So that's my reasoning

Who would have thought the Jets to have had so much **** in them? :D

LOL I was going to say something along those lines...chew up the green beans and........ but :halo:

I know I know. I think GB would beat them though, maybe beat them soundly. Ben only gets there when he doesn't have to go through Brady so I'll never annoint him anyway. I dunno, I just can't bear the thought of Footsie and his beans sliming all over Dallas:mad: Then again maybe Sanchize would get caught in some sleazy pre-SB sex scandal that would be publicized ALL over the net and TV. Better yet, maybe Rex himself would:p Awesome.

Giving LT a shot at the SB? really? ugh I just can't do it.

I love all off of you wish harm to us. You say we are classless? Look in the mirror.

We beat you, we celebrated, you would have done the same. But not once did we wish harm on a human being.

The Green Beans epitomize the latest brand of nasty "in-your-face" unsportsmanlike behavior sweeping modern sports. Their fans buy into it as well. It probably would take a sports sociologist to explain this stuff, but the intentional blurring of lines between "personal" and the game itself by people like fat Wrecks just makes things worse. It takes some joy from the experience even when you win, because there's always someone sitting nearby or on the Internet who wants to rain on your parade instead of extend congratulations. It's easy to get caught up in from both sides.

But when a team like New Jersey lips off and rubs it in (re., Bart Scott's moronic rant), it really makes them look and sound like low-lifes. I'd hate for any Patriot players to act like that. Being a Green Beans fan with any level of personal dignity certainly requires some blind eyes/deaf ears to that sort of crap, or the ability to rationalize on a cosmic level.

I will say that there are a few teams whose organizations and fans I respect. Pittsburgh, N.Y. Giants, Green Bay and Seattle are a few. I really hope the Steelers rub out New Jersey next week.

Another shining illustration of my point above.

You can't expect fans of an organization that hasn't won anything since the days of Nixon to actually know how to win with class. That's the reason why everybody outside of New York hates the Jets.

I hear ya, but when I think about whose fans I would rather have a debate with it would definitely be the Steeler fans. As Pats fans we already know that Rothliesberger isn't even in Brady's league and you could always fire back with how the Pats own the Steelers in their playoff history and any Superbowl they won with Ben was without having to go through NE. The biggest upside is even though they are obnoxious, the Steelers have won 6 SB's in their history and can at least handle it. The mere thought of the Jets hoisting a Lombardi trophy makes my skin crawl. Even worse is seeing some uni-browed, illiterate, fat, grease-ball decked out in all his Jets SB Champion gear from NY coming to my state to vacation in the summer.:eek:

Be careful how you use the pronoun "we", because when Brady was involved in his auto accident in September, Jets message boards had posts celebrating not only his possible injury, but his death. Look it up.

Don't even bother. 98.9% of them can't even comprehend tomorrow let alone a few months ago.

Really? That's stretching it I think. I would be a more accurate statement to say outside of NE, most people hate the Pats.

Sorry if this has already been said, but I really don't get the rabid obsession with the Jets on this board (and they are not worthy of it my opinion). I do understand a lot of the history with BB and Parcells, Curtis Martin, Mangini, Branch, etc.

I only briefly lived in RI and sure, some of it is geography, New York/Boston cultural differences, Yankees/Sox hatred, etc,. but IMO some posters really go over the top when it comes to the Jets Apparently many of them spend A LOT of time trolling the Jets boards.

And mainly because Sanchez looked like absolute dog crap and the Pats played a horrible game, the only people I tip my cap to is the Jets coaching staff--no question the Pats got out-schemed in this one.

Glad to see you are confident that the Jets will lose to the Steelers just like you were confident your team would demolish them yesterday. Seems to me that the Jets went into PItt a few weeks ago and beat them....stakes were high, don't fool yourself. The Jets are playing football while your team plays golf.

When the Jets are playing Golf in a couple of weeks, without any superbowl rings to show for it and their window of opportunity all but closed you will go back into hibernation and show up 5 years later when they look decent again.

Huge win for the Jets. Will they have a let down after such a big emotional victory or play just as hard another week?

They have perfect timing this season. Getting a injury ravaged Colts team, then the Pats in a rebuilding year with their Dline banged up. Next a Steelers team without a solid Oline and coming off a brutal game against Baltimore.

Can anyone look up the Steeler's record after Raven games? I bet it's not good.

As much as I hate to say it things are breaking perfectly for the Jests. If the Packers lose then this defense will destroy Cutler in the SB.

Not good at all.

Ian - you *******, sackless, pus$$y, punk ass b!tch. The Pats lost, the fans need to take their medicine. Ban me too, and then go fu(k your mother.
