They overused him, doesn't necessarily mean he's bad or back to jagland, it means that they simply need to go back to using him where he's skilled and not use him as a between the tackle runner.

My regret will be not remember the names of these losers who post now and post a year later trumpeting a Patriots win or a Woodhead game winning TD.

Where did this thread come from?? Who are the people that think he is too "small and weak" to be effective???

Agree with you.....this is one of the dumbest posts that I have seen on here.....guess this is what to expect as we get into offseason discussion....but come on!

Woodhead, is much better when he is the forgoten man when the WR's and TE's makeing play but when they try to make him the main guy he can be stoped and thats not a knock on him you can say that about every 3rd down back in the NFL thats why they dont play full time

Good points. :)

I think you should get yourself banned.

Yes, I think he would be more effective with his snap count carefully monitored.

This is a stupid poll and the OP of it has a track record for it.

Another one ove the deep-end.

Hes 195 lbs w/ 4.33 speed. This was also his first full year in the league and
first year in this offense.

Hes a tough kid, works hard and had a great attitude.

He is a 3rd down/change of pace back and the team is lucky to have him.

Bottom line is you can't hang your success on a man his size to play full time in the NFL...don't forget he was already IR'ed once

131 touches on offense is not full-time.

I am referring to the posters that think he will have a lot more touches next year (obviously taking into account that he wasn't utilized the beginning of the season)

Ok. Yea I think they will keep him where he is at- usage-wise. As he gets better in the passing game, they will use him more there perhaps. He did play 38.9% of all the offensive snaps so it's not like he played all the time.

The thing folks need to keep in mind is that for smaller players, BB is very cognizant of touches & fumbles. If you recall, once they cut back on Kevin Faulks touches in 2004, he fumbled less and was more productive. Although I think his touch to fumble ratio stayed the same, but they gave the rock to shurer ball-carriers (like Dillon)

With Woodhead, he did fumble twice in his last two games. it's not really a trend yet but something to keep an eye on.

Overall, the kid was amazing. Just gotta keep an eye on the workload.

14 carries, 9 targets in the passing game (6 receptions) and I'm guessing being on the field for the majority of the offensive snaps is full time. Yeah, during the regular season he was a change of pace type guy on the field in only certain situations and he excelled. Yesterday they decided to make him a full time starter and he was ineffective.

I also did not think he was used properly.

I had no problem with him in the passing game.

3.3 ypc for a 3rd down change of pace back who got 14 carries in a playoff game when during the regular season he averaged 6 carries a game makes no sense.

I understand that they were trying to change things up but they were banging their head against the wall IMO.

If there was an option for "he'll be back as more or less the same player in more or less the same role", I think most people would take that.

I hope that he's never used as much as he was used yesterday, though. The Pats overworked him and it showed.

Glad to see this horrid thread in its rightful place, finally.
