Publicly, if asked about this BB will say that we are focusing our efforts on preparing to play the Jets.

Privately, I'm willing to bet that he thought WW was pretty damn funny.

He should have added,

"On some plays, the Jets like to bring extra guys in to plug all the gaps.

"Our defense has to gang up when we tickle them, I mean tackle, sorry"

It's always obvious on the internet when someone wants to say something but doesn't have anything to really say, they point out grammar and spelling mistakes instead. What amazes me about that is, without fail, those posts always make their own grammar or spelling mistakes. It's like misspelling something on your resume. How about learning the difference between "that's" and "thats"; hint: one of them isn't a word.

Yes, that is indeed subtle as there is no way you can effectively prove that he was intentionally taking a jab at Rex Ryan, so that's pretty much the definition of subtle. You can speculate on his intentions, but it's not clearly deliberate, and, therefore, subtle. But I guess you find calling the opposing QB an "a*shole" a much more fun and effective way of spicing up the rivalry. Douchebag.

And you made a little mistake there yourself, grammar nazi. It's "that's", not "thats", as it is a contraction of "that is" and, thus, requires the use of an apostrophe.

Remember before TGTSNBM the press conference where Donte Stallworth said that if Tom couldn't go, he'd play QB?

Then, Welker came in and said, completely deadpan, "Coach told me *I* was going to play QB." The funniest part is seeing the audience treat him as if he were completely serious. . . .

That was the total beauty of it. It was becoming so obvious throughout the interview to be able to remain so serious was impressive. I about pissed myself by the time he got to the "foot soldiers" remark. Musta been hard to concentrate. My guess is that there were locker room bets as to how many references he could get in in the interview.

Wow... this could actually be a big story if it starts hitting tabloids. IMO this may be an absolutely brilliant, calculated move.

Why? The Patriots are going for a low blow here, but it's going to embarrass Ryan. This is the type of warfare that he uses to get into someone's head, but in this case, he's a guy who really shouldn't be saying a word about anyone. He loves to use the public forum for psychological warfare and he's about to learn a huge lesson. If this starts becoming a huge story, Ryan is going to be humiliated by all the attention... this is now a huge, national game, and this could be a huge, national storyline that makes him turn red every time it is brought up.
