The GOAT is 9-10 overall in PO

Looks like the Colts were going for a TD instead of the game winning FG. Blair White catches that 3rd down pass, and pretty much game over. Interesting call by the Colts. They gambled and lost. They left too much time on the clock. The D got absolutely no pressure on Sanchez on the final drive, so the loss was on them. Can't blame Peyton for this one. I hate the Colts and Manning, but it wasn't his fault. He did his job like Brady did against the Giants, drove the team downfield and gave their teams the lead. Colts special teams and defense lost that game in the last minute.

All I said was "by that definition." It's not a defintion I accept.

I thought Brady played a very good SB against the G-men, and didn't choke at all. He almost hit Moss on that ridiculous pass at the end, that would have changed history.

Peyton has come up small in more than a few big games, but today wasn't one of 'em. I was proud of how he played; he took what the D gave him, made some big throws and relied more on his teammates than he usually does. He did enough to win; I blame that kick return more than anything.
Manning had 59 1/2 minutes to put enough points on the board to make that KR meaningless.

I don't hold this loss against Manning. The 2010 Colts were a lot like the 2009 Patriots, a beat up flawed team that got to 10 wins with great QB play.

Brady is still the better QB, though.

Saw an amazing stat during the game. Manning has 48 regular season 4th quarter comebacks, most of any QB since 1998. But only 1 in the playoffs. And that's what separates Brady and Manning, the playoffs, where Brady is way more clutch and has better stats.

yeah...i didnt want to see another div team with a good running game vs our hurting dline and with their D adjusting to the last game :(

we had a healthy d line the last time... im not a fan of this match up... but i guess better than the ravens...

I thought Manning did fine. The Jets do have a good defense after all. At least, he did what he had to do near the end of the game, he put the Colts up ahead. Not his fault the defense couldn't stop the Jets last drive.

Manning might deserve his second fourth quarter comeback today. He did alright.

Peyton's 3rd down pass sucked. The one that would have led to "pretty much game over". How is that not on him?

Has anyone read the thread title?

9-10. The so called Quarterback Jesus is 9-10 in the playoffs.

Make up as many excuses for tonight's game as you want, he was still 9-9 before tonight. At some point you have to come back to him.

Honestly, do you make things up to feed you negativity?
Wright and Pryor were inactive that game.
Deaderick played 0 snaps.
We were equally as healthy then as we are now on the DL.

Well said...

"And the Patriots have held this offensive JUGGERNAUT to 3 points!"

He never does well in the big games.

I think someone on this board pointed this out and it was nice to see the streak remain intact:

Colts win, Manning either wears a baseball cap or goes hat-less.

Colts lose, Manning keeps his helmet on.

you know what andy, we will see next week.. wright wont play, this week, pryor deaderick and hernadez are a big ? at best.. so we will see.. i just dont want to hear more jets stuff from ny radio another week.. it could be trouble.. both teams will have the same time to prepare...

I think the Colts screwed up time management badly in that last drive. They rushed to run the next play when they had loads of time left on the clock. They also passed instead of ran on the 3rd down, saving NY a timeout. They should have planned on their drive using all the clock (esp. w/Manning running the offense).

It's almost like you root for the Pats to lose.

I guess the fans are getting into the 0-0 bit. I remember when the Pats were 0-0 at the beginning of the season and most fans thought the record for 2010 was going to be somewhere between 7-9 and 9-7. Same mindset rears its head again. Have you guys even watched this team this year?

Im glad people are so stoked up for the jets, because this is a bad match up... i wanted the jets to go away, and if the colts d would have showed up in the second half then we play balt or kc, but now we have to play the jets again, a match up i did not want...

Yeah, becaused the Ravens always lay down and die for us in Gillette?

And the Jets under Ryan the past two years in a row, have been a real tough out in Gillette?

Okeedokee, Sean.

Who played for the Pats that game whom we'll be missing this time? Ron Brace - - who had ONE tackle.

I DO know that we now have Pryor back for this one and Eric Moore is now on the team (was picked up just before the Chicago game).

I'd have rather played him at 10-9 and the shell of Colts than let the JETS be the ones to beat him...

Pats have already caused him enough torment in the post season. Pounding the Jets on the way to a rematch with a good AFC North is the fitting path for this season. If the Colts ever finally address their run defense, we'll probably see him in the playoffs next year. The Colts were not the nemesis this year. Brady shredding "top defenses" has been the story, and I'm looking forward to the last few chapters.
