Clayton has Brady on his All-Pro team, and if that dweeb has an MVP vote, its a relatively safe bet it went to him.
So that's 3.
When is All Pro announced, anyway? Because - sadly, since MVP has become a QB award - whoever is the AllPro QB has a damn good chance of being MVP, and we'd probably know then anyway.
This is a dumb move by Goodell. I guarantee some people will get confused and won't be able to tell which MVP award is which.
Exactly. Why would they want such a significant announcement to get buried in the bottom of everyone's Super Bowl notes column?
Its a QB league, who else would win the award?
Fair enough - I'm fine with giving it to a QB, if they earned it.
Clearly, Brady has.
But did Manning last year? Hells no. It was just a defacto status quo pick. I suppose that has more to do with his status as face of the league than his position, necessarily.
I personally would have given it to Brees last year but honestly were Turner and CJ decisively more valuable to their respective teams?
Fair point - there is no way CJ had the value to their team that Brees did. And I also would've given it to Brees, also.
So, I guess, ultimately, I have no problem with QBs winning it year after year - as long as they are the most deserving candidate, and of late, that does appear to be the case.
I don't get it. I thought the MVP award is about the regular season. All the votes are in. So why wait another 4 weeks to announce it?
Why try to make the season 18 games when only the owners think it is a good idea? It is the NFL, that's why. :bricks:
Seems like a needless distraction going into a big game. I guess they didn't figure giving the winner of the Steelers divisional game an extra day of rest was a big enough banana peel.
