I see the Jets - Colts game as win-win. Either way a team I hate will lose.

I couldn't care less about Eagles - Packers.

Chiefs Ravens - I am rooting for the Chiefs. I have a soft spot in my heart for Matt Cassel and Scott Poili. I can't say the same for Ray Lewis.

But the clearest choice is Saints vs. Seahawks.

From a team perspective, we have the Saints 6th round pick so an early exit from the playoffs makes that draft pick more valueable. But that is not my reason for rooting for the Seahawks.

If the Seahawks win, ESPN and the other talking heads will literally explode. After a week of talking about the Seahawks not deserving to be in the playoffs, this win will be even bigger than the Chargers (8-8) taking down the Colts (12-4) in 2008. Or the Cardinals which EVERYONE said was going to be one and done making it to the final game.

Nothing would be sweeter this year than the NEP defeating the former NEP head coach in the Superbowl.

Seattle shouldn't be in the playoffs. Screw them, they need to be shown to be the joke that they are. They make a mockery of the season.

Ummmm.... nothing about that New Orleans is probably the biggest threat in the NFL to beat the Patriots.

We are indebted to the Saints for what they did to Peyton and the Colts last year. They are a likable group starting with their head coach and their QB, so I wouldn't root against them until it matters.

I agree, I will root for the Chiefs b/c of Cassel.

Nah, what if the Seahawks won the SUPER BOWL! Imagine Charlie "Jesus" Whitehurst screaming "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE" at midfield.

I know the "any given Sunday" mantra but the Seahawks have no chance winning this game. They are a dreadful team and the only reason they made it in is because St. Louis is even worse and played even worse, if that's possible??? I tried watching some of that game last night and it was just awful football. I mean really bad football. Seattle will lose this game 38-3.

Ummm no. The Celtics had the big 3 in their prime when they won. The Seahawks don't even have a big 1. Did you see how terrible the Rams were? Their receivers were dropping wide open passes repeatedly with the game on the line. Bradford forced an INT into the teeth of the defense to seal the game. The Seahawks are a 1 and done playoff team. I don't hate them for making it in, but I don't see them being good enough to advance in the big tourney.

Watching that game last night made me appreciate the Pats all that much more.

Basketball is a best of seven marathon while all it takes is a warm weather dome team to head to the open air on the water in a blustery Seattle night. A few bad breaks and the game can get away from them. Seattle is a tough place to win even when the Seahawks are awful. They are a step above awful right now.

Vegas has the line at 10 to 10.5 right now. That means about 2 TDs on a neutral field. I would be flat-out amazed if this were a game by the second quarter. The Hawks are just a speed bump for the Saints en route to the second round.

You're really picking the Seahawks to beat the Saints? I just don't see it. Homefield can only do so much to help overcome a lack of talent.

Stranger things have happened but if the Seahawks win I'll be more surprised than if I wake up tomorrow morning with my head sewn to the carpet.

I love gillette but I'd kill for the pats to build a stadium like qwest field. All the noise of a dome but still outdoors. Best stadium in the league bar none.

I wish I understood the rules, my thread about the Jets/Colts game gets moved in 30 seconds to the Practice Squad section? And a thread about an NFC team that no one cares about survives?:bricks:

There is a colts-jets thread on the main board. Did you start a second thread on the same game?

This is the only thread on the Seahawks game. And this game does affect our draft pick.

Lost amongst the Brady talk this year was that Matt Cassel had 5 INT's going into the game yesterday ... not too shabby for the college bench warmer. To bad he had 2 yesterday because that 5 was pretty darned good.

Seven is pretty darn impressive.

A little perspective here....

The Seahawks won exactly half the number of games as your New England Patriots this season. They do not belong in the playoffs but got in only due to the rare instance of a division full of below sub-par teams.

To go one step further, Pete Carroll should not be an NFL coach. I know he will have his supporters on this board....yes, he's a helluva nice guy, did great at the college level etc etc. But he has no history of success as a HC at the NFL level and I don't expect that is going to change in the 2-3 years he coaches this Seattle team before he's shown the door.

I don't miss the we were "so jacked and pumped" excuse making press conferences in NE after those losses where he and Bobby Grier were dismantling the SB contender that Parcells built in the mid 90's.

That's probably from the brutal beating he took against that Raiders DL. The poor guy was hurried all day. I felt bad for him, and I'm thinking to myself, someone please take Cassel out of the game before he gets hurt. uggg
