im pretty sure that was the first time ive seen this team run a classic slant route this season, LMAO

is that all Price can do? he seems to be the only WR to be assigned that route for some reason

He a ran a hook route and I might have to watch again but I'm pretty sure I saw a few post routes.

I had to put up with a lousy Clevland- Pitts. game. How on earth did that team beat us !

Easy. The New England game was their Super Bowl. The rest of their season, a side show.

That's what you get when you hire Mangina to be your head coach. I hope the fans are pleased.

I'm uncertain whether or not New England will target at least one wide receiver in the 2011 draft, but I've to believe that Taylor Price is capable of leapfrogging Tate next season or eventually. I don't know, Tate seemingly can frustrate you with his drops or inconsistency. Sometimes, I think Brady looks away from him due to a lack of trust.

I like his [Price] positive attitude.

When we spoke, Taylor told me just the act of mimicking game-day preparation has helped.

"I think definitely traveling with them," Price said, "being in the meeting rooms before games, being in the locker room, going out and getting warmups, just trying to be as close as I can to be with the team throughout these game days is the best for me now. Sooner or later, I'm going to be in there, so it's going to be my job to step up and be ready to go. I watch these games, I feel like I'm part of the team. I'm rooting for them, cheering for them, I feel happy. We're all tight. Just got to keep these things going."

Price missed 12 OTAs days because of the NCAA’s graduation rule, and he’s been behind ever since. Plus, with the roles of Wes Welker, Deion Branch, Brandon Tate, and Julian Edelman entrenched, there isn’t much of a chance for playing time.

He's just trying to focus on the present with an eye toward the future.

"Obviously, I’m going to be excited for next year, just because (I could) get on the field," Price said. "Hopefully. But like I said, keep looking at every week, one week at a time, and keep working. I evaluate my practice film every day, look back at it, see what I did, see what I could work on, see my routes, see the little things. I got to get better myself, even though I’m not getting number one reps. I still gotta work on my overall game, so that’s what I've been trying to work on."

BostonHerald.com - Blogs: Rap Sheet Blog Archive While most Patriots play today, rookie WR Taylor Price has his game days during the week

''We always say here... our job as receivers is to get open and catch the ball. However we do that, we need to catch the ball,'' O'Shea said. ''Regardless of what the reason is we dropped it, we need to go out there and correct the mistakes. Julian will work hard to do so, just as all our receivers will work hard to catch the ball and get open every week.

As for Price, who hasn't played a down, O'Shea spoke in complimentary terms of the rookie.

''Behind the scenes, Taylor is working extremely hard right now,'' O'Shea said. ''he's doing what we ask him to do, which is go to practice, and try to get better every day. That's what he's done. He's had some great receivers in front of him that he can learn from, and if he does so, he'll continue to progress. All we ask of him is to continue to work hard, and I thin he has worked hard.''

What's up with Julian Edelman and Taylor Price? Patriots WR coach Chad O'Shea provides some answers - BostonHerald.com

Mentioned this in t'other thread but if he has a good preseason and has the chemistry with Tom I think he may pass Tate next year

The perfect scenario for the franchise would be both Tate and Price bypassing Deion. Possibly Edelman as well.

And that is not a shot vs Deion, but lets be honest. He'll be 32 at the start of TC and has a history of knee problems. If he passes him, great. If he doesn't and Deion has a 60/800yd year- so be it. If in year 3, Price is the starter, ok.

Maybe he'd be a good coach if he had 2 weeks to prepare every time and no opponents did?

Price ran several different routes today.. He ran an out route that he was wide open on in the Red Zone and Brady's throw was incomplete to Gronkowski on the left side.

He had a hook route where he went up and caught that ball.. He had that slant route.. And he had some others..

Given that during the preseason I was wondering why on earth the Pats used a 3rd pick on him, Price looked great today. For some reason I think he needs to put on some more muscle though. At any rate, he earned himself a long look next preseason.

Price played well today. I liked what I saw. It is definitely always better to have good depth at the end of your roster. Price also happens to be the Pats 'biggest' WR at 6'0. ^_^

He looks frighteningly quick.

Every reception he had today looked like he was about to break it into a long gain.

Wouldn't mind seeing him and Edelman returning kick offs since Tate decided to start running into the nearest opponent these past few months.

he remind me of austin collie , anyone else see this?

Kid looks like a keeper. Don't see drafting a WR high next season with

1. Welker
2. Branch
3. Tate
4. Edelman
5. Price

All signed for next season.

Kid looks awesome. Was open a lot today. Plays fast for a big guy and looked promising getting off the jam. Has home run threat speed and can be a big possession receiver on the outside.

If I had to hazard a guess I'd say he passes Tate on the depth chart next year. Hopefully the competition between the two brings out the best in them.

Its been a while since we saw him but boy did he take his opprotunity and shine. Good 4 him! I'm looking forward to watching him.. Seems like a level headed kid

I think he has Robert Meachem potential next season. I think he'll be able to exploit one on one coverage against a lot of corners that aren't prepared.

He looks strong and seems to have good hands. We really don't have that WR who can muscle his way on slants and he looked like he might have it. I realize Miami laid an egg but I saw some real positive stuff from him.

The back end of the WR depth chart gave me a lot of confidence for next season.

Kid really looks like he can play. Love the size and showed a good set of hands.

If needed; I just don't know who you sit if everyone's healthy. The depth is amazing.

It is amazing.. and a real credit to Caserio & BB....
