Re: Should be sealed: Tom Brady as MVP

This is exactly why I slammed that Philly beat writer for casting her ballot last week. Irresponsible idiot.

This was never close in the eyes of reasonable people.

Do you think she would have changed her mind in lights of tonight's game? There has been a reality distortion field that Steve Jobs would be proud of going on for the last few weeks. Brady has done nothing to diminish his standing as MVP since he became one of the leading candidates. They're still scoring 30+ points, he is still throwing touchdown passes, and he still isn't throwing interceptions.

I have no delusion that the playoffs are going to some whimsical, mistake free joy ride but for the love of god saying anyone other than him was MVP for this regular season was a bad joke all along.

Re: Should be sealed: Tom Brady as MVP

Hope King didn't send his ballot in this AM...

This game was sweet on so many levels... Seems the inept Giants laid out the blueprint for defeating the Vick led Eagles last week. And Minnesota finally has a HC who could read it. And they may have found themselves a functional QB who doesn't have to be coaxed in off the farm...

???

King has Brady atop the MVP watch.

wow.. talk about being a homer! Not only did this idiot send in a vote early.. but vick already missed 4 games.. so thats like sending your ballot in without results of 6 games. If you were going to vote for Vick you should have at least waited until week 17.

Congrats to Tom for the MVP he deserves it... and I am sure a lot of us in the back of our minds after the (sub par, stats aside) 09 season were wondering if Brady would ever be at the top of his game again after his catastrophic knee injury... He answered that question and then some. Amazing season so far. The best part come.

i just hope the league mvp not winning the sb jinx doesnt happen ..thats all :(

How many of those MVP's were put out of their misery by the Pats? Manning, McNair, M. Faulk, LdT.

Shaun Alexander was robbed in his SB by the Refs. Brees deserved it last year and Manning stole it.

Not too worried.

Of course, I'm leaving out the game that shall never be spoken about.

Edit: Oops, my bad, it was Kurt Warner, not Faulk in 2001.

I don't want brady to win the mvp..

I love it when brady feels like he has a chip on shoulder and him somehow losing the mvp will make feel that.

Brady has plenty of incentive to go for it all. If the Pats can get the job done this year, and with the draft picks they've got lined up, Brady will be looking at the strong possibility of getting more rings than any QB. That and the fact that perhaps for the first time since 2001, you couldn't have predicted this level of consistent success at the start of the season. Finishing out this season the right way will be as much of a feather in his cap as anything he has done before.

And like I said on the early ballot - it wouldn't have mattered. There are STILL going to be idiots claiming Vick should be MVP even after tonight. Leave the arguing in the Twilight Zone, life is good right now in Realityville. :rocker:

This. Brady is the kind of guy who gets distracted with these kinds of things. Unlike Manning who doesn't give a **** about the MVP, you can see Brady is always trying to improve his stats even when the game is won, if he wins MVP I'm afraid he'll stop trying.

Re: Should be sealed: Tom Brady as MVP

Just curious why. I despise the soulless creep.

If you've been reading any insanity that has been going on in ESPN or PFT comment sections you should realize this is an argument you don't want to get into. Leave the discussion to football. Of course if that had been the driving factor to begin with we wouldn't need this thread!

/sarcasm

That's not what i meant.

Re: Should be sealed: Tom Brady as MVP

Joe Webb might come from behind on this one

Played pretty damn good for the 199th pick overall in his first career start on the road.

But seriously this isn't debatable after this. Vick played like trash and is lucky he didn't throw multiple interceptions. He tried to do too much, made inaccurate throws, and had some costly turnovers.

Another 199th pick?

The charade is over. Going to enjoy the next two and half weeks of detaching my eyes from PFT and elsewhere. Will be quite amped for the divisional round. :rocker:

Keep your chin up Vick, you put up a good fight.

That is either a really good pun or a really bad one, can't figure which.

Personally, obviously what he did was terrible, but guys have done much worse and been given much less hate. People are acting like he killed human beings . . . I guess I want him to redeem himself, and he's obviously put a ****load of work in this year.

Of course, doesn't come close to Brady.

Re: Should be sealed: Tom Brady as MVP

Kinda crazy:

2007 -MVP
2008 -Out
2009 -Comeback Player of the Year
2010 -MVP(almost certainty)

For a guy that doesn't care for individual awards all that much, he's certainly racking them up.

I guess I'm just not that good at separating person from player. Aside from this obvious aspect of the Vick debate, I've found that his popularity remains high with the video game generation because he's flashy and showy and (lately) a good fantasy football pick. NOT MVP material, especially having missed roughly a quarter of the season and certainly not after tonight's debacle.

..199th you say? Vikings might just be on to something.

Very cool stuff too:

On Wednesday 29th December 2010, @wingoz said:

RT @SI_PeterKing: Cart Before Horse Dept.: Brady MVP win would make him second player in history (1st: Montana) to be 2-time MVP and 2-time SB MVP.
