Had 5 of 6: Picked Welker over Meriweather; at last minute took Mankins over Light (thinking he had only played a portion of yr./however he has dominated in reduced year).

I think you're confused. It's the PATRIOT players who don't like going up the middle with reckless Brandy on the hunt. Next time Meriweather makes a MEANINGFUL play let us know. It's be the first in a long long time.....

Just recently, he picked off the game-sealing INT, only to have it reversed on a penalty.

There, that wasn't very hard.

Brady, The Incredible Fork and Mayo are very deserving.

If Mank had played the full schedule- yes, but not 8 games. A reputation vote.

Bing Bang Clock? He was serviceable....not a Pro-Bowl year. Got in on reputation I think.

McCourty......Well deserved. Tells you how highly thought of he is in this league already. God his next contract is going to be interesting.

How many big plays did Rodney give the pats? Excluding the 1 superbowl, name me 1 big rodney had other than being posterized by that guy i can't even remember?

Merriweather is the pats james harrison.

Meriwther isn't even the best Safety on the Patriots never mind the whole AFC.

They never put RTs on but Volmer desrved it over Mankins.

Merri breaks up up more passes than any pat...by hit or by the rciever hessitating to catch near him.

You underestimate merri................He's not a pick guy, but he will make receivers think twice about catching near him.

Agreed: Merriwther and Mankins? Joke. Anyone who holds out on their own for the length of time he did just should never make the Pro Bowl, there should be some sort of "unwritten rule" about that. Ahh well. Just more leverage for him at the negotiating table after the season...

i guess others have said this but this speaks vollumes to the pro bowl.

Merriweather is picked... we here have been discusssing his poor play. The guy in my opinion has all the talent to be good but he has been a little off this year... still makes pro bowl because he is a recognisable name.

I knew McCourty would make it as soon as announcers started talking about him on national TV... i feel bad for the cb for th bengals Hall he's had a good year.

Vince, Mayo and TB all deserve everything they get but i would have liked to swap mankins for vollmer if i cold i think Vollmer has had a great year and mankins has only played a few games

Lets see. 07 a few snaps here and there in 3 playoff games. 08 none. 09 one and he took a bad angle and let Ray Rice run all the way to Wrentham.

I am not underestimating Meriweather. I am saying he is not better than Rodney Harrison and I am saying he is not better than arguably the best defensive players in the NFL the last 4 years.

Are you sure you are talking about the right Brandon Meriweather?

Meriweather is in as a free safety. Other than Reed, who's clearly been better than he has at that position in the AFC?

Don't care about Pro Bowl, so whatever. Congrats to all. Meriweather is a hitter. And Mankins has delivered a running game. It's not like they're asking people out of the phone book... the judges must like what they see. Just appreciate the recognition for this remarkable team.

This is by far one of the dumbest posts I have EVER seen on this board. Either you're a fan of another team just checking out this message board or you haven't been a Pats fan for very long. Either way, you're an idiot. I usually try to refrain from calling names, as I try to respect everyone, but this post just baffled me and even angered me a bit. Do you even realize that there was legitimate HOF discussion about him when he retired in large part because of his time with NE?

I might add that Chung deserved to go over Merri but then again, Chung is a strong safety where the competition's a bit heavy.
Also thought Vollmer over Mankins. Not that Mankins doesn't deserve to go. Although he's only played 8 games, look how well he's played. No coincidence that the Pats offense started picking up when he returned.
