Are you now saying the head coach has no effect on the football team? The team will be executing HIS game-plan and their play will be a product of the preparation HE gives them.

If he's unable to successfully prepare and game-plan this week due to this mess, it will show on the field.

Nothing I like better than a Post front page, but this wasn't their cleverest work.

Oh geez. I have off work today so I slept in a little, got out of bed, came downstairs, turned on the telly, and the first thing I see is a clip of the video on Good Morning America.

I had regarded this whole thing as a bit of an embarrassment to the Jesters, but you know it's a big deal when a mainstream show like that is covering it. When the segment was over, I flipped to Today and they were talking about their own segment coming up later in the program. I can't believe all the attention this is getting.

Course as we all know, Rex hasn't denied anything about it, and that's never a good sign. And now that I've seen some of the video, I do have to admit that the man's voice sure does sound like him. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Im waiting for Rex & the Jets to blame all of this on the Patriots, lol!

I think it will have an impact, but in the opposite direction--I think the Jets are going to circle the wagons and could come out and put a absolute stomping on da Bears [pun intended] and could be a dangerous team in the playoffs if Sanchize (or whoever) is able to throw the ball at all. Seriously.

Distractions can and do hurt teams. I doubt Rex has been able to focus solely on game planning and preparation this week.

I offer you my sincere apology that this thread, with it's 362 posts in 36 hours (merged down from 13 separate threads), the subject of which now has coverage on CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, ESPN and Sports Illustrated and that, YES, is affecting the time management of the braintrust of the Patriots' closest intra-divisional rival is still appearing on the forum as one of over 30 threads on the first page.

Imagine the players hearing about this...there is a subtle sense that "this is ludicrous, we're fighting for our lives and the wheels are coming off".

A lack of confidence in coaching (how do you respect a guy who wants to see his wife violated?) results in poor play from players. Simple as that.

This is reckless behavior by Rex and his wife. Eventually this will turn into a firestorm when the swapper aspects become public on the MSM.

I feel sorry for the kids, depending on their age this could be very damaging to them.

If all of this becomes public his career will be destroyed.

You what I'm most concerned about? Not that this will cause the Jets to implode, not that this will make them circle the wagons but that this is the beginning of Rex's downfall, and that he's not long for the job.

That's how big I think this is.

And I think Rex is bad for the Jets, so I'm concerned. I want him to stay there.

So what's the over/under on Rex Ryan's last day as HC of the NYJ? I put it at the end of the season. While it's a "personal matter" that he likes to pimp out his wife, it's a huge distraction and an embarrassment to the team and I'm sure the players. I think as soon as the Jets get eliminated, he gets the ax. I just hope that Jets make it back to Foxboro for one more game. The signs and the chants will be absolutely priceless. F-E-E-T Feet! Feet! Feet!

But I'm confident his career will be fine. (pending a fair showing in the playoffs.)

Didn't the coach (linebacker, ST or something) on the vikings get caught 2 times in two weeks doing something like driving in the buff. (going back 3-4 years)
