I read earlier that it was said he wouldn't appeal? If his statement was true why would he not appeal it. If it was a medecine he could get the suspension dropped. I guess the worry is that if it took them a week to appeal and he got a four game suspension he'd miss a playoff game.

How they can possible consider this to be performance enhancing is a total mystery. I take this and I feel like I've been hit by a truck. Twice.

Not sure if Willie said it but pretty sure Spikes said it in training camp.

No, you're right. It was Spikes. Good quote. Anyway -- we now return to our thread.

Zero tolerance...plus the Jetdell factor

Expect to see a pretty significant dropoff in tackles for Mayo as he'll now be relegated to playing out of position at the Mike, with Guyton stepping into Mayo's natural Will. This is a pretty significant blow to the run defense and Chung is going to be spending more time close to the LOS methinks.

Too bed they let Tampa grab McKenzie...

He should have used the

Unless my memory is failing me, McKenzie is just a practice squad player for the Bucs.

He is, but we just signed Jackson anyway

And thus, I am gratefully corrected. There's gotta be a slow brickeater laying on the scrapheap somewhere, right? They truthfully just need a guy who can play like 15 snaps a game to stopgap the Mike in the 34. Sucks Spikes was an idiot, but a four week rest for a rookie could ultimately prove to be a valuable thing.

What is the NFL rule about this? I know if you sign a player from another team's PS you must immediately add him to your 53-man roster, but what is the grace period for how long they must be on the roster before you can cut him and try to sign him to your own PS?

Screw that -- bring back Seau! Now is the time! :rocker:

Let's look at this way: if the Pats get the #1 seed, this will be a Good Thing. Rookie wall & all.

So, if we get the number one seed, it will be nearly two months before he plays a game again.

There's no reason he can give for this that gets him off of the "You dumb-*****!" list.

If it is a traditional PED, or an illegal substance, wouldn't he be saying the same thing he's saying now?

This reminds me of the Ali G interview with the guy from the Olympic committee: Why do you suspend athletes who are on drugs? Shouldn't you give them a head start? :D

Maybe he was getting ready to do another movie and needed some viagra....that is a performance enhancement drug......

There is no good excuse for a professional athlete accidentally taking something thats going to cause a suspension.

I hope its a case that he is that dumb and not a case where he actually knew what he was doing.

Are you a professional Athlete?? Because you are sure making it sound like your an authority on it! Hmm.. Didn't think so.

Every player has a lapse in judgement now and then.. And don't care if you're TFB, MFC or Spikes.. It happens..

And let me tell you something else.. If it's 3 am and you're at the 24 hour Walgreens trying to figure out what medicine to take since you have the flu, you aren't gonna be thinking straight. Pro Athlete or not.

People get on their stupid high horses but they don't think about REALITY. They forget that these guys are HUMAN.. They make mistakes..

Wow, now this poor innocent guy was desperately searching for relief at 3am because his severe sinus pain was so intense that he couldn't think straight? What a joke. Keep drumming up these ridiculous scenarios to justify the idiocy of an NFL player taking medication without checking to make sure it doesn't contain a banned substance. That was great, tell us now how Rodney only used HGH because he had a pituitary disorder.

I don't care if he was using steroids or not since roughly %99.78 of NFL players take some sort of PED, but this line of excuse making is richer than a triple chocolate fudge cake.
