So the basic thesis of your argument is that the Bears are going to win because Chicago is a cool city where two degenerate gamblers hung out? My mind has been blown.

Al Capone was not a gambler. He just owned the casino. The movie Casino is about da Chicago mob. Read about it, view it, that's what you are running into this Sunday.

Graves in Northwest Indiana are being dug right now...

Who needs a basic thesis? This is not Brown or Yale...tsk, tsk, tsk! Patriots are about to reap what they have sewn and that ugly Christmas sweater will be completed this Sunday in Chicago. Get ready for a beat down. Bears by 3 scores, minimum. Patriots have 3 turnovers at the very least but 4 is more likely. Your supposed "weapons" are more like my 3 year old nephew with is cap gun that I just bought him. Brady, that O-line, and that is it. That is your entire offense. It is a good thing that Chicago has Julius Peppers and a wild front 4 that will pressure every snap let alone pressure in the first place. If Chicago brings Brian Urlacher, the comeback player of the year, or Lance Briggs on a blitz then I suggest Tom Brady feigns a hamstring pull. It will be curtains for him and the entire Patriot team.

While Home Advantage is a little bit of an adavantage because of crowd noise, I think that if this is your reason why the Bears will win by 20 points or more is ******ed.

So what you are saying is because of the Home Field the Bears will win by a huge margin but if it were in Foxboro then the Patriots would win by an easy margin as well, correct? WTF?

So what you are REALLY saying is for the most part, the home field means more than the talent and players on both sides, for what I know the teams players on both sides will still be the same teams players all year and the fans don't play the game, the game is played on the field not in the stands.

The only edge you have on sunday is not talent nor is it coaching, its the noise from the stands that can disturb the Pats offense play calling at the LOS and that IS IT.

Troll confirmed.

Where did this guy come from? Still riding high after the Win and this Bears fan comes and starts talking ****? The Bears are actually going to play a real team this week buddy. Be ready.

What is so hard to comprehend regarding the infamous Roman Coliseum effect? Clearly, the crowd is 20,000 souls (in the case of Julius Caesar and the Ancient Romans) or the the top representative for the ancient ball game played throughout the Mayan civilization. Whether it be 20,000 or 70,000, that is a greater number of souls than the simple 53 that the Patriots trot out there in an ambush otherwise known as Soldier Field this Sunday. Energy is energy and the Patriots are about to realize the truth. It's on like "Donkey Kong" as the Great Peyton Manning would say.

Why am I a troll? Why are you trying to confirm me when the only thing that you can confirm is a tape of "Striptease" in your VHS in your Mother's basement? Let's be real, you know a loss is coming. The New England Patriots are due.

You sure got me!
You must be right then, that settles it. The Bears will win based on home-field advantage, weather that only occurs in Chicago, and obviously superior talent on the field.

And I thought the Jets' trolls were terrible...

Ah, so we're just talking smack. Okay.

Who needs a basic thesis? This is not Brown nor Yale...tsk, tsk, tsk! Patriots are about to reap what they have sewn and that ugly Christmas sweater will be completed this Sunday in Chicago. Get ready for a beat down.

So you think that the Pats are going to get beat down just like your father used to beat you down? Was that before or after he hit the bottle of Jack?

Bears by 3 scores, minimum. Patriots have 3 turnovers at the very least but 4 is more likely.

I don't think we've had a turnover in the last 7 games or so. What makes you so confident that your overrated defense can force one from the greatest in the game today? Meanwhile we'll look forward to Cutler looking completely baffled while trying to rifle in rocket passes through triple coverage. Quite the QB that idiot is.

Your supposed "weapons" are more like my 3 year old nephew with his cap gun that I just bought him. Brady, that O-line, and that is it. That is your entire offense.

And the Bears have more? A sporadic deep threat that shows up every so often, like a Jay Cutler diabetes episode. A career return man whose as dumb as a rock. So dumb, in fact, that he could even master the playbook at the U, had no natural position, and was told that it would be better to enter the draft. Should we be afraid of the RB that you guys have barely used this year?

It is a good thing that Chicago has Julius Peppers and a wild front 4 that will pressure every snap let alone pressure in the first place.

We managed to control Peppers against Carolina last year. Furthermore, what the hell does this even mean?

If Chicago brings Brian Urlacher,

Urlacher is so old that if Chicago "brings him" anywhere, he'll have to remember to take his back pills and get in a good breakfast first so he doesn't get nauseous.

the comeback player of the year, or Lance Briggs on a blitz then I suggest Tom Brady feigns a hamstring pull. It will be curtains for him and the entire Patriot team.

Nah, he'll probably just torch the Bears instead.

I am from Chicago, a town with better Universities than Boston.

If you're a representative of that supposed fact, then I highly doubt it.

Get off you high horse and take that. Take it all down. Swallow it.

I'll defer to you, a clear cut expert in that area.

Blah, blah, blah, Okay, anyways...thanks for getting this thread moved above poster. An early release is nothing but what the girls have mentioned about you...

Yeah, well, the Patriots are going to ride in on Siberian Tigers and destroy the Bears because everyone knows Siberian Tigers are awesome. TFB is so great, I heard he took a time machine back to the 1940s just to *****slap Al Capone and then he came back and took Daley's crown and robe and became the sausage king of Chicago...if you know what I mean. He also made an appearance in Casino and kicked Joe Pesci in the balls, banged all the mafia wives and girlfriends, and then he bought the Cubs and moved them to Vietnam so they could be contenders again. Then BB ordered Chicago moved brick by brick to Nigeria so they wouldn't feel like an inferior city anymore.

The Patriots add to Chicago's skyrocketing murder rate by a score of 156,721 to -4391, but the minutemen won't be there to enjoy it since Chicago deemed their citizens too irresponsible to handle the dangers that muskets pose. Blargh!

Hey guys, I'm a lifelong Bear fan who ventured over here just to see what Pats fans had to say about the upcoming game. I figured I'd get a little insight into opposing point of views and what not, maybe just check the temperature a little...and then...that's when I noticed CuriousGeorge here.

I had no intentions on signing up and posting, but I now feel it absolutely necessary thanks to him. See, not only is his drunken boasting creating some REALLY bad karma for my team, he's also making the rest of us Bears fans look like buffoons. I have no problem with homerism, hell, I'm a homer myself, but to come on your board and do it....that's just, no. That should stay where it belongs, on our own boards.

So anywho, now that I've cleared that up, I'd like to say that you have one HELL of a team and it's going to be one HELL of a game. Hopefully, the better team wins and best of luck for the rest of the year.

I'm so hoping that nullifies Superfan's epic drunkenness death karma....I guess we'll see Sunday.

Heh, I don't believe in the karma thing, but at least you've made it a 2:1 ratio in favor of reasonable Bears fans.

Welcome to the board.

For the Bears' sake, I hope their performance this Sunday doesn't suck as much as your cutdowns do. Anymore zingers you'd like to shoot my way?

He's basically a giant tutorial for how NOT to troll a board. Thanks for the nice post.

Well, the Vegas bookies usually value home field advantage as a three point difference. So, if you are listening to your homies you will not expect that to have a significant impact.

Pats lose by three scores?

Great post, and thanks for salvaging us Bear fans!

I'd love to invite any/all over to Dabears.com. I've run it past Ian to mention our site. We've got a good site with good football talk. Some homers, but not as bad as the Bears official site.

Looking forward to any insight you guys wish to share over there. As for my contribution (in the same vein) here, I started a thread called "Salute" in the New member forum that goes over details of our Oline (the crux of our season).

Hey guys, bears fan here. I've taken the time to read through all the posts and it seems things got a little heated and personal lol.

I'm just here to face the facts.

Yes i agree Tom Brady is a master @ Cover 2 defenses and especially with the weather - we should expect to see a lot of the short game passes from both sides. Your offense is VERY hot right now (I mean you guys single handedly brought the 3rd ranked defense in the NFL to the 8th) and have always been nothing less than good w/ that number 12 guy under center. Now I am not comparing Cutler to Tom Brady, but give the guy some credit. My father used to always say, It's not how you start - It's how you finish. The past 5 games hes thrown 90/137 for 1062 yards w/ a completion rating of 66.22%, 10 TDs, Only 3 Ints, and a QB rating of 102.6. Now that may not be crazy numbers compared to Brady with his 110/160 for 1427 yards w/ a completion rating of 69.76%, 16 TDs (1 rush), 0 Ints, and a QB rating of 127.62. Not to mention he has 200 consecutive passes without an interception, but its enough to keep the bears coming with the W's.

Now I think your defense is very underrated and had i think.. 10 games now to really gel together.. but dont think our defense is anything less than great. If theres one thing people can give the bears this season is our defense. Yeah Love Smith may not be a defensive genius (which i argue with many Jets fans - I currently reside in Jersey lol) like Bill Belichick, but c'mon we can atleast say our defense is better or atleast one of the best you will probably face all year. I'm just hoping that Martz doesnt come out thinking because you guys are ranked 31st in the pass and get all pass happy on us.

Overall what I am trying to say is that - It will be a GREAT game to watch if not the most exciting one for me all season. Say what you want about Green Bay getting 18 penalities that game and how Calvin Johnson didn't get the TD, but its all apart of the game of how things are called and ref'd. No body's perfect neither are ref's. Lets go back in history - Pats vs the Raiders, the notorious Tuck Rule that sent the pats to glory? The Houston Oiler's game winning TD pass not called a TD pass that sent the Steelers into winning it all in the 80's? Jerry Rice is ruled down against the Packers in 1999 when clearly he fumbled the ball? Bert Emanuel's first down catch in 2000 which was ruled it hit the ground first? History will have its toll in bad calls but it still does not take away for the level of intensity the players play at.

Hope to see a great game - Go Bears! :D
