"Just do.. your.. job!.. I want to hang 40 on these clowns"

Re: Belichick's huddle with the team

This offense has been unreal. I wonder if it's even more efficient than the 2007 one, but just not getting the number of drives because the defense had been so inconsistent.

But if this defense figures things out and can play consistently, this could be another dynasty. The core of this defense is so young, and still has a lot to learn, but last night was a prime example of how good these guys can be.

It was obvious in 2007 that Brady was forcing the ball to Moss by the fourth or fifth game of the season. Yes it worked great for a while and produced 50 touchdowns and blah blah blah but by the end of the season the offense was one dimensional. An effective one dimension, but still....

What was so awesome about that huddle is it was EVERYONE. Anyone see Gronk beckoning someone over as if to say "Get over here, he's talking!"

It gave me chills. When I think about what a disaster last year was for this team (With the usual expectations and all, for mere mortal teams, 10-6 and a playoff appearance is a fine season) and I look at what is taking place now, I get chills.

"good jams. good jams. good jams."

Re: Belichick's huddle with the team

According to Rappaport:

Brady, on Belichick's message late in game: "We're playing 60 minutes. I don't give a sh*t what the score is," Brady told WEEI.

Re: Belichick's huddle with the team

That was a classic BB moment. He so rarely does this, I'm not really recalling any team huddles but surely there have been some. Anybody recall other ones? To pull this ultimate coach's troop rallying tool during this situation, lol, damn I do love this coach.

Re: Belichick's huddle with the team

What I think was said:

"Does anyone here have any idea what I should get my girlfriend for Christmas?! Something nice, but not too showy. Anyone?"

Belichick's '60 minute' message

During the fourth quarter of the Patriots' 45-3 win over the Jets on Monday night, ESPN cameras captured coach Bill Belichick gathering his players on the sideline and giving a passionate talk.

Quarterback Tom Brady, during his weekly appearance on sports radio 850 WEEI this morning, explained the message. Belichick was reminding players that despite the score, the game wasn't over.

"We're playing for 60 minutes, I don't give a [bleep] what the score is", Belichick told the players, according to Brady.

I love it!

After the game BB said this was the best 60 mins the team played all season. This young team is growing up and it's fun to watch.

Re: Belichick's huddle with the team

The huddle was symbolic of the difference in these 2 teams: real leadership.

A little OT: How about that little chat between Brady and I think it was NYJ Turner? Anyone know what that was about?

Yes it was Turner, Jets OT coming in for the PAT defense. Brady was talking trash to the Jets sideline and Turner crossed his field of fire. A brief exchange.. nothing more.

Re: Belichick's huddle with the team

Anyone know what/who Brady was pointing and laughing at when his presser ended?

Brady said something toward the end of the press conference that arguably could be construed as a bit arrogant. I can't remember what it was. It was kind of innocuous. One of the reporters, I think, made some kind of noise about it getting Brady in trouble, to which he responded "Oh, God help me." Or something like that, and then he seemed to be laughing about it and pointing to the reporter in a "you got me" kind of way. That's what it looked like to me, at least.

Re: Belichick's huddle with the team

I will post the picture if noone does, when i come back home around 3pm.

That would be greatly appreciated! I can't seem to find it from the usual spots I go to for game pictures.

Re: Belichick's huddle with the team

Not sure exactly what was said, but the defense didn't let up and kept the Jets off the scoreboard in the second half. I'm sure it was something along the lines of playing the full 60 minutes and not letting up. Even Brady stayed in the game until the very end.

On D&C, Brady said that he asked them to play the full 60 mins as he didn't give a s*** on what the scoreboard said...

What a coach and what a qb !!... NE has the top 2 in the league, there's no doubt about it - everyone knows and yesterday's game was merely confirmation. The Bears must be poring over last night's film as we speak...

This quote says it all....

"We're playing for 60 minutes, I don't give a [bleep] what the score is", Belichick told the players, according to Brady.

I love it, every damn second of it.

Yup. "It ain't over until it's over".

Re: This quote says it all....

Yes, and the Fat man Rexy Ryan, is already crying about it, he sounds like a little kid, he got what he deserved.

Re: This quote says it all....

Obviously BB wanted to send a bit of a message there. But I think a lot of it also had to do with getting this team to finish strong. We've blown big leads to Indy and Pittsburgh. The Steelers game wasn't in doubt, but you still want your team to finish up and not relax. With so many kids, I think it had more to do with a teaching lesson than humiliating the Jets.

Though I'm okay with humiliating the Jets too if that was the reason.
