Bob Kraft - "This is the biggest regular-season game in our history"

I love Bob. He is first and foremost a fan of the team. And like all fans he tends to get wrapped up in the moment. Speak in absolutes and fails to put things in proper prespective.

This game does not come close to week 17 2007, or week 17 of 2001.

It is up there for sure!

Not too many REGULAR SEASON games have meant so much...

What about all the games that actually clinched playoff spots?

A bit of an overstatement.

And yes, I understand this game will be huge in determining playoff position, but we still have weeks to go and 2 very difficult oponents next.

Its a big game if your looking at our potential seed.I really cant see us winning the division if we lose tonight. It would take a choke job from the jets.

i dont know...that Pats Giants game in week 17 in 2007 was pretty big

It wouldn't really take a choke job.

If the Patriots lose tonight and win their last 4 games they will be 13-3.

If the Jets win tonight but lose @ Bears and @ Steelers (expected to lose both) then the Pats would win the AFC East.

Was it? If you had it to do over again and had the chance to rest our starters and not reveal any game plan, would you? I sure would. Would it have made a difference a month later? Who knows.

I said at the time I thought that game was irrelevant. I still do. When they give out trophies for the number of regular season losses, I'll give a crap. Otherwise, the undefeated thing was, is and to me always will be a creation of ESPN and Mercury Morris.

I sure would, i wish we lost that game....

That's a remarkable statement! I listened to the piece myself just to be sure it wasn't being taken out of context, but, no, that's what the man said. The biggest regular season game in 17 years.

When I think about what's at stake, not just in terms of the Playoff seedings and the Division, but also in terms of whether the Pats put down the ascendancy of the Jets...I really can't disagree with him.

Ugh. I know this game very important but I'm just not getting the vibe that everyone else is getting that this is such a huge game. Don't get me wrong, I am so excited for this game and I know a win will do very good things for us but I'm seeing it differently.

I see this as most other division games vs a team that is right on our tail or vice versa late in the season. You go into every game expecting a win and to play your hardest. I expect the Patriots to go into this game with the same attitude to win and not think too much of anything else. Nobody is eliminated from anything with a loss from this game, and I think that is why it isn't as big as many say it is. It is just a great game vs two great teams on Monday night.

I think one can make the case that this is the biggest game of the entire NFL season. As others have said, there have been more important regular season games in the past. This one is up there, but it is not the most important regular season game we've had. But wow... I cannot wait any longer for this game. This is the most pumped I've been all season.

The winner of tonights game wins the week 12 SB and not much else.

Simply don't agree. Every game after the Ramsreg season game in 01 was important. In 85 they had to string off like there last 7 games just to get the wildcard. Mr Kraft is just caught up in the moment.
