OT: COLTS fans asking for WHINning to be traded ...

Peyton and his father may want that. Unfortunately, Sean Payton, Tom Benson, and the Saints fanbase won't want that. Why would the Saints sign Manning coming off what is going to be his worst season in years when they already have Drew Brees who is better than Manning right now?

Couldn't tell you, just passing on the rumor. Remember they haven't signed Brees. Both Peyton and Drew are in the last year of their contracts.

I'm sure we'd be the overwhelming voices of reason here on Patsfans.com if the Pats had just gone 6-6 with Brady throwing multiple picks.

Manning wil be 35 years old next season. Why on Earth would people consider it stupid to trade him at that point?

That is assuming that the new CBA has a franchise tag. I have heard speculation that could be one of the consessions the league makes to get other stuff they want (18 games, rookie cap, etc)

Also even if they do tag him he could hold out for a min of a promise not to be tagged a second time.

I had not read that, it would definitely make FA more interesting.

Brees is signed through 2011. He has another year on his deal. Tom Benson just said he was going to redo his deal right after the Super Bowl.

I would assume they would franchise him. But there was a rumor on a Colts board that Peyton and father Manning want him to sign with the Saints and finish his career there.

He's not going anywhere. Especially not to the Saints. Manning's going to retire a Colt. Though, I would imagine that Irsay and the team aren't going to be as willing to fork over the richest contract in NFL history (what was expected for Manning) if his play continues to look like this.

Really, I thought he was in his final year. Thanks for the correction.

I don't think it's stupid. I just don't see it happening.

I just don't think it will happen. The problem with the Colts is that they build them around Manning. You let Manning go and the team immediately becomes a 4-5 win team. Even a declining Manning is crucial for the Colts' to at least to be average at least until they change their philosophy of building around him.

sorry i should i have been more clear in my post earlier, i was refering to the cold weather the nfc north teams play in.he would have to visit soldier field and GB

But that is only two games per year and chances are that one of those away games would be in Sept or Oct when it is warmer so we're not talking about multiple cold weather games...
Arizona is attractive in the sense of good climate,a weak division with other pieces in place, decent Defense, one all-pro receiver in Fitzgerald...

Come on Michael Silver, this hack-job will practically write itself, you know you want your name on it...

Miami wouldn't be a good fit for him....warm weather, Marshall, Bess, and a fan base that will call him the greatest player to ever play as soon as he signs (Culpepper...lol). Everything Manning wants :D

agreed... one of the first times i came on here was earlier in the year andin the post people were talking about the pats recent drafts.... calling for bb to hand over drafting duties to someone else.... im not hearing that anymore

Their board looks a lot like Patsfans after Brady has a bad game or two.

That said, I'll enjoy every minute of it :)

I don’t ever recall a stretch like this from Brady. His worst is he throws a few at people feet but this is something very different and worse.

yep its not everyday that we see colts fans behave this way
but then again i think this will be a regular occurence now that teams have started to figure manning out and lets be honest he isnt getting any younger

No kidding. When you have a fan base that's enjoyed a decade of spectacular QB play and wins by the bucket, a lost season is tough to cope with.

That said...11 interceptions in a 3-game stretch is seriously brutal. What IS up with Peyton?
