Addai>Taylor/Woodhead/Morris. I am still assuming addai is coming back and I would still rather have him then the mish mosh in the pat's backfield. Its no question.

So we could do this all day or would you prefer to talk football?

OK...let's talk some football...

but first...a word from our sponsor...

This thread has been entertaining.

Let me try to break down the thread. Can someone tell me how close I'm getting?

Colts fans: "WE GOTZ INJUREES"
Pats fans: "WE TOO"
Colts fans: "YEH BUT WE HAS MORE"

For the record, I don't think the Patriots are going to win because of how many injuries the Colts have. The injuries and personnel issues that the Patriots have are comparable. I think the Patriots are going to win because we can actually run the ball and are more physical. It doesn't hurt that we're playing at home again.

It's funny how their argument went from 'our guys haven't used injuries as an excuse' to 'ok maybe our GM did but he doesn't count because we don't listen to him even though he makes important decisions regarding our franchise on a daily basis'.

Incoherent contradicting statements are a hallmark of Colt fan logic. Another is constantly pointing out how great a personnel guy Polian is and how he is constantly finding these great players in later rounds, but then talk about how Peyton is surrounded by nobodies picked in the late rounds.

:ugh:

Didn't you start all of this?

The real problem is you guys still listen to Polian. Most Colts fans have a Polian filter, so we don't hear a whole lot that he says anymore. It's kind of like those horns at the World Cup. It kind of just fades into the back ground after a while.
150 post and 3700 views. Good for the site. Let's continue.

Okay, someone has to state the obvious here:

You either win the game or you lose the game.

Your pre-scuse doesn't matter, and the Pats' personnel issues don't matter, and it doesn't matter that Peyton has better comedic timing that Tom (he does. Would much rather watch Peyton on SNL.)

What matters is what numbers are on the scoreboard at the end of the game. I don't care who doesn't have his best ______ on the field, who has the flu, what the temperature was, or anything else... Of course, the game itself has been heavily influenced by these matchups - witness the "Don't cover the colts receivers" rule emphasis... and Polian will make sure we're playing by completely different rules to address his teams deficiencies, if they lose. That's a given. We lived with it every year until the tide turned. If it turns back, we'll live with it again. We're used to it.

But the present rules are the present rules, complete with "points of emphasis," heavy fines, the "Brady Rule" that ironically became the rule right after Brady lost a year... etc.

By those rules, one team will put up more points.

I think that'll be our team this year, and again in the post-season, should we meet there.

If we don't, it doesn't matter what the excuse is. All that matters is that we prepare by correcting whatever wasn't good enough in this year's game and fix it for the next. Same goes for the Colts, though they usually do it through the "competition committee."

So - your first-rounders are expensive, but you pick em pretty well. Ours are typically cheaper, and sometimes we don't have one at all. That affords us a better-paid "middle class" of players. That should pretty much suggest how we got to the complaining Colts' excuse-fest this year (and bad performance in terms of W/L.)

Knock yourself out dude... but if you don't win, you don't win, and if you do, you do. Same for us.

And if you lose? Maybe fix your injury assumptions. They can happen to the Colts too. Welcome to reality.

OK, so I finally had a little extra time to do a little checking. Those comments from Polian where made prior to the Eagles game, not leading up to this week's game. So, Polian wasn't setting it up as a possible excuse for the Patriots game. He made those comments two weeks ago. Have you read anything from him about injuries in reference to this week?

I just need to go into hibernation and get away from the tunnel vision pundits. I shouldn't let their comments bother me, but they do. Yes the Colts have injuries, but so does everyone else. Warren, Faulk and Bodden don't count in their minds. We might of been a better team with them in our lineup?

I'll give props to the Colts for playing through the injuries but that is what good teams do, they plug and play. Spare me the Dallas Clark boo hoos, this Tamme kid is leading all TE's in stats since Clark went down. Which is a testament to Tamme's hard work and Manning's greatness. Bob Sanders? He hasn't suited up for that team in years. He's a myth.

The real story here is the Colts offensive line is no longer intact and Jeff Saturday is a year older. Teams are now able to make Manning a little uncomfortable with a lot more QB pressures. Also this team isn't stout against the run and Mathis and Freeney aren't getting to the QB as consistently as they used too.

This team is on the decline unless they put out a good draft or get some help through free agency. This should be the headline this week for the Colts, not their injuries.

Latest injury news

So it looks like the following players are a go:
Eldridge
Haydon
White

And the following players are likely out:
Addai
Hart
Brackett
Session

With Collie still up in the air. Given the practice reports this week, nothing surprising. I still expect Collie to be a scratch. It would look pretty bad from a PR perspective to have the same player taken off on a stretcher 2 times in 15 days. Hard to say you are serious about concussions with that on your resume.

Addai has been a problem for the Pats in the past acting as Manning's safety valve. Interesting to see if Brown (only 3 receptions despite starting the last 2 weeks) can fill that niche.

With Bracket and Session likely out (and Sanders and Bullitt gone), I expect the TEs, Welker and RBs to get a lot of action attacking the middle of the field. Last week, in passes to those counterparts on the Bengals:

20-21 for 142 yds and 1 TD

Not a lot of yards but enough to keep drives alive...plus the Pats have much greater YAC potential than the Bengals. If the Pats can avoid penalties on offense, they should be able to get into a good rhythm.

I've been hearing that drum for quite a while around here.

Normally, I would dismiss it with you, but I'm in agreement with Missile. Your team is getting older and more and more injury prone as the years go on. You're looking a rebuilding period coming up similar to the one that we've been going through for the last year and a half.

Well, if Polian doesn't fix that team's offensive line, Captain Neckbolts is eventually going to wind up getting seriously hurt. When that happens, the Colts will apparently go winless, from the way Colts fans talk.

Exactly! From about 2006 . Now all we have is youth, more draft picks and player experience to look forward to. They can shut the $%^ up now and go move onto another team with their observations.

If Collie plays, he better watch out for Meriweather.... :D

What difference does it make if the excuses came last week or a week ago? They were still made. Why did you even bother posting this.

Because your post made it look like Polian just said it this week. He didn't, he said it 2 games ago. If you have nothing more recent, then you are making a big deal out of nothing.
