Crable released

Doesnt really seem to be the case though, does it?
And its hard to imagine the smart move would be cutting a contributing player to bring a guy off the couch.
I wouldn't dispute that BB may think Woods could come back and help at some level, including special teams, but I would think he would at least get him in and make sure he is in game shape before replacing a guy playing 30 snaps (guessing at what Crable played). At the least I'd think he would cut an inactive.
I think something is up with Crable and this isnt about his play necessarily.

True, but I also don't think they're going to go with 3 OLBs total on the roster. That leaves them one injury away from being in deep trouble. To cut Crable, I'd think they'd have to have someone ready to come in who can take his spot on the depth chart. Other than Woods or Burgess, I'm not sure who else would fit the bill. I agree that it's strange timing, and I don't necessarily see how that makes more sense than just going with Crable either, but Belichick makes a lot of moves that I don't understand. That doesn't really phase me anymore; I just go with it, since his call usually ends up being the right one.

He was just not clicking. The hustle factor isn't there. From what I've seen so far, he didn't seem to line up correctly on a few occasions (had to motion again), got in the wrong 3 point, and had at least 2 instances where he got away with false starts. And of course chasing Ben like he was a big fat lineman.
Are you talking about Crable?
I dont get the going in motion and false start comments.

He was continually in motion up to the snap- as if he couldn't make up his mind what he was supposed to do. There's trickery, and there's confusion. It was definitely the latter.

And yes, at least on two occasions he should have been called for false starts but wasn't.

He definitely wasn't hustling. Example: 20 seconds left in 2nd period, 2nd and 10, Pitts ball on their 40, if you want to FF to that, you'll see him trail a big run play by Moore with a casual jog.

So you don't think he will be picked up by another team then?

I thought if anyone was getting cut it would be an offensive lineman, seems like there's a back load there now with Mankins' return. Eleven by my count... what in the hell?

Just like there no crying in Baseball, there are no false starts on defense.

does this mean BB is finally going to sign Adam Seward? :D

Maybe he's getting re-signed for a longer contract. Remember when TBC got randomly cut last year?
No.

That was before the trading deadline, when TBC as a veteran did not go through waivers, thus it was guaranteed he'd be available to re-sign. After the trading deadline, everyone goes through waivers.

This is so the Colts can claim him for "inside info." He will of course tell them the blitz is coming when it isn't and that Tom is passing when it's a run play. :D

Guys, I figured it out. Belichick released Crable because he finally proved his point. Belichick's 2008 third round OLB has more sacks than the Jets' 2008 1st round OLB :lol2:

What are these defensive false starts you keep speaking about? I don't ever remember a false start being called on the defense.

The guys on PFW In Progress casually mentioned yesterday that someone was in for a workout but didn't say who; then Crable gets cut later that day. Very interesting indeed, but it wouldn't surprise me to see a release/re-sign like TBC from last year

Yup, reminded me of watching my 7 yr old gdaughter play soccer, skipping happily downfield as the girls battle for the ball.

I'm hoping his spot is used on a Kickoff Specialist that can actually get the ball into the endzone.;)

Good bit of info. We'll see what happens.
