The Breeder's Cup this upcoming saturday features a Race Horse named Zenyatta

Zenyatta is 18-0 and going into her final race where she is expected to retire after the race

Now the 2007 Patriots pursuit of perfection is being passed to a Race Horse 3 years later.

Lets hope Zenyatta can achieve the pursuit of perfection to go 19-0 and retire undefeated and beat the 'other Giants' in the race field for us to attain some sort of redemption by way of animal. :)

The Early Lead - Zenyatta is a star no matter how she fares in the Breeders' Cup

Next 3 years it'll be compared to "Lime and spoon" race

18-1 record falls.................

sportsguy33 Bill Simmons

We're off the hook! So long SB 42 demons. So long. RT @archangel_hp: Zenyatta just took the '07 Patriots' record one step further: 19 and 1.

Re: 18-1 record falls.................

yep and she lost like us....by a nose

She did her best,I am not sure the pats did their best back in February of 07

I wish that horse would kick the jockey right in the face

F horse racing.

Re: 18-1 record falls.................

20 lengths back after 1/4 mile, still dead last after 1 mile.
What a stupid race that jockey ran. WTF was he thinking?

Right. Just that's the horse's MO, and how she has one 16 of the previous 19.

Re: 18-1 record falls.................

Smith could get away with that against the ladies, but this was against the big boys.
The was no way in hell he was going to make up that difference,
esp. when his biggest competitor was already 5 lengths ahead at the top of the stretch,
with no traffic jam ahead of him.

He came within 8 inches of making it work. "No way in hell."?

glad that stupid overhyped horse lost

secretariat was better, suck it zenchokeah!

Re: 18-1 record falls.................

Watching the replay, it's obvious to me the horse was the class of that field. The jockey rightfully took blame....that's the way she runs but he needed to make his move sooner and they seemed to get stuck in traffic at least once.

Plus it was a dirt track which she was not as used to. Still she came thundering down the homestretch and needed like two strides to win. She ran out of track.

8 inches or 8 feet, 2nd place is still 2nd place.

After Zenyatta was piched out of the gate, Smith should've headed for the rail,
so that his horse would've been placed comfortably with the second group of horses
that were stalking the first group of 4.

Smith basically played the thoroughbred version of the bend-but-don't-break, prevent defense.
