Could Vikings File a Claim for our 3rd Rd Draft Pick?

Well, the Vikings are still within the 90 days grace period. They can get either a refund or an exchange, assuming they still have the receipt.

:rocker: :singing: :singing: :singing: :rocker:

Lucky they barely used him!

The REAL question is whether the Vikings will waive Chilly.......

THAT would be poetic justice.

Bizzare scenerio, Some how RM comes back and plays the Jests for a third time

are we taking "someone on the NFL network said xxx" seriously?

mediots make crap up all of the time. this is probably what it is. and without a direct quote we're trusting whoever posted this to have heard it correctly. the person could have said "what if the vikings asked for the pick back?" or something similarly hypothetical.

move along, nothing to see here. even the minnesota front office isn't this stupid.

Thinking about it, what grounds would they have to successfully winning a claim like this?

- The draft pick was not conditional
- The Pats were not hiding an injury where they sent them damaged goods (even then, they should have had done a physical)
- The Pats can't get Moss back unless he clears waivers and every team gets a shot at him in the waiver process before the Pats
- The Vikings chose to release him. They weren't forced to.

But the Vikings are no longer playoff contenders, Moss was a disaster, Sidney Rice is coming back, and the Vikings regret the trade and wish they hadn't made it. WHAT ABOUT THEIR FEELINGS? DON'T THEY COUNT FOR ANYTHING?

Seriously, though, the Vikings should have to forfeit an additional draft pick for this underhanded attempt to get Moss, play him against the team they traded with, and try to renege on the deal. That's just pathetic, and it's one of the most incredulous things I've seen in pro sports.

I wasn't aware of the NFL's return policy.

Can we get back the 3rd we gave Al Davis for Derrick Burgess? I'll bet BB can come up with the receipt.

Jason LaConfora - "Texting with a few GMs." "Several believe he ends up back with Patriots."

Interesting...

The Patriots got a full year of useless out of Burgess.

That is just asinine, we didn't just trade Moss to get back nothing in return. The Vikings are criminally stupid if they try to pull this. Pathetic.

They had him for 4 weeks, and Childress was all over the media bragging about the info he was scoring from Moss so things were clearly going OK until yesterday. They have ZERO case.

How can they possibly file to void the trade? They have played games and have even won a game with Moss. You can't "borrow" Moss any more than the Pats "borrowed" the 3rd round draft pick. Is it like computer chess where you can click "undo" and then *poof* it's magically week 4 all over again?

Really, Chilly needs to stop embarrassing himself. Never thought it was possible, but he's digging himself an even deeper hole than this one:

NFL Videos: Sound FX: Brad Childress mic'd up

The stuff at 2:11 is priceless . . .

I would say the Vikings would have to show the Patriots somehow acted in bad faith or otherwise violated NFL rules. Say, for example, the Patriots have been in touch with Moss and been in negotiations over the past month. Or if the Vikings can establish that this was the Patriots' master plan all along.

However, AFAIK, there is absolutely zero evidence whatsoever to suggest that the Patriots did anything illicit. I think the Vikings aren't expecting to just get the pick back, but they are probably angling desperately to try to get the #3 changed to a #5 or something like that.

I swear, on my honor, that if Goodell gives the Vikings that pick back (or changes it to a later pick) without any evidence of Patriots wrongdoing, unless Moss is somehow returned to New England, then I will never again follow football because I refuse to follow a league with the deck stacked against a certain team.

ZERO chance they win this. Many, many experts praised the Vikings for that trade, and chastised Belichick. Just because Belichick is smarter than Childress doesn't mean they have a leg to stand on.

No no no... you don't do that in chess, you do that in Tiger Woods Golf! I save the game before every hole. Then if I shoot a double bogey (or worse) I just restore the game back to my last saved point.

Maybe that's where Chilly got the idea. :D

I don't even understand the surprise; here is the per-game breakdown:

Patriots (3 games): 3 receptions, 46.3 yards, 1 TD, one ridiculous post-game rant

Vikings (4 games): 4.3 receptions, 43.5 yards, .5 TD, one ridiculous post-game rant

On a per-game basis, he actually averaged more ridiculous rants with the Patriots.

Only if the purchase was made with an American Express Card. Don't leave home without it!

The NFL needs to start tracking this stat.

It's the NFL with Goodell in charge. Not only will they give them the 3rd back. They'll take away a 1st for conspiracy to compete.
