He's had 2.5 very good games for us. I think he can become an excellent player.

But, please, saying he's better or "grittier" than Kevin Faulk only makes you look childish and innocently naive.

Let's see him get through two full seasons without breaking down first.

Kevin has been a freaking warrior for this team long before, I assume, you became a fan. If you can't understand what Faulk gave this team, and still might in the future, I can't help you. Woodhead is turning out great, but that doesn't mean you have to denigrate Kevin Faulk. He's not Faulk yet.

ages of both would be nice.

Faulk at w/e age he is at now..... could not endure 2 full seasons. I am putting the house on it (that Woodhead endures 2 full seasons)

Unfortunately Pat Jew is correct. How soon indeed. Faulk has all my thanks for everything he did for this organization. A true Patriot, however we know the way of the Patriots. It's part of their success to the dismay of plenty of fans.. Atleast it's not quite as bad as Logan's run.

No disrespect taken but that statement is ludicrous considering the average career of a football player is only 3 or 4 years. You just compared Woodhead to a guy who will almost surely be in the Patriots hall of fame.

Faulk certainly has the experience edge over Woodhead, but I think it is obvious that Woodhead is faster and quicker than Faulk is, especially at this point in Faulk's career.

I've been saying for the past couple years that we needed to start looking for Faulk's successor, and I think we've found him. I think the Meggett comparisons being made by the announcers today were apt.

Let's see how he does in year 10 before we even begin to compare.

aome fans are too quick to annoint the next best model.

Let's wait and see if he can make adjustments to being game planned against.

It's easy to look great when there's little film out there on your tendencies.

He's fun to watch and it's great for us ... let's not jinx the work he still needs to do.

BTW Faulk is a sure bet for the Patriots HOF ... Danny doesn't yet have a toe in that door.

This guy is faulk's replacement.....We need to lock him down right now for a good 5 years or so.....It is refreshing to have him out there as I almost feel as comfortable with him as I did when faulk was out there.....

Edelman > Welker?
Edelman's digging himself deeper into Bill's doghouse by each passing game.
He cost us 15 yds of field position by fair-catching a punt on the 5-yd line.

Then again, Welker also fair-caught a punt at the end of regulation,
when it would've been wiser for him to just let it fall.

There's still time for Edelman to re-establish his presence as a WR,
because Brandon Tate was MIA from the passing game, too.

IIRC correctly, Faulk started out his career by fumbling the ball like it was greased.

If someone back then compared Faulk to Tony Collins you would be acting the same.

SO FAR, Woodhead has shown himself to be capable and effective.

Time will tell if he is durable, etc etc, but right now, his play is easing the loss of Faulk, a guy who most said no one could replace at any level.

Give the kid credit for what he is doing. COming out of nowhere, street-free agent, getting on the team after the season started, and picking up the offense well enough that third-down back is not the disaster we all thought it would be without Faulk.
