Cunningham Looks Good

Seeing TBC off the field on 1st and 2nd downs makes me very happy.

He's quickly learning which techniques work best for him. He's also learning when to use said techniques (such as the swim move) and when to use pure speed to beat LT's. I think it's also important to mention that Deaderick is also improving one game at a time. Seemed capable of holding up against double teams, was handling single blockes, and was getting a good push into the backfield. He also got a nice sack today. On top of that, the big man is pretty fleet of foot, staying step for step with Flacco and forcing him out of bounds earlier in the game.

Yeah it was great to see him perform today. Specially because i didn't have any real expectations for him coming into the early part of the season... definately has impressed me

He had a major impact today. I was cracking up when he drew the PF on McClain that was gold (and very smart at the same time).

Ninko is also still a solid contributor even when he's not making INT's :) TBC-Mayo-Spikes-Cunningham with Ninko Crable and Guyton in the mix as well I'm liking this lineup and where it's headed.

He was the best player on defense today. I am surprised and excited by how much he's improved from game 1. He showed flashes of being a great pass rusher especially against a very good OT.

Glad SOMEONE else noticed this

I was very pleased with some of what I saw from Cunningham today, but I find this thread to be a little TOO happy about it. I saw plenty of runs around his un-set edge, and while I'm not saying that takes away from the great stuff we did see today, I'm unable to be purely convinced that he's a "stud" now. Goodness.

Hard not to notice. Rodak noted how Deaderick seemed overwhelmed by double teams in the Dolphins game. I didn't see that today. He seemed to hold his own against double teams and was able to get a good amount of push into the backfield when he was one-on-one with a blocker. He also got a nice sack. As a DE in our defense, you can't ask for much more than the game Deaderick had today.

How about a little perspective? There are reasons to be excited. This is his 5th game!

Cunningham did look McGinest-esque today. Now we just need to make sure Phifer, Vrabel and Colvin are found.

He was good today. I hope he keeps up the good work

Not only was it his 5th game, it was a game against a good tackle, and that good tackle gave up a strip-sack, a holding penatly, two false starts, and a whole bunch of pressures to him. And spent most of the day with help.

He dominated a good player, and thats a fantastic sign.

Good call.

He looked pretty decent out there, lets hope he keeps improving.

He was lights out. I've never seen anyone dance around Oher like that, got right into his head. Oher was right gimmicked he went into bucket steps before the snap and got that false start.

Jermaine was McGinestian today.

I love the young pieces of the puzzle coming together.

He's definitely getting there. His contain on the edge was outstanding today!!! I'm so proud of this defense right now. I felt more pride in this victory than I have in a win in a long long long time.

Don't forget Seymour!!!!

I've been saying for a couple years now that we're a prime Willie and prime Big Sey away from having a legitimate D again, looks like we might be getting close!!!

Get your screen shot breakdown up for it!

As a wise man once said "we shouldn't be waxing his bronze statue yet," I agree he's not a stud yet. But, considering this is VERY early in his rookie year, you have to be very very pleased. He actually looks like he could be a legitimate starting outside linebacker, and we haven't had one since my boy Willie left. I really don't know if he'll ever be Willie, probably won't be. I think people forget (or didn't realize) just how dominating a force Willie truly was. It didn't always show up in the stat sheet, but the guy really wreaked havoc game after game. He lost some production in the prime of his career, because of injuries. But, if you go back and watch the games from those SB years, you'll see him making a lot of plays we haven't seen an olb make here for a while now.
