The Pats have control of their seeding destiny up to 2nd seed.

I incorrectly posted over on KFFL that this was true BECAUSE SD lost. Actually, it's been true all along. At this point, if the Pats hypothetically run the table, the only team that could be seeded ahead of them would be Denver. (Had SD not lost, "Denver" would have to be replaced in that sentence by "the AFC West champion".)

Third place in the conference; control of their destiny up to second seed -- I'll take that gladly at this point in the season.

i thought were 3rd..

1. Colts - undefeated
2. Broncos - beat us

we can get in 1st by beating Colts and hoping Denver loses more than us right?

Still way too early to tell.

The Pats could lose to the Colts and still get the #1 seed, provided they finish with a better record than any other AFC team (obviously).

Denver or Indy????

My question is..who should Patriot fans be cheering for next week...Denver or Indy?? Why?? Just without studying it..I would think Indy..beationg Denver, giving them a loss more..BUT? I am not sure at all.. Could both teams beat up on each other?? I think everyone hopes for that...

I dislike the Colts so bad, I'm rooting for the Broncos no matter what's at stake - top seed, 2nd seed, whatever. I fear the whole "Manning's God and the Colts are unbeatable" media mob scene is about to rear it's ugly head...... once again.....:(

Re: Denver or Indy????

I honestly think Denver will give the Colts their first loss especially at Mile High. Denver's rushing offense ranks in the top 5 and they should be able to run up and down the field. As to who to cheer for? To hell with both of them, let them just beat the living daylights out of each other.

His point was the Pats control there destiny up to the second seed.

If the Pats run the table, that would mean they beat Indy, hence they would win the tie braker and be seeded ahead of Indy!

Hard to figure. The Colts have had the Broncos number the same way the Broncos have had our number and the Pat have the Cots number.

My gut tells me the Colts win this game.

I'm reluctantly pulling for the Colts because we could be on top of the AFC after our game November 5th, with only a couple of toughies in Chicago and the Jags.

The Jags lost to the Texans today.

The Colts nail the Broncos. The Pats nail the Colts. Denver loses a few more. We stay out of Denver in January.

Man plans, God laughs.

Oddly, the Jags always struggle against Houston.

Every team seems to have one of those teams that they struggle with. For us it is Miami.

As for seeding, I was thinking the same thing. Win the division, beat the Colts and Jags, and we are in great shape. Losses to NFC teams do not hurt as much as to AFC teams since record vs conference opponents is pretty high up in the tiebreaker hierarchy. I could take a loss to the Vikes and Bears if it meant winning all of the rest of the AFC games.

Now you sir I like.

Nice avatar by the way;)

I'll be pleased if the Broncos lose, because (i) we need to avoid going to Mile High in January, and (ii) it will make knocking off an undefeated Colt team in two weeks that much sweeter. Also, gotta believe that the Colts playing a team we played recently will provide some good film study. This is shaping up nicely for a mid-season game with playoff hype -- and unlike last year, our defense is intact. Of course, there is this game in Minnesota next week...
