Because we got rid of Randy Moss?

Just want to see where most of us stand.

The thread about the Pats fan rooting for the Vikes against us got me thinking about this.

You coulda made better choices. Anything short of going to The Super Bowl represents screwed to me. An AFC Championship Game appearance is always nice, come to think of it (and being 6-1 in them even more appealing). Your thing designates "not screwed" by just making the playoffs. We did that last year, yet were shown just how screwed we were the freaking minute the playoffs started.

It's quarter to 4 in the morning. Gawd, I wish I could sleep. Voting on this poll at this hour just makes me feel pathetic. lol. Maybe some of those U.K. Pats Fans are awake, or at least PatJew. I feel all alone in here. Hey look! I'm the first one voting! Oh boy! Now, where's the Ambien? Btw, that stuff IS pretty trippy if ya take 4 or 5 of em. And those stories about "sleep eating" are true. I'd walk into the kitchen the next morning and say,"Man, who made this mess?" It was me! Freaking sleep walking and eating. You shoulda seen some of the food combinations I mixed together. Yuk. Musta tasted good at the time. I can't remember. Anyway, I recommend Ambien, for all its qualities, sleep inducing and otherwise. heh heh heh.

I didnt vote, because of the limited poll choices. Losing Moss doesnt mean the team wont go the playoffs. Having Brady doesnt automatically mean the team makes the playoffs. They won 3 SBs without Moss. They went 11-5 without Brady.

If they keep improving in all three phases, I think they'll make the playoffs. Its no different than any year. We're not screwed yet ;)

Just dont drink while taking those. They were serious when they told me no alcohol. Worst hangover in history :bricks:

These polls are beating a dead horse and a whole lot disengenuous.. there is a lot of ground between your choices....

Are we screwed, no... pure and simple. This team will still win between 10-13 games and probably go to the playoffs...

it will only take 10 or maybe even 9 wins to make the playoffs so im pretty sure the pats get in IMO the pats are still one of the top 3 seeds in the AFC

Last nights performances and results will tell you one thing. we're far from screwed. "IF" the D can step up I consider the NE patriots contenders

Yes.
I voted Yes Please, I would like 4 or 5 ambien.

I voted no on the poll though I do not like the limited choices either.

edit: Should we add Teenuh and ambien as mandatory poll options? Maybe I should start a poll about it.

I voted no. We are screwed because we have no defense.

Oh, this degenerate with the striper silhouette poses an interesting pairing. (Oh, yer not a degenerate, ima just pokin' fun at the trucker avatar. Plus, it was kind of a compliment, really.)
Teenuh AND Ambien? Yeah, we can take a pole on who wants to see Teenuh take 4 or 5 Ambien and watch to see if she does the sleepwalk binge eating thing lots of people have reported they've discovered they'd done upon awakening.
Now, that's a pole with possibilities. heh heh heh.

It kills me whenever she shows up. All the young bucks who spend half the day over here all get in a freaking frenzy. Bwah! You should see some of the jargon, stats, and reporters names they were typing. It's like,"Okay fellas, watch how informed and in the know ima make myself look." They all fall over each other trying to impress her with their own personal version of "Hey, look at me. Lookie all the obscure cutting edge Pats info I'm in the know about. Pretty good, huh?"

I was bored yesterday afternoon and just happened to see all the quality "Teenuh Feeding Frenzy" threads over here as they were happening.

I do have to say, from a 44 year old's perspective, those early 20's guys did pretty well with her, all things considered.

Yeah, considering all the unspoken & untyped adrenaline rushes and decidedly "UN-football board" thoughts racing through their little testosterone noggins. lol! Whew, I'm glad all those days are behind me. It's fun seeing how they deal with it tho. Thing is, I know... just KNOW most of 'em feel almost tortured having to just talk footbawl with her. I kicked back yesterday afternoon and watched the masochists indulge themselves. Ahh... the pleasure and pain factor was good thread material, alright.

Sorry Ian. ima be a good boy now. Well, it's just that shirtsleeve was eggin' me on. You know, with that obscure pairing and all. You know a dionysian writer's mind can't resist broaching this particular topic. Look, I'm just the right guy to shed light on it, is all. ima behave myself now, k?

Funny stuff, and thanks for pickin it up

Sweet! Another wicked clever poll about Moss! Yep. The Pats are definitely dooooomed!! They're only 3-1 and have no one else on the team that can score TD's.:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Push Giant Panic Button

Mass Suicide cause Randy's gone!who's with me?

Enough of these threads. We will get by Bill finds a way.

Losing Moss hurts, but I still have high hopes for this season. The Jets are a half game up on us in the division due to their week 2 win at the Meadowlands, but if we hold serve at Gillette, there's no reason we can't win the division. The defense has struggled, but will only get better as the season progresses.

I don't think we'll secure a top-2 seed with a bye, but then I didn't consider that realistic even with Moss. The AFC looks really tough this year, but so long as we can make the play-offs, we have a chance.

Thanks for lobbing me that nice juicy softball. Now, it's down into the corner subway and off to the methadone clinic. lol. Hey, years worth of "NYC sex, drugs, & Rock & Roll Small Indie Record Label Owner" lifestyle came with a price attached.
I feel I've met a kindred spirit over here. Now, watch this thread hijack get deleted. I betcha if Shmessy sees it he'll freaking reprimand me. Just remember, Shmessy, I was the 1st to vote on this dang poll. I just had the itch to type a little in the middle of the night. Now, be nice ta me.

It's a quality hijack, tho, don't cha think? Hey, it's the bye week Monday morning. Cut me a little creative slack, will ya? I hadn't done one in weeks and it's just that shirtsleeve set me up soooo well.

Okay, bye. lol.

The obvious answer to the question as worded is "no."

The more interesting question would be: "Are we better off, worse off or no different for the rest of this season having traded Randy Moss after week four?"

Define "better off" as: week in and week out we would have had a better chance of winning with Moss in the lineup. Define "worse off" as: "week in and week out we have a better chance of winning without Moss in the lineup." Define "no different" as: "Moss' presence or absence will make no difference in the team's final record or performance."

There are many teams already screwed up...like the Cowboys, Niners, Panthers, Chargers, Lions, and the Raiders. Their teams are dysfunctional.

Be happy that the Patriots @ 3-1 with a great coach and QB.

...Enough of these threads. We will get by Bill finds a way.

I refuse to believe that Bill throws in the towel at 3-1, and he will find a way to compete. God that is sounding so much like 'in Bill we trust'. ugh.

I also agree with everyone else...I'm sick of All Moss All The Time. 1 week was fine...let's get to some football.

Of course the Pats aren't screwed. Look at the league. Is there really any clear cut dominant teams? A few teams like the Ravens, Jets, and Steelers look to be the creame of the crop, but five weeks in you never know. Green Bay is decimated by injuries. The Colts, Chargers, and Cowboys are struggling. I guarantee you that the Pats will be in the top 5-10 best teams in the league in virtually every Power Poll this week even after losing Moss.

If the Pats defense can start building confidence and stop making mistakes that they are making (mostly because of inexperience), this team could be a legitimate Super Bowl contender because right now there are no real dominant teams. Every team has weaknesses that can be exploited.

There weren't enough choices for me. We ares till likely to make the playoffs. At season's end, we will debate whether Moss would have had made the difference in our not winning the Super Bowl.
