If Moss trade happens, have your expectations of the 2010 season gone down?

Bizzare is all I can say if this deal goes down
4 games into the season and you trade your best wide reciever andost dangerous for a 3rd rd pick??
Were not talking about a stacked recieving team here
or a steel curtain D that can shut down the oponents big time.
This move is just going to make it more difficult for welker
and for the running game.
If pats miss the playoffs after this goofy move
I would hope GM is sent packing
and heads roll!!

I felt the pats had a chance to go to the superbowl, the receiving core was deep and talented...now the receiving core is shallow, young and inexperienced. Welker ain't gonna be able to carry this team, 8 men in the box say hello.

I though they may have a shot at 12-4 now 9-7....I really doubt pats can keep up with packers, chargers, colts, jets, and steelers without randy moss.

and minnesota

9-7 at best without Randy.

Ravens are vulnerable in the secondary and strong in the Welker zone...why mess with that? That will be a loss without Randy. 4-1 vs. 3-2.

Chargers have too much of a pass rush for slow-developing plays to be a factor (which means that we will probably draw up the majority of the plays that way). Loss with our without Randy. 4-2 vs. 3-3.

Vikings at home. With Randy, I think we can beat them. If Randy is on the other sideline, God help us. 5-2 vs. 3-4.

I think we can beat the Browns, regardless. 6-2 vs. 4-4.

Steelers game is interesting. We will have to see how they look with Big Ben this week. I was expecting this to be a challenge with Randy, can't imaging that not having him helps in any way. 6-3 vs. 4-5.

Colts at home...I think we can win on the ground if we are not too far behind. Randy has played very well against them the last few years, so not having him definitely does not help. Still, I think this is a winnable game. 7-3 vs. 5-5.

Lions on Thanksgiving. Short week. If we can't win that game without Randy, we aren't going anywhere with him. 8-3 vs. 6-5.

Monday Night. Jets. Gillette. Randy opens things up for Wes. Without him, we got problems. 9-3 vs. 6-6.

Soldier Field. Julius Peppers makes the deep threat less of an issue. Our D wins this one for us. 10-3 vs. 7-6.

Packers at home. Again, pass rush takes away slow-developing plays, so Randy is less of a difference-maker. Hard to see us winning this one without a marked improvement in the secondary. 10-4 vs. 7-7.

Randy had two TD's in the first Bills game, but that is still a winnable game without him. 11-4 vs. 8-7.

Dolphins at home. Obviously, Randy was not much of a factor in Monday's game, so I think we can win again with the Dolphins on our turf. 12-4 vs. 9-7.

My original expectations were 11-5. I can see us going 12-4 with Randy, but only 9-7 without him.

Feel free to mock, humiliate or even politely respond.

The question is pretty simple since there's no reason to think we would be better without Moss. But being the hopeful Pats fan I am :D I'll cheer on those younger players to step up and take over his responsibility.

It's either that or go on suicide watch :help:

Without Randy, the only way out is the dink and dunk offense. Gone are the gaudy stats for Brady. If we don't go for a vertical threat, I'm not sure what is going to happen. Brady going back to his old ways is the only hope

Expectations will be greatly lowered. Maybe we were not going to the SB with or without Moss, but either way we are losing the most gifted WR to ever wear a Pats uni. I say we lose 3 games we would have won w/o Moss. 12-4 goes to a 9-7 season and no POs. :(

On the surface, I have to say that I don't like the deal, especially if we're not bringing in someone who will contribute immediately on the offense/defense.

The only positive I can see from this at the moment is that opposing teams will have a harder time game planning against the Pats offense as (apart from Welker) they won't be able to key in on one particular player to take away from the offense.
Anyone of Tate, Gronkowski, Hernandez, Crumpler, Woodhead, Price, Edelman, Morris, Green-Ellis or Taylor (when fit) could be the big 'Go to' guy on any given play.

Interesting times ahead.

Don't be silly. Tate is even faster than Moss and would make a fine deep threat. Edleboy can run Tate's routes. We won't be as good, but barring injury, the Pats will still have a fine complement of receivers.
