Trade makes no sense from any angle.......

Why would moss want to be traded to a team with a side show QB, who prolly is all done and if he isn't will keep the whole team in the dark this offseason.

Brady HAS to think this sucks...guy that made him elite sent packing.

Patriots basically giving there most potent offensive weapon away mid season.

More draft pics Bellyache will most likely piss away.

Moss was mildly upset over his contract, but unless hw went completely off the reservation since monday, I just don't get it.

Moss made Brady elite? Dumbest thing I've read here today, and believe me, you had some pretty strong competition.

Brady wasn't an elite QB before Moss? You've got to be kidding. Moss gave Brady his first legitimate deep threat and oh btw he missed him more on those deep threats than he hit him.

The reason that this trade makes perfect sense is because they had no intention of giving him an extension, so instead of him becoming a cancer as the season wears on and getting nothing for him as he goes to F/A they now have a 3rd rounder and a cancer free lockerroom for the balance of the season.

As for Moss being the most potent weapon on offense....stop, that could easily be Welker, Hernandez or even Brady before its Moss.

I'd be willing to bet that this doesn't happen without brady being in the loop.

in fact, I think the opposite will happen in that brady will become rejuvenated working with the young guys.

the pats have nothing to lose now. and if I was another team, I would be worried about that fact.

I think you're going to be surprised how less often Welker is open when hes no longer being covered by a linebacker.

Re: I give the deal a 'thumbs up'

You are a brave man :)

You dudes are fooling yourselves. Brad'y level of play/production went through the roof woth moss on board.

Without moss dragging two defenders everywhere he goes, things won't be so easy for welker and the rest.

Moss was by far the most potent weapon...........Stoopid ****** trade. Thanks bill.

"Well, F$^%" - Brady
"Indeed" - Welker

In seriousness, I'm sure Brady will be a little disapointed since it seemed he liked Randy. But I'm sure he'll make it work to some extent. He has done more with less. Doesn't mean I'm happy, but what's done is done.

EDIT: I mean to say in that next to last sentence that he has done good with more than what he has now (without Moss).

Re: I give the deal a 'thumbs up'

Minn gave up a first and third for moss...only they were about 12 years apart.

Quite possibly the stupidest thing ever written here. That's such flawed thinking that you should be put on Patsfans probabtion.

Re: I give the deal a 'thumbs up'

well..... I was deemed a 'hater' a long time ago.

the biggest plus here is that the scheme will require the offense to become tougher and more physical.

I want to see a 21 year old 6'6" / 270lb TE paste a 35 year old Ray Lewis and then follow it up with a pancake of terrell suggs.

I want to see the pats say 'screw it, we are the youngest team out there, so lets make these old farts pay for it'

"Bellyache" was funny I have to give him that

I wonder what Favre/Moss will do to the pats shutdown secondary here in a couple weeks...........god what a nightmare.

I'm not saying I like the trade but . . .

to say it makes no sense from any angle is just wrong. If you assume we would lose him at the end of the year anyway, we got a #3 in 2011 instead of a #5 (at best) in 2012 (per comp pick expert AdamJT13, see other posts) so we got a lot more than had we kept him. That doesn't necessarily make it a good trade but it makes sense in that way.

As for Brady, I'm sure he loved Moss in some ways but he's probably happy to no longer have to babysit him.

Moss to BB: "I'm very unhappy my consecutive pass streak is broken." BB: "You're unhappy after the big team win we had Monday night? Okay you can start a new streak in Minnesota." You gotta laugh.
