Rumor: Moss to Vikings?

Re: Mixed Feelings on Moss

Look who he is throwing too. A hurt Harvin. A god awful Berrian (dropping every pass), and Greg Lewis. Remember the Ravens game when brady threw all them INTs? Nobody is blaming him...

now that Moss *might* be there, how is anything changing? Moss will be doubled and Favre will be throwing to him all the time and get picked off... we all know the story... Favre is too old, he isn't going to do anything anymore... he overachieved last year and look what he did 2 years ago at New York...

Re: Mixed Feelings on Moss

you are comparing Jake Delhomme with Brett Favre? wow...i'm speechless...

at this point they both are about at the point where their careers are over... both were dare devils to begin with, now add age to them and they are useless... Favre already has triple the picks he than touchdowns and did terrible in Miami and Detroit...

The latest...
Moss to Vikes tommorow if they can hammer out a new contract tommorrow.
Pats get????
Adam Schefter

*looks for gun to put in mouth*

Maybe next we can trade Brady

Look at what he did two years ago in New York BEFORE getting injured.

Look at how well he played last year. We will see loloooooooooo. Moss won't make Favre worse, that line of thinking is hilarious.

Re: Mixed Feelings on Moss

I'm just saying, I'd be upset too if I thought Randy Moss was getting traded for a second round pick...

I'm never upset when the Pats make the tough decisions. That's what has made them great over the years. Moss is worried about his age and the lockout, and he doesn't have his full focus on the Pats, who are apparently not rolling out a big long term contract. Good luck to the Vikes if they think making a big splash with big names is what it takes.

I can see BB doing this trade for a 2012 1st round pick. Considering this is the last year of favres contract. maybe he figures a 2012 pick will be in the high teens. If Jackson is the starting QB

I know it rained today. I don't know how much it rained.

That is your response? Really?? It's no wonder why people get annoyed with you. You made a definitive statement, then back tracked from it, then you make an analogy that supports your orginal definitive statement, that you backed off from.

You talk in circles. :bricks:

Not true. I had the unfortunate brain fart to pick BF for my fantasy team, so I have been watching him closely. His failure to show up for training camp made him out of shape and out of sync with his receivers, and his injuries have definitely caught up to him. He has stunk it up so far.

If this trade is real, I predict disappointment for everyone involved. The Pats' offense won't be nearly the same, and God forbid Welker goes down or needs a game or two off. Randy will realize his dream of playing with Favre and scoring his last big contract was a "grass is always greener" illusion, and he'll have flashbacks to his days with the Raiders, frustrated and leaving the field before the clock reads 0:00, and the Viking fans will have their own "Moss emotions watch" threads before long.

Agreed. I've seen two Vikings games from start to finish, including their win, and Favre was awful in both of them. Even one of his TDs was due to a busted coverage where nobody was within 10 yards of Percy Harvin. He's looked slow, hesitant, unable to read his guy, and basically kinda disinterested. He outright admitted that he didn't really want to come back, and it shows.

I'm guessing he's injured now... look how terrible he's playing... how is Moss going to make him better? yeah hell get some more yardage but his interceptions will triple... his deep ball isn't even close to Brady's even when Brady is having an off day...

Bottom line:

1) If Moss wants out and we can get value for him, we should trade him. Beside him wanting out, the other compelling factor is this is, very likely, Moss' last year with the Patriots.
2) The Patriot offense will not be as good without Moss
3) The Patriot offense will still be good without Moss
4) Without a very big step forward in the defensive play, we are not a viable SB contender with or without Moss
4) If we get draft picks for Moss, I think a majority of fans will not be happy trading Moss, will shrug their shoulders and accept this is how BB runs the ship (like it or not).
5) If we get a player who improves the defense, ideally someone in the secondary -- especially someone who will be here for a while, I am not only thrilled with the trade but we just got closer to being a contender.
6) Expounding on 5, I like the idea of an improved defense along with a passing offense that contains Brady, Welker, Tate, Hernandez, Gronk, Woodhead. Unfortunately I doubt the trade will include an improvement to our defense (at least for this season).
7) I'll believe Moss is traded when it happens. Until then this is just wild speculation by a sports media that wouldn't know the truth if it was written on their foreheads.
8) If Moss is to be traded then I am glad it is to Farve and the Vikings. Not only is it good for the NFL, it is good for our bargaining position. The Vikings will overpay to get Farve, in his last year, a star WR. Hell we might even get out of Goodell's dog house by aiding the swan song of Lord Farve. Gooddell and the NFL will be popping the champagne bottles if they can get Lord Farve in the SB.

Bill Belichick has been successful because he has the coconut sized balls to make decisions like this, whereas others would shyt their pants.

He was smart enough to know that Brady could replace Bledsoe, maybe he thinks Tate can replace Moss.

I pray to GOD that these rumors are true!! :D

And I'll bet they ARE!! :rocker:

This is upsetting. If all we get is another ****ing mid round draft pick I'm going to be broken up like I was when we cut Milloy and Colvin/Brady injuries.

Do you guys realize we're the laughing stock of other fanbase's forums at the moment? You all are acting like the guy that's in love with the hot girl with the ****ty personality.

It's a business. Don't get attached to players. Anyone on the team not named Brady is expendable to the organization.

Oh I sense the bitterness in your text. Im bettin the farm. Heres some powerball numbers for ya 04 12 18 28 69 and either 81 or 84. :D
I'm not exactly sure how or why I should be bitter about something that may or may not happen, and that's without even getting into how the alleged trade works out for either side. I guess I have this strange habit of watching the games to wait and see what happens rather than crowing about things that have yet to happen, and perhaps never will. Good luck with your farm though. I'll stick with 36, 38 and 39 in my Powerball numbers, thank you - though as a Viking fan I would think you would stay away from 04 - along with 07, 09 and 11.

We aren't getting a 1st rnd pick for a 33 year old even if hes a future hall of famer.

Felger is right about Moss. You don't marry the stripper.Time to move on from Moss he is poison.

iam fine with it too but the timing of this sucks..thats all..if they did this in offseason or training camp or preseason it wouldve made more sense...right now there isnt much time for the team to recover and readjust the offense esp that they dont have a dynamic running game either

Clearly you have no idea what the Vikings are about. I will repeat again...the Vikings are not a passing team like the Patriots. Their MO is a strong defense and the running game (Adrian Peterson). Favre at this point is but a game manager unless its 3rd and long.

I say the Pats will get the better deal out the two... yeah we lost our best receiver... but we have Brady. Points will decrease, but Brady will not have to throw to double coverage much anymore. we will probably throw more screens now though
