Rumor: Moss to Vikings?

Agree with this. If we keep Moss and let him sign a UFA deal, we would get a (best case) 3rd rounder in the 2012 draft. If he doesn't perform with his new team, or if he signs for moderate money, the pick could easily be lower. Compensatory picks come at the end of the round.

So, a 2011 3rd rounder from Minnesota is clearly not the same thing. It is unambiguously better. And it's tradeable.
This ignores one crucial point: You lose his services for the next 12 games (plus the playoffs). Yes a 3rd rounder is better than a 5th rounder but is it better than a 5th rounder plus having Randy Moss for all of 2010?

Call me crazy, but I consider the Patriots to be championship contenders year in and year out, this year being no exception. This seems to me to be the type of move we usually see from the Kansas City Royals in late July.

Mmmm...i'm sorry but have you only watched Randy Moss only just this year?

Good lord man...youtube Moss sometime...Moss makes his living with "You run as fast as you can and I'll throw it as far as I can."

I'm not a man and I've watched him plenty. I was thinking more of the Grandfather Favre character not holding up his end of the bargain. Have you watched HIM this year?

This one is really going to hurt (me) if it happens. I won't assign blame, but it will just suck.

Yes it will. But we have a young talented team and if Moss is unhappy, he will get more unhappy and this will really blow up later. I think everyone knows that deep down.

It's getting something and keeping the team focused IMO.

Terry Glenn left us with...

Lawyer Milloy... It's a team game.

I wonder if the Vikings would be interested in moving Harvin as part of any deal with Moss.

PHONE CALL:

Brad Childress:"Hey,Billy Boy....sorry about that Garrett Mills screw-up....Can we talk about Randy?"

Bill Belichick:"F-ck you.....Put your boss on"

LMAO...classic

Who would have thought it would come to this? Think back to the Welker injury and who would have thought the Pats would be trading Moss at this point in the season? Crazy.

This situation should have been dealt with before the season began.

exactly..this seems like a baseball move by the pirates or royals..

Well this team gave away Vrabel and Cassel for NOTHING!!!

I would not be surprised if they gave away the teams best WR ever for a 3rd rounder.

I am not happy.

Pat Chung says hi! :bricks:

What has Vrabel done in two years in KC? Here I'll do it for you he has 6 solo tackle in 3 games this season with 1 forced fumble. He had 2 sacks last year with 43 tackles.

I hated that Vrabel was part of the trade emotionally. But he is done.

sounds like the trade is a forgone conclusion, probably a half-dozen sources reporting it now. too late to go back and keep moss at this point i think.

unless you're a homer it's pretty obvious that the pats are much, much worse without moss and the already slim chances of winning the sb go to just about -0-

Take a minute to how all of your patriot fans are feeling about losing Moss and how much it sucks! Thats exactly how us Vikings fans felt when our idiot owner McCombs shipped him off to Oakland. We are estatic to have him back. But I feel for you guys. Your lucky to have brady and a good system though. Unlike us were we are wondering what the hell Chili is doing.

That cannot be overstated. Especially for those bashing BB right now. BB did not instigate this.

Are we sure about that? NFLN just said that Moss did NOT request this.

They're undefeated.

Plus Vrabel was a throw in. We would have gotten the same value out of the trade anyway. Thats what bothered me about that trade.

Really doubt this will happen... we will have to get Allen and Harvin if this is going to happen.... ship mankins too

Teach losers how to win

Help salvage the career of a wildly underachieving Derrick Johnson

Help to anchor a defense that's gotten the team off to a 3-0 start

thanks for the support .trust me brett to moss will not come close to tom to moss or culpepper to moss .

Cripes what a mess. I am going to bed and will wake up to the inevitable conclusion.
