Who do you all think is the best these days covering the Pats?

I'd say Rapaport's "Rap Sheet" (Herald) is my favorite... lots of updates, has audio/video clips, good writing style, and he has a generally favorable yet down-to-earth view of the team.

I used to be a big fan of Reiss at the Globe, but don't like his new stuff with ESPN Boston as much, and he's gotten awful cynical lately. The statistical run-down he provides (along with Mike Rodak) is solid though. The new "Extra Points" blog that took over for him is done by a bunch of writers and is generally pretty well-done too, about at the same level that Reiss' Pieces was IMO.

Who else is worth following?

Rapoport is doing very well, but Reiss is still the best. I don't see him as being cynical or even falling under the spell of the ESPN crap machine. (If anything, I'd say the biggest influence on him being more sharply critical is Bruschi!). I think his analyses are still well supported, never snarky and he has good empathy with fans. Love the film review he and Rodak do. I don't see Rapoport as having the same analytical skills at this point.

Globe staff has just seemed flat to me. We'll see how Bedard does; seemed to connect well with fans in GB.

Here are the Pats links in my NFL folder:

I don't find Reiss cynical. I still read his blog and it's probably my favorite as far as Pats writers go.

Same here, with Reiss.

I also like the WEEI Patriots page.

I follow Reiss on twitter and check the espn page at least once a day. I only look at the other guys if there is a specific story I want to look at.

I often read Reiss and Rap, so I would say them two.

I agree about Reiss...VERY analytical and solid..Is there more than that needed?? I also agree Rap is not bad..as I do have that linked and often visited as well as Price on EEI. The Globe is OK...more of the same..nothing really added...wish I could say more about something shining there, bUT..all down hill. Maybe the new guy will really help. I go with Reiss for the analysis...although for breaking stories..the others sometimes do better.

rap is good but jumps to news without confirming quite a few times. He seems to making some contacts though. Reiss is the best..balanced and to the point .
Breer was good until he became obsessed with finding a new job talking about everyone else being awesome other than the local team.

Cprice at WEEI is pretty good too.

Still Reiss. I don't get the cynical thing at all.

Remember Brian Lowe? What's he doing now? I heard his voice in an interview not too long ago, so I know he's still around the team... maybe it's just that I don't follow Patriots.com as much as I used to when he was the PVN guy.

Felgar.........

Phil Simms...best ever

PFW, Chris Price and Reiss.

They're bookmarked on my Chrome browser along with Peter King.

yeah but Chris is from HERE...so, of course

Without question, Paul, Fred, Andy, and Eric from Patriots Football Weekly offer up the best patriots info and breakdown. Reiss does a great job with the twitter work and breaking the stories. But the PFW staffs work is well done. Though if you listen to their radio show, they have taken an extreme negative side on the team, which has become annoying. But they still offer up plenty of insight.
