The Defense played good enough to win

Mark Sanchez recorded the highest regular-season QB rating of his NFL career in this game: 124.3.

Is that the type of QB rating associated with a defense playing "good enough"?

Life is 10% what happens to you n 90% how u react to it. Tough game for me 2day but i'll bounce back! #GoPats 2 minutes ago via Echofon

I still want to punch him in the face.

I'm a little scared to find out what Darius Butler's definition of "bouncing back" is. I hope it doesn't look like anything he has shown in his career thus far.

Moss was targeted 10 times. He caught two balls. None in the second half. Brady has not been remotely inaccurate this season. Is it a bad decision to go to the most talented receiver on the team who is in his contract season after signing a 3 year $27M deal? Apparently it sure can be. That first long throw to Moss doesn't get any better unless the receiver doesn't bobble it...

I love Brady but lets face it, hes missed some throws so far this year. Hell has he thrown a dump off to faulk that wasnt way over his head this year, he did it to Morris today too.

First 4 offensive drives of the second half went for
17 plays, 39 yards, 4 first downs and 2 turnovers.
The score went from 14-10 to 21-14. One score in those drives and its a tie game.
The 2 Ints were unforced errors.
The other 2 were a 3 and out on the misfire to Gronkowski followed by a hit while throwing on 3rd, and the inexplicable heave to Moss on 3rd and 7.
I dont think anyone is saying the defense played well, but if the offense showed up for the 2nd half the defense did play well enough for the offense to win the game.
The offense got the ball up 4, up 1, down 7 and down and gave it back with no change in the score.

Right now I'm a little scared that we are absofrigginlutely ****ed at the CB position. Even though I think Butler will improve and will hopefully be a solid starting corner or nickle guy someday, the fact that he is one of Dion Sanders' "followers" doesn't bode well in terms of having what it takes to succeed on a BB-coached team.

He seems like a solid kid, but I don't like the "it's all good" tone of his tweet. It should have been more like, "man I was burned to a crisp today, let my team down, and need to improve about a thousand percent by next week or BB is going to boot my ass into the next time zone."

Both sides of the ball sucked. It the Pats O played the Pats D today they both would have lost.

They both sucked indeed. The Jets offense could only put up 9 points on the ravens. They put up 28 on the Pats and made the secondary look inept. I'm sure lack of pressure helped there too.

Are you telling me that allowing Mark Sanchez to go 21/30 for 220 yards and 3 TD's and no ints accompanied by LT rushing for 76 yards at 6.9 a pop is "good enough"?

The Will Smith photo pretty much sums up my thoughts. The defense was HORRIBLE today against the Jets.

Nothing about the defensive scheming and execution is that different from 2007. They're still dependent on the offense providing multiple score cushions and when the offense splutters the bend don't break philosophy hasn't been working to well in big games. Games won or not, you'd like to see the attacking brand of defense we know they're capable of playing when they're allowed too.

We saw it last week against the Bengals and we saw is against the Jets. Take the shackles off the defense and let them play football BB. Unleash the fury.

When the offense went three and out after the defense had just gotten off the field after a long drive (after the end-zone pick), I knew that we were in trouble.

The worst part of it is that he was in position on most plays, just didnt make the right play, I guess he has that going for him.

Hey Lama.. how about a little something for the effort?

I rarely complain about play calling because there are so many factors we dont know that go into it.
But after the Jets kicked the FG to get to 14-13 and the crowd was in the game, I couldn't believe the best we could come up with on first down was a dive into the A gap by Green-Ellis.

Yeah, I wouldn't be looking for a pat on the back.

Darius needs to be grounded from tweeting and go to his room. If we got rid of Maroney because he's immature, what about this kid?

The bad news for the Pats is that they have now given up 52 points - only five teams have given up more.

The good news for the Pats is that they have now scored 52 points - only four teams have scored more.

Is your glass half full, or half empty?

I may be drunk, but it doesn’t take a football genius to say it’s bad to have your defense on the field for 22 minutes in the last 30 of the game...

This is a great point. You can't expect your D to play that many minutes and that many series and not give up points. I think your point is a good one. Had the Pats scored or even put together a decent f'ing drive in the second half the D could have rested.

No. Hence why I said both sides of the ball didn't play good enough to win. The Pats' offense turned the ball over and didn't complete drives with points, but the Pats' defense couldn't stop the Jets from having long substained drives ending in points. A total team failure.

They didn't even have any drives!!! Never mind the f'ing points.

What part of that statement do you consider immature?

:confused:If they played good enough to win......then why did they lose?

I think this lost what exactly what the team needed so they can see what really wrong with the whole picture and get their act together.
