On Rotoworld this morning it said Mankins will return after week 10. I'm not sure if the Pats can franchise next season, but the Pats need to start making some calls.

im not waiting week 10 since we, would rather a apolgy instead of a pro bowl guard that will help this year.. get rid of him now.. its over...

WEEI : Mankins will return for last 6 games

After the game I went for a jog and listened to Weei. They reported that Mankins says he will return for the last 6 games of the season to receive a credited year of service, ensuring that he can leave via free agency at years end regardless of the CBA.

Sorry, if they offered a source for their report, I didn't catch it.

and again just trade his ass NOW>

Re: WEEI : Mankins will return for last 6 games

that is what everyone thinks he would do it to get hte year counted for himself which is sad

Re: WEEI : Mankins will return for last 6 games

Trade him to the Raiders... Put him in football hell for his sins!

Mankins is a free agent. He's unsigned. There is no trade to be made at this point.

Re: WEEI : Mankins will return for last 6 games

Nonsense. Mankins is probably not worth more than a 3rd rounder on the trade market. He plays a low value position, wants crazy money and is guaranteed to leave in free agency anyway.

Mankins instantly makes the offense better and will be reaching mid-season form around the start of the playoffs. At this stage, I think Mankins value on the field has greater potential than his trade value.

This is the sort of thing that is easy to say in the abstract; "Trade Mankins for a pass rusher."

OK, but maybe there isn't a single quality pass rusher (or any other position) being offered up in return for Mankins. I'm sure Belichick is happy to field offers for Mankins, but obviously none have piqued his interest.

I'd take Tashard Choice and a third round pick.... Cowboys O-line is pitiful, Barron is the worst starter in the league.

Mankins would not have made a big difference in this game and won't all season - get rid of the whining asz b!tch

Maybe. Tough call. The guy will have been out of football for nearly a year ( 10 1/2 months ). If he shows up out of shape and / or unhappy, he may be no help at all.

I would be extremely surprised if he was even activated. I think Belichick would give him the Terry Glenn treatment: "OK you're back. Now warm that bench for the actual players."

I think that is a realistic possibility, depending on the health/success of the current line, as well as the condition Mankins reports in.

I would love to trade Mankins and a pick to SD for Vincent Jackson. Him and Randy Moss on the outside, and Welker in the slot, that would be awesome.

he would have to sign his tender before we could trade him.....

Can we franchise him at the end on the year and then trade him to oak for a 7th rounder?

Trade him to Dallas for one of their rb's

Mankins is worth at least a 2 round pick. We could trade him to the Raiders o Asamougha plus a 4th round pick from us.
