Do you think any of the players read this board?

Honestly, I don't think they do.

A former player would have signed up by now. Especially the ones that didn't last long in the league and maybe wanted to share their brief experiences on the Patriots roster.

Are you kidding me? Of course they care.

Brady, Welker, and Belichick have all said this week that it matters to them personally that fans stay to the end of the game and cheer them on.

Moss has griped about some people in New England not wanting him to do well. He wasn't talk about Brady and BB. He was talking about fans and media.

Why did you play sports as a kid? Why do your kids?

Is it in large part cause they like it when other cheers for them and say "good job." These kids are no different.

You can bet your ass that Moss cares when folks here accuse him of taking plays off. Or Maroney gets insulted when folks accuse him of being made of glass.

PRECISELY.

Hey, I've got my own row to hoe.

We ALL do.

But just because most people suffer from self esteem issues, and can't imagine that their words in this OnLine Community mean much...doesn't make it so.

Pro Athletes crave the same validation, recognition, and reassurance that the rest of us do.

I GUARANTEE you that they browse this Forum...And why SHOULDN'T they??

We're all in this, together.

If they do, i just want to say one thing... <3 Tom :D

I'm married but we both agreed on 3 celebrities that we are allowed cheat with if we ever had the chance. His choices are crappy but Tom is 2nd on my list right after Johnny Depp. :p So yeah, keep that in mind if you read this.

Morons don't, some of us do. It doesn't really reflect on us individually because of the annonymity of message boards, but it reflects on Ian because he isn't and on the fan base collectively which is unfortunate. As I said, in one case a high profile player who wanted to win a championship came to Boston in part because he felt a certain comfort level with a segment of the fan base. Of course over time he found out just how small the intelligent segement actually was... That's why it's always a hoot when fans cry disloyal when a player leaves. The most vocal members of a fan base are usually it's least loyal, because like the picture you prefer to paint about players is really the same for the self absorbed frontrunner segment of the fan base who could care less who is wearing the laundry as long as a team wins...

Exquisite.

I've got Snookie, J Wow, and Lindsey Lohan....I'm bound to stumble across one of the lushes passed out....and....

Good thing you don't lose sleep over folks thinking you are an a-hole.

Cause if you lost sleep over everyone here who thought you were an a-hole you would have the most severe case of insomnia in medical history.

Depp & Brady are gay. So I tell my wife anyway.

when I was in HS I was a nationally ranked cross country runner. I religiously read everything that people were saying about me on forums.

I can't see the Patriots spending much time on these forums though. These guys get their first taste of celebrity when they are in high school - by now they probably don't care what people think.

Twitter is different, because they can communicate with other players (and not just to trash talk). I hear many of the corners have mentors on other teams who they ask for advice about the game and tells regarding specific recievers, and things like that.

Wow. Impressive. By any chance, do you happen to know a guy named Travis (i.e.Aqua4ever) that attends your weekly therapy group?

Blasphemy!!! :lol2:

Depp is a member here you know. In fact, let me check, yup...he's got this week off. What a coincidence!

I read the board all the time ... but I'm in Denver now so I will read their board.

I hope you aren't as gullible in real life like stuff like this posted in this forum :D

If you are interested, I have some swampland here in Pa to sell you real cheap :D

IAN has said REPEATEDLY that players and their FAMILIES read this site

I love the idea that players, etc. read this stuff - it creates an undercurrent of what I'd call "happy paranoia" that increases the entertainment value of the forum :D

The media read this board. I am sure some of the players do too. It is only human nature to be curious what people are saying about you.

At least I won't be known as the resident village idiot who believed Maroney IMed me on this message board.

When your parents told you Santa wasn't real and got you all upset were you say.....23 years old?

I'm really Steve Grogan, and you punks have no idea how good you have it these days!! Back in my day, we'd have been happy to go 8-8!

If players read this, that's fine by me. Then again, I don't really say things online that I wouldn't say in person, so I'm just fine with that idea.

Btw, Tom, my student loans are piled up a little high. Think you could play the first quarter in my honor by donating the paycheck for said quarter to my fund? It's the best cause I can think of...srsly.

Yeah, whatever, I still want to know what Maroney's username was.
