Brady calls out Gillette Stadium fans

He's not going to be able to change the traffic pattern overnight, but Kraft certainly can get some of those restaurants and stores there in Patriots Place to honor some type of discount for fans that stay the whole game, maybe presenting their ticketstub for 10% off a whole meal, or 15% off a purchase over $50 at EMS or whatever. It's not exactly a perfect solution but it's certainly a compromise that will help keep people there for the duration.

Awesome - - that's a great idea!

Folks can have their tickets timestamped as they leave the stadium and the discount can be honored for any stamped after the end of the game.

That's actually quite brilliant and should be sent to the Kraft family.

How is taking the MBTA commuter rail? Sounds tempting due to the traffic.

Hardly anyone leaves Pats games early if there is a real contest going on.

Flame away.

In some ways this should be a non-issue. The NEP don't need the 12th man on defense if the score is 54-3 in NE's favor. In close games is when you need the noise on defense.

Then maybe Tommy should point a finger at Kraft's rapacious greed.

(JMHO).

Are you purposely being ironic, given the piece of paper Tommy-the-now-highest-paid-player-in-NFL-history signed last week?

Heh, the experience has definitely changed over the years. While the new stadium is very nice and all that, there is a definite change in the makeup of the fans. Though, to be fair, the increased percentage of Banana Republicans is not overly dramatic, just noticeable.

While some may blame the lack of noise retention on the stadium, I'm not so sure. I might have agreed with you until the end of the Ravens game last year. That might be the loudest I've ever heard a Foxboro crowd (admit that I wasn't there for any of the playoff games). The stadium didn't have a hard time holding that noise inside.

Another angle to consider is that it seems Pats fans are a bit more brainy than most. While at a game last year, there was a confusing situation on the field, and we were trying to figure it out with beer logic. Sitting in front of us was this 30-something blonde woman dressed like one of the limited girls. She just sat there the whole game, hardly ever stood or cheered. She looked good, though ;). In any case, this situation unfolds and while we're trying to make sense of it, she turns around and gives us this complete breakdown. She knew her stuff. It was pretty shocking, actually.

Anyway, that's my anecdotal, rambling contribution.

**** this douche! :D

Hey. Sometimes Tapas can be served cold. And you could get frostbite.

I mean come on.
Maybe that explains it, they're to busy eating to yell or clap.

If i'm not mistaken there was a thread last week about Gillette having the second worse traffic problem of any stadium. Could that be it, could that be why Kraft and the rest leave early?

Kraft doesn't leave the stadium early.

He's in the lockerroom after every game.

Here's the solution! If they invite everyone into the lockerroom, no one will leave!! Then maybe Mr. Kraft could give us all a ride home in his helicopter! :)

how about the KC crowd...*sigh*...that was awesome.

i was thinking the same...i was impressed a lot by KC fans under the heavy rain they were strong, loud and a factor...

the 'old' Foxboro Stadium was surely much more different...ok...it was a play-off game the last game in the snow against the Raiders, but i still remember that crowd...awesome !

now for several reasons ,allready discussed in the past, it is much more different

I'm going by what i thought i read in the beginning of this thread. It does make more sense that he stays and visits the LRoom

Yeah, ever see those postgame lockerroom videos on Patriots.com?

He's always there congratulating the players. Then Tedy (now Randy) gather the team to do that "Oh yeah!!!!" cheer thing after BB's "Good game, fellas" talk. It's as unchanging and constant as the old Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

Luckily Brady has a 49-8 home record regardless.

To be honest i can only remember just a couple of times seeing video of him doing that, but i'm on Braincation today. :D

I'm really disappointed in this thread. 51 posts and no one used "red seats". I know it's been hinted at quite a bit but no one said "red seats". That should have been used in the first 5 posts.

BTW, I was lucky enough to be given "red seat" tickets for last years Jets game. I found the people there to be loud and excited (except the 4 Jets fans 2 row down from me). If fact I was surprised that more people were not inside the Fidelity Club House which is beautiful and you can wacth the game from inside.

Based on that experience I think the "red seats" are getting an unwarrented bad rap. All the way down to the game we were talking about bringing some noise and spirit to the red seats. It was there without us making anyone act any differently.

People leave early cause the traffic is HORRIFIC! I prefer to leave early in a blowout or stay the whole game & then tailgate for an hour or 2 after if its a close game. If you leave as the game ends you will be literally sitting in your car not moving for an hour+, its insane.

The last night game I went to we stayed the whole game & I didn't get home till 4am, makes for a tough day of work on monday.

I went to the Miami game in Miami last year ( ugh ) & I got back to my hotel ( which was 20 min away ) in 30 minutes, it was amazing.

The traffic is such a drawback it makes me not want to go at all, I usually go to 2 games a year, I prefer to watch the rest at home.

More drunk people = more noise.

Yup, after the Thursday night Jets game that went to OT in 2008 I got home at 4 am. Not good times given the pouring rain all the way home while brooding over the fact that we couldn't stop them on 3rd and 15.

Do it. I did it for one of the few Pats games I've been to in recent years (04-05 AFCDG vs. Colts, actually). If you can get to one of those MBTA stops, or live in or around Boston, seems like a no brainer to me. Makes traffic & weather (and alcohol consumption if that is your prerogative) a non-issue.

Agreed. I am always itching to beat the crowd out of any Gillette Stadium event for this very reason.
