Also, need to invest in a new authentic. Have the Brady, and yes, I admit, I had a Maroney authentic. I'm thinking of a Welker or Hernandez jersey. Would get the Wilfork one, but I I'm not big enough to wear that one.

Agreed. Any UDFA who makes an NFL roster is overachieving really. I don't think he'll ever be a big time running back, but as depth he's done well as a young, raw player.

If Taylor and Morris are out in the same game though, I have very little confidence in him though.

As long as we can keep either Taylor or Morris healthy every game (not one or the other, but at least one of them healthy every game), this is a good deal. I just shudder if the Pats traded away Maroney and the Pats go into a game with BJGE and no one else.

Such a shame. I see the clips of him running in '07, the AFCCG and see what should have been. Just wasn't enough. Maybe Josh can get him back to that.

Haha, I just saw that video recently. One of the few great contributions he's given us in his tenure.

Maybe he'll do well in a backup role for the Broncos. Who knows. All I know is I'm happy with who we got now, and glad the Pats finally turned the page on this saga.

for me LM was never a bad RB, but also never a really good one.
lets hope, that Freddi, Ben, Sammy and Kevin will stay healthy.

Wow, for a fourth, but with a sixth as a sweetener! That's quite a drop in value from Round One. I didn't think he would be that lowly valued if traded. Maybe there's something about his fundamental health that we just don't know because it isn't public.

dont think his salary was big and considering taylor's injury history, they couldve kept i think.
guy was okay until 2007. The 2007 SD playoff game he actually played well.Considering how he started in 2006 with our average receiving core i had high hopes for him. For his sake , redskins with shanahan might have been a better fit.

And the Maroney Defender Club's great hope just folded like a house of cards.
Face it Maroney was just not a good RB. He never 'got it' and he didn't have the vision or instincts for the position. And to BB's eyes he is worth no more than a 4th round pick. Heck the Pats had to kick in a 6th as well to make this deal happen. Too bad we didn't draft Jamaal Charles or MJD instead. Could have saved ourselves the disappointment and used lower round picks. But no team can draft perfectly. BB has acknowledged his mistake and moved on. The 2006 draft was a total disaster. Our best pick that whole draft was a kicker.

I wouldn't worry about the 6th. Next year's draft is likely to be top heavy but very shallow. I expect the mid-round picks (not sure what the Pats have with the recent trades) to be used for maneuvering in the early rounds.

I remember when we drafted him Shannahan stating that we stole their pick. Looks like they still want him. Let's hope we dont have any injuries.

I wouldn't be surprised if he put it all together in Denver. It wasn't going to happen here.

Oh well. At least there will be a couple dozen less Maroney threads each month.

5th year of a 5-year contract, with no new deal negotiated. It's a rare player who commands a premium pick in that situation.

Well, Halle-frickin'-lulah!! Sorry Maroney, but you were one of the biggest busts of the Belichick era. I heard the Pats are getting a 4th round pick for him, so that's pretty decent considering how useless Maroney is.

I wonder if he will pass the physical with the "groin" injury, and if he doesn't where we go then with him?
