That was an ugly, ugly game, and it's pretty hard to defend Sanchez's performance. But I actually don't think he deserves all the blame.

Basically all of the things that you should do with young QBs, the Jets have ignored. They handed him the starting job on a silver platter (there was no real competition), they let him run wild for a while and realized that was a bad idea, then locked things down to the point that he's terrified to even look down-field.

After last season's improbable run to the AFCCG, they started the year with huge expectations and huge pressure, to which they only added onto it with Rex's big talk, and Hard Knocks. They get rid of Alan Faneca, weakening the line. They get rid of their #1 RB from last season, weakening the run game.

He's young, he may not suck forever. But the Jets FO has to accept a lot of the blame for the confused young kid out there screwing up their season.

On the plus side, the offense did have 3 scoring drives.

One drive was even longer than 18 feet.

Sanchez has been handled poorly, I agree. There wasn't even one slant pattern on offense tonight. Brian Schottenheimer is a terrible coordinator, and he's building up quite the ****ty resume.

Errors that he made were entirely his own doing. Schottenheimer can only whisper in his ear what he wants him to do, mistakes Sanchez made were on his own hands not Schottenheimer.

1. Don't really need to say much about Sanchez except that the playcalling suggests that the coaching staff knows that he's in over his head.

2. Revis is great.

3. I never root for injuries, but Jenkins' durability has been suspect. He almost lasted a whole quarter this year.

4. Cromartie was brutally bad - probably hasn't gotten any in a while since the NFL required the jets to have him neutered. Or maybe he just still sucks.

5. Kyle Wilson couldn't handle the man-to-man responsibility needed in order for the jets to runs their blitz packages.

6. Shonn Greene can hold off on writing his HOF acceptance speech for a while.

7. Highlight for announcers came with 9:00 left in Q2 when Jaworski said that you could really the the progress Sanchez had made in his second year and that he was really in command of the jets offense. Hey Jaws, care to rethink that one?

Good on you to make this thread...

1. The Jets offensive line misses Alan Faneca, and so does Ferguson.

2. Tomlinson looked okay, but you're going to rely on him way too much. Jason Taylor is done and you should be praying for the health of Calvin Pace. Outside of Leonard, safety is a question mark.

3. Cromartie is not a good fit in your system. Just like we were trying to tell you, he sucks.

4. Kris Jenkins is not the best NT in the game. Too injury prone. He's a knee injury waiting to happen... just like we were trying to tell you.

5. Sanchez has clearly not made the leap that you all were telling us he was going to make.

But, take comfort in the fact that it was only Week 1. Adjustments can be made, but this team is not going to the Super Bowl. Your pass defense got exposed tonight.

Not only did the Jets lose but they looked to be banged up. Jenkins did not have a good look on his face coming off.

This drives me insane. I was yelling at my TV, "Jaws, he stinks!! Just say it!!" The way they fawn over guys like Sanchez (following the pre-game hype instead of what is right in front of their eyes) makes me ill.

The Jets defense is outstanding, true, but if they play like that against us next week they are going to get shredded. Their offense was unbelievably bad as well.
Right now I'm going to predict a 42-13 Pats win.

The problem is the offense is horrible. And your corners, sans Revis of course, can't handle the recievers time enough for the blitz, which is the only way the Jets can get pressure.
If I were a Jets fans right now, I wouldn't be confident.
