In or around section 125, my girlfriend and I saw a fan who was unconscious carried onto the field where he was attended to by EMT's who rushed onto the field. The incident occured about an hour before kickoff. The EMT's performed chest compressions even as they were loading him on to the ambulance.

Does anyone know the condition of this individual? Boston.com is reporting the incident occured but they have released no information. As someone who observed from about 20 feet away, the event was very scary.

I've just learned he passed...it's very sad. :(

It is indeed very sad. We saw the whole incident unfold right before our eyes. I did not think he had a good prognosis at the time which unfortunately was true. I have never seen anything like this occur in my 35 plus years of attending sporting events.

My wishes are with his family.

God, We saw the whole thing happen we were in the next section over. That man had a little boy with him-i don't maybe son or grand son the kid could not have been more then 5 or 6, anyway right before the guy collapsed the officials came over to them and took the boy onto the field and took pics with him and then he ran up the side line with them, while the man who collapsed took more pics. This is terrible I told my son that it didn't look good, they were working on him right into the ambulance.

That is awful to hear. I cant imagine what a shock to his family this must be. I know we can go at any time, but no one thinks like that. I didnt when my father, grandfather, and uncles left this morning to go the stadium. I feel so bad for him and his family

Frm what I saw which I saw from the top of section 125, the guy did niot appear to be that old. We saw EMT's running down the stairs with a device to sit someone and move that someone on wheels. Once our eyes were focused on the incident, we saw a rather large man with about five or six men carrying him on to the field where the EMT's showed up via ambulance.

I was unaware of the fact a child was with him. That makes this tragedy worse.

That is terrible. Poor guy had plans to watch the Pats season opener and this had to happen. :(

R.I.P. My condolences to his family. :(

Wow really sad

Hideous. A beautiful, glorious, exciting event for the family, and the kid especially, and it ends that way. Awful. Maybe some solace can be taken in that, obviously, the gentleman was having a wonderful, memorable time with son/grandson at the moment of his passing. Not much of a silver lining, but it's better than many alternatives.

Prayers to the family.

This story puts football in perspective. I broke out in a cold sweat reading the link that was just posted. A 6 year old son. What a horrible sad story to read. Please pray for that family.

How sad. Watched the whole incident from the sidelines across from that section as I had pre-game sideline passes. I knew it probably wasn't going to be a good ending when they kept doing CPR for like 10 or 15 minutes before putting him in the ambulance. He looked older than 40 and was a very large man. Very sad for the family and especially the kids. I hope the son isn't overly traumatized for the balance of his life. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Awfull. Condolences to the family. Between this and what we imagined might have happened when we saw the Brady accident...jaws of life news flashes, don't take one single day for granted. Kiss the spouse and the kids. Call Mom and Dad. Do it.

Wow. This really upsets me. Rare for me to feel such sincere emotion for someone that I dont actually know, but I have a little boy, and I cant comprehend how devastating something like this would be for him.

My heart goes out to his family.

This is just terrible. I can't even imagine what the family is going through.

It is indeed terrible. I'm a single parent with a 12 year old daughter. I have thought about what would happen to her if I passed on suddenly. I've got plans in place in case something like that happened, but still.....
