At the end of the day, whether Alison is reciting what happened or not, I just don't care what Chad said. He's a goofy college kid making the transformation into an NFL player. Last time I checked, most NFL players are not the most politically correct people in the world.

Where Casale draws the line is by taking shots at this website. That means he has 'x' amount less listeners, and 'x' amount more enemies. That's his choice, and we can put him right up there with Borges and Felger in the Hall of Shame, for all I care.

Hey Pats1,
Like Pony, I actually like Casale so maybe I'm missing the point but it doesn't seem like he really said anything that bad. If anything, it was that absolute idiot Andy Hart who appears to be taking the cheap shots, no?

For the record: Before today, I had no idea who the different voices on Patriots Football Weekly were. My initial post referenced what was said on Patriots Football Weekly, not Tom Casale, whoever he is.

It all got targeted at Mr. Casale, once he took it upon himself on the show today.

The more I listen to these guys whine about what we said about them, the more I just get the impression that they are utter and complete hacks.

I'm glad my subscription to PFW ran out, I'll never re-up, that's for sure.

Hey, I saw Larry Bird at the Govt. center with all 3 stations live say Moses Malone eats ****.

He was an unsophisticated rube after two years.

I just don't want this "rumor" to start based on this obvious and unclever troll.

No actual person has said Chad did a Cleavon Little impersonation.

Also, how do you announce coming onto a message board? Should I call you and let you know I'm coming? No pun intended. ;)

Drop me a line sometime! ;)

We like to joke around a little here, and your post sounds a little odd with you knowing so much about the event without going, and not knowing who Jackson is and all. No harm intended.

Who went to the event that told you about it? Did they tell you a while ago? You have a good memory for details!

Sorry, Ray, I couldn't resist. :D

I'm 18-years old. I'm sorry if I don't know every single player on the team. I read what you guys write about him but I've never seen Jackson play. Sorry I posted. I'm not defending the writer. I don't even know what he said besides what's been posted here. I also didn't know it was a line in a movie. I'll go back to just reading and shut up because I don't know enough to post yet.

PS And you can say what you want but please don't call me a racist without knowing who I am. Thank you.

I don't know if you are for real or not. I do know that term "racist" gets thrown around way too much.

It's been used on this board more than once lately and I'd like it to stop. Being a racist is one of the lower forms of scum on the earth. Anyone, who calls someone that should have their facts straight bedore they say that.

I'm not calling anyone out but, damn it, stop and think before you call someone that. So what if Jackson really did say that. He's young and making a joke, probably.

Nothing wrong with playing with the trolls as long as you don't spread their stories.

I wonder if he's wearing a dress while he posts.

The people who went are friends of my parents. They are like 50 years old and loaded. I don't even think they watch football, they just go so they can say they were there. You know the type probably. When I said I didn't "know" Jackson I meant I don't know what he looks like because I've never seen him play. They said a young man was there being kind of loud and he said that one remark and someone in a suit had a word with him. That's all. I don't ever remember seeing you all talk about the charity event before. I should say that I'm not on this board everyday and i don't read all the posts. I thought this may be helpful in some way. If it is, I'm glad and if it isn't, I'm sorry I brought it up. I don't even know if the player they're talking about is Jackson. I'm just telling you what was told to me.

I can see both sides of the argument here.

One side being that you should either report everything that took place or shut up because if you just say that something did happen when people are going to speculate exactly what happened. And they usually come up with something much worse than what actually did happen.

On the other side I have listened to the show almost every day (Tuesday-Friday) since the beginning of the season. BTW I do have a boyfriend, I do work 8 hour every day, I do eat and sleep and somehow I also find time to read/post here and other places and also listen to the show but maybe thats why I only have 110 posts so far (well the main reason for that is that it takes me so long to write in English).

Anyway I heard it when he first talked about this incident. He did it as a reply to all those callers/e-mailers who were wondering why we didn´t see Chad on the field during the last preseason games and against Buffalo. The radiocrew were speculating like the rest of us - like maybe it was just the hamstring, maybe it was the playbook (they did write that one of pretty soon) and then Tom Casale just said that something had happened during the Gala that had made him to believe that maybe Chad was a little immature - perhaps a reasonable high draft pick who had come in here and thought the world of himself. Casale didn´t make a big deal out of it. He just said it was a possible explanation for him not to be out there.

I don´t remember who it was but some Boston sports writer wrote something about Chad making a scene of himself at the Gala right after it happened during TC and Peter King wrote about Chad needing to grow up (or something like that) i MMQB after the Denver game. I believe King must have gotten this from someone inside and so I also believe that Chad have or at least had a problem besides his hamstring. Belichicks praise to Jackson on "Patriots Monday" also leads me to believe that Jackson has gotten over it.

I still believe Jackson will be a great player for us. Maybe not this year since all rookie WRs seems to struggle during their first season but he will be good eventually IMHO. I also think that Tom Casale is the best reporter on patriots.com and that some of you are making a big deal out of nothing. If you haven´t listened to the show then stop criticizing cause you are taking things out of context. Maybe Casale shouldn´t have said anything about the incident (someone else probably would have eventually). This team do not give out a lot of information The guys on the show know a little bit more than we the fans do but they often speculate and try to find reasons just like we do. All I know is that their explanations are often a lot more reasonable than the once some of the posters here (the bench Brady/Maroney kind of posters) come up with and thats why I listen.

Don't worry about the paranoid folks, they've had their own run ins - especially don't feel guilty that your memory still works. There are some here who just repost the same thing each week, we charitably consider them to be one trick ponies instead of old gray mares.

Very true, Patsgirl.

And at the end of the day, I doubt anybody really cares what Jackson said at the gala.

It is just too bad that Casale took a cheap shot at this website, because that is actually what most of us will remember long after today.

I think most of us here are married, and have jobs. Some don't, and some are young, single and free, but it's all good.

I could care less about the cheap shot at the website or me for that matter (btw, happily married to a wonderful woman, we have two kids, I have a thriving financial advisory practice, sorry to ruin your fantasy, Mr. Casale).

But the real cheapshot was perpetrated against Chad Jackson. If Patriots Football Weekly has something to report, then report it. If they feel they shouldn't, then they shouldn't. It's like being a "little pregnant". And it was VERY unfair to Jackson and his family.

Well lookie here... Alisonlovesbrady just HAPPENS to register tonight.. just HAPPENS to share the intimate details of what Casale "witnessed" and just HAPPENS to have been posting from the same IP Address as a very well known poster.

Mmmmm... Alison, I believe multiple usernames are a bannable offense. Would you like to come clean now and clear the air. Maybe we can put this whole Casale vs. PatsPsychos.com "war" to rest?

Come on. At least two mods know who you are. Step up and own up to it.

I hear you 5 Rings but I think it was all in good fun. He gets worked up but I listen to the show a lot and he gives props to this site probably more than anyone. He always mentions it and other than today, it's always to say something good about it. Like I said earlier I actually like him so I'm bias but I still think he's the only one there worth a damn. Besides, after today, he'll love everyone here. We have made him a superstar. This is the most publicity he's probably ever received. :D

Again, I can sometimes mix up Hart/Perillo/Kirsch's voices.

3:57, PFW in Progress - 10/11/06:

Kirsch: "Now Tom, do you have something you need to get off your chest?"

Casale: "Yeah, I'm pretty upset."

Kirsch: "What are you upset about?"

Casale: "Because we were attacked on one of those messageboards. PatsPyschos.com or whatever one of those messageboards is."

Kirsch or Hart or whoever [probably a soundbite]: "Look at that douchebag."

Casale: "Patriots Football Weekly, and specifically me. Because I was the one who brought it up. John Tomase wrote a story and mentioned the joke that he said at the [Kickoff] Gala, which was true. However, John Tomase didn't see or hear anything. [Soundbite: "What?!?"] He asked me what happened at that Gala. I told him exactly what I saw. Much like myself, Tomase decided not to put in some of the things I told him, because we see no need to slam Chad Jackson for no reason. OK? There were some things that he did when he walked in. John Tomase was 'nowheres' in site. He was talking to Tedy Bruschi during this whole thing, he admitted it to me, he asked me for everything."

Editor's Note: If Bruschi reportedly pulled aside Jackson, and Tomase was talking to him the entire time, how wouldn't Tomase have known what happened?

Casale: "So, the moderator or someone at PatsPsychos.com or whatever it is where they post 5,000 messages, and don't work, or eat, or have girlfriends of whatever it is they do..."

Kirsch or Hart or whoever [probably a soundbite]: "Look at that douchebag."

Casale: "..said that we should be embarassed for trying to, first of all, bring up our ratings - we have no ratings - ("Bring up our ratings!?!") so that shows you how idiotic that guy is. Second of all, for starting rumors about Chad Jackson. Listen, I'm leaving out this stuff because I don't feel it's appropriate to tell everyone the embarassment that he caused there. Tomase obviously decided to do the same thing. He mentioned the joke that didn't go over well. Yes, that was part of it. It wasn't the whole thing. So, I understand that you guys think you know the team, but you don't. You sit there, you write on your messageboards, and you watch the games on TV. That's all you do. You're not close to the team. What I said happened, and swear to God on my life that it happened!"

Editor's Note: Then why are you the ONLY media member/attendee who has said ANYTHING about the "incident?" And supposedly, the only STORY written about it was by TOMASE, who, by you, got the "scoop" from YOU! What about all the fans who were there? We haven't heard a THING about this from them!

Casale: "So that's the best I can do. If the person at that website would like to set up a lie detector test, I would be willing to take one at any time, and tell you exactly what happened at that Gala. So don't call us out for lying. Why would I want to make Chad Jackson look bad? Doesn't he play for the Patriots, Fred?"

Kirsch: "Absolutely."

Casale: "Don't I work for the Patriots?"

Kirsch: "Absolutely."

Casale: "Do I have a Super Bowl ring yet?"

Kirsch: "No, you don't."

Casale: "No, I don't. I would like to go to Miami and get one. So I wouldn't make up things about Chad Jackson that aren't true for my own personal benefit, because it doesn't benefit me. So, that's all. I just thought that, that was - Tomase reported a small piece on what happened that night. He decided to keep the other stuff out. I think that was a good decision. And I'm not going to tell you what happened, because it's over, it's done with, and it doesn't need to be said."

Kirsch: "Yeah, it was kind of like a private affair."

Casale: "Exactly. [Soundbite: What?!?] I work for the team, and I don't think it's necessary for me to go into specifics about what I saw."

Kirsch: "But these same websites will kill us, and when I say us, I mean PFW, if they think we're looking through rose-colored glasses, you know? You can't please these people.

Casale: "'Alls' I said was [that] there were some things there that he did that were not appropriate. [Soundbite: What?!?] And they were addressed by the veterans on this team. Now, I'll say the same thing on a lie dectector and we'll see if the needle moves. I guarantee it won't.

[Soundbite: ticking clock]

Kirsch: "So what exactly did they say? We're trying to raise our ratings?"

Casale: "They said we're trying to raise our ratings by getting all over a 21-year old kid, like we get our kicks off of doing that. I simply mentioned that there were some issues with that thing."

Kirsch: "How many e-mails do we get on a weekly basis [about] 'What's going on with Chad Jackson, and why isn't he out there'? [Soundbite: "69"]"

Casale: "Right."

Kirsch: "I mean, it's not like we're just, you know, looking for stuff."

Casale: "Yeah, they're criticizing - instead of saying well, 'You don't want to say what happened because we're trying to protect the kid,' they're criticizing us because 'We're not saying what happened, we're just making up rumors.' It's not a rumor. Call the cops. I'll go down anytime you want, I'll put my - whatever that thing is for your finger - [soundbite: police sirens] there in front of everybody and tell you exactly what happened and we'll see if the needle moves."

Perillo or Hart or Kirsch: "And remember what George Costanza said."

Perillo or Hart or Kirsch: "It's not a lie if you believe it!"

Casale: "I just thought that was uncalled for. Saying that we would try to pick on a member of our own organization [soundbite: "Go **** Yourself"] just to drive up ratings on an internet radio show. What kind of sense does that make?"

Kirsch: "That's nuts. Was there any responses to it? Anybody else responding to the post?"

Casale: "Everyone thinks everyone's against Chad Jackson. Because I guess if Borges and Felger say something bad about everybody, I guess that means the entire media other than Mike Reiss."

Kirsch: "Well, you know, it's amazing though, these players - it's amazing to me how the players don't realize sometimes. But Chad Jackson holds one interview, yesterday, where he gets to say kind of what's going one with him, and that, you know, it's simply the injury that's holding him back, and he wishes he was out there, and says all the right things, and he turns all public opinion."

Casale: "Right."

Kirsch: "You know, if the players just understood how, they have the ability to really manipulate the media."

Casale: "Oh yeah."

Kirsch: "You know, they do themselves a big favor, you know, they can use the media if they want to."

Casale: "Corey Dillon felt like if he could own the media."

Kirsch: "They just have to understand how to do that. You know, up to yesterday, everyone was like 'Chad Jackson this, Chad Jackson that,' once you hear him in his own words, the fans are ready to flock to him. Which is fine! I'm happy about that! I want the kid to succeed!"

Casale: "Yeah, even last night on our TV show, I was the one who said 'We need Chad Jackson.' We need him. I don't know how many times I've said that. I don't know why people feel I have a personal vandetta against Chad Jackson."

Editor's Note: The Pats don't "NEED" Chad Jackson. You've been, from Day 1, acting like Chad Jackson being perfect, attending every practice, was the end-all, be-all of the Patriots' season. What about Garrett Mills? Or Mincey and Stevenson, who are gone (Well, D.S. is on the p.s.)? L.K. Smith? Andrews? What have they done?

Casale: "Yeah, I made a couple of jokes, calling him Ms. Jackson and stuff - that's just all in fun. Just having fun. I don't dislike him. I think he looks like a machine. If you saw him in the locker room, the guy is a wrecking crew. He's got unbeliveable speed. As soon as he can get on the field and contribute, we all think he can be the number one receiver for the Patriots. So I don't know how that's being negative. "Kirsch: "Well, OK, so, you know..."

Casale: "I had to set the record straight. And you're also, feel free to e-mail John Tomase and ask him what I just said is the exact way that it happened. Because I told him everything that happened. He did not see it."

Kirsch: "What's the screename of this person who -"

Casale: "It's a moderator there. [Shmessy] I don't know how you get that job. But he's a moderator. And you can e-mail John Tomase, and like I said, I'm giving you specifics, he did not see what was going on because he was talking to Tedy Bruschi. E-mail him, ask him if
that's true."

Kirsch: "You know, so whoever this moderator is, if he's a real fan, he's listening to this show, whether it's live or on the podcast, and let's see what he has to say for himself."

Casale: "Yeah, it was a personal attack that I felt was uncalled for. I read those things because I think they're comical. You know me, I get a kick out of them. And I've been slammed plenty of time on those boards. That's fine. But to say that we're picking on Chad Jackson and starting rumors, that's totally unfounded, that's totally un-true, and at no point - if I went to that Gala, and made up stories, how happy would you be, Fred?"

Kirsch: "Not very happy. That's not what we're looking for."

Casale: "And that's the reason why I'm not mentioning all the things that I saw, because I don't think it's relevant, and it's over, so, that's my rebuttal to what happened."

Kirsch: "So, that's interesting."

Casale: "You thought this show was going to boring, huh?"

Kirsch: "We got a little, uh, we'll see what people have to say. I don't know what particular boards there are. There's a few there - PatsFans.com."

Casale: "That's the one."

Kirsch: "That's the one. Then there's another one - PatriotsNation, something like that."

Casale: "PatriotsPlanet, I think it is."

Kirsch: "Then of course there's the one on KFFL. That's a big one. But I'm sure a lot of these people are the same people who go to all of the boards. And they're hardcore fans."

Casale: "They are hardcore fans, but you don't always know. Just because you watch the game, you don't always know what's going on with the team. We don't make everything up. We don't sit here and say 'You know what,' we're not up in the office going 'Hey, let's start making up rumors about Chad Jackson because we don't like him.' Why would we not like him? We've only talked to him once or twice in our lives. He's never done anything to me to make me dislike him."

Kirsch: "We have a vested interest in this team succeeding."

Casale: "Yeah."

Kirsch: "You know, now some people think we're too biased towards the team, some people think that we're too negative. So I guess we're probably just right."

Casale: "I would say so. If I say something like that, it's only because what I saw. I would never make anything like that up. Because if you do that, I think that's a fireable offense - making up stuff then distorting it."

Kirsch: "Absolutely."

Casale: "That's a fireable offense. So I would never do that."

Kirsch: "[email protected]..."
