Re: Freeman:Bad Randy is back and Patriots will get their taste

Freeman's back? Damn, this is what I don't like about the regular season.

Tip: random sportswriters should not question the work ethic of hall of fame WRs who put in more work in one week than they do in a given year.

Word.......... :D

Re: Freeman:Bad Randy is back and Patriots will get their taste

Bad Randy, bad Lawyer, bad Ty, bad Assante, bad Richard, bad Adalius, bad Corey,

Tom almost was bad but he is good ... or is he bad ... ron says he's bad so I am :confused3:

where would our writers be without these bad people. :confused2:

i need to go over all the articles now so i know who is good - who is bad - and who may be a dog faker.

It's much easier to root for my team when I root as I am told.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Ty Warren's bad now too, since only bad people go to college in the offseason then hurt their hips in training camp.

That's true. Certain folks on this board were ballistic about that, and hammered anyone who disagreed with them. Sigh...

Who's this Freeman? Never heard of him.

If, in March of 07, someone had told me the Pats would sign a receiver that would put up 250 catches, 3700 yds, and 47 TD's over the next three years, and some no name internet pos writer would say he was dogging it..............................

I'd never have believed you.

Randy can say whatever he likes.

Just out of curiosity ... if randy were to sign a 2-year contract for say $10 million with say $6 million guaranteed ... would that be about right? would you do it for that or only for $8 million or so?

Randy Moss is everything you want in a receiver, he's been a great player for his whole career, and what he's done here, as far as his productivity, what he's done this preseason and in training camp, he's been a great example, a great leader. We're lucky to have him. We really are.

There's only one Randy Moss that will ever play this game. He's the greatest, probably, downfield receiver in the history of the NFL. Some of those catches he makes, where you see him running 65 yards down the field, Brady throws it and he runs and catches them, that's impossible to do.

Moss has been nothing short of great since day one... anybody who says otherwise is nuts. The media has been after him for three years, going on four now and every time they claim bad things with Moss, they are proven wrong. They are just seething and want to stir **** up and hope this time, they are right. Bunch of morons, nothing more

There's absolutely no way Randy would sign for that. He'd be looking for double that.

There's not a team in the NFL who wouldn't offer him more.

I think it all depends on what he does this year.

Say he only gets 6 TDs and 850 Yards this year...that would change his future contract $$$

Of course. I just don't think thats likely unless he gets hurt and misses games. My guess is another 1100/15

I just don't see him doing anything unusually bad in a contract year. The media is trying to start something that just isn't there.
Wait...the Boston media throwing sh#t against the wall and hoping some of it sticks???? Not here, never....

Re: Freeman:Bad Randy is back and Patriots will get their taste

And I'm done reading there. Anyone who thinks that a HOF career such as Moss' is lacking in work ethic is delusional and not worth reading.

I always thought that Moss HOF career was based more on God given talent.

No offense, but if that's the case then you really have no clue either. It doesn't matter how much talent you have, if you lack work ethic, you fail. PERIOD. There's not a single GREAT in the history of sports that didn't work their arse off as well. Yes you need the God given talent, you need the fortunate life path, you need a bit of luck, but you also need a crap ton of determination and hard work.

There's 0 chance that Moss could be anywhere close to the player he has been without a great work ethic. What do you think he's just really fast and can catch so he just comes to the game on Sundays and magically catches passes in the National Football League?

I've been thinking... and here is what I've come up with.

Randy is good for making a superbowl run. He is not someone you look at as long term with the youth of the current team. So... patriots will play hardball with Randy until mid-season. They already know that Randy won't catch the tough passes and risk injury even in past years. So if mid-season we are looking at making a serious run at the superbowl Patriots will throw an extension at him hoping that will get him to take some more risks. Right now Randy is not going to risk a career ending injury with no contract. If there is a possibility of a ring though with some extra money attached to it, you will see him making those catches over the middle. If the rest of the team puts the Patriots in serious contention without Randy, then he will get payed to put it all on the line.

Q: Do you understand how bad this looks after a 38-24 win to stand up here and talk about the contract?

RM: I can honestly say this, ‘I don’t really talk much.’ And I don’t want to take away from the win. But I think that before this season gets started, I don’t want it to be week 10, week 11, week 12, and we’re sitting here talking about a contract. What I want to let you all know is, I know this is the last year of my contract and I’m here to play it out. And I want to play some damn good football. That’s basically what I’m trying to tell you. I don’t want to wait until week 12 or 13. Every week is not going to be good for me. I have two and three guys on me sometimes. I don’t wait until week 9, 10 or 11 that I have a bad game, and now the tables turn on me. ‘Oh he doesn’t want to be here.’ That’s what I don’t want to happen. I’m not disrespecting the organization. I’m not disrespecting my teammates for the victory that we had today against the Cincinnati Bengals. But I think that this is my first time talking this year, and I want to get it out there. I’m definitely not being disgruntled or disrespectful. Like I said, this is my first time talking.

For me he says it himself the best. Get the contract talk over with early so you know where he stands and don't let it become an issue later in the year. Seems smart to me.
